it wasn't so much turning the lights up as it was turning the lights on -- they seemed to be sitting in the the dark throughout the episode

Maybe the lights were dark for a reason-perhaps symbolizing the darkness they were going through because of Kutner's death, or being in the dark about his death. Don't they call that..mood lighting?

it was so dark because everyone was either wearing black or white - shades were pulled - with the exception of camerons scrubs and the wood floor - the lack of color made it dark
