If you love Psych, and can't wait for next season to start this summer, you'll love this awesome new book, "Where Angels Fear to Tread" by Yolanda Pascal that I just read. The characters were funny and irreverent, like Shawn and Gus, and the story was interesting and different, and kept me always surprised. I like mysteries and thrillers, and this book was both. Imagine a Sherlock Holmes and Hermione from Harry Potter playing detectives and catching bad guys with the Lost Boys in Space--with a sprinkling of stand-up and romance. I loved the book--hope you enjoy it as much as me.

Thanks for the tip..I gotta check it out. I'm in the middle of Lee Child's "Nothing to Lose"....so I'll definitely put that on the list!

I just finished Robert Ferrigno's "Prayers of the Assassin", and "Sins of the Assassin" so I need to pick up another book to read. Thanks for the tip.

My 'book' tip is Neil Gaiman & Dave McKean's "The Sandman" comic book series. I know some people are like "ugh a comic?!?" (I'll even admit I used to be like that) but that's one of the best things I've ever read, and I even read and enjoy Shakespeare and Jane Austen and other classics. So yes, I go that far as putting that series on the essential must have read list!

i am so checking out his book! as soon as i'm done with the other 5 books i've already got to read ... laugh.gif

i whole heartedly second this recommendation! if only for this character -

Death - Dreams older sister-

she is awesome.

and for anyone who liked the movie Stardust i highly suggest (if you haven't already) go and read the book also by Neil Gaiman.

Oh yeah! Dream, Death and Delirium! Do the math lol...

I guess I shouldn't even be surprised, Shwins and all...

and Neil Gaiman is a genius!!!

omg i am a big reader and i have a lot of books i reccomend

first off let me just say that if you dont read harry potter or twilight because of the hipe or because you have seen the movies and it doesnt interest you then i would just like to say...
HARRY POTTER IS THE BEST BOOK EVER. I AM NOT SAYING THIS BECAUSE IT IS POPULAR AND I WANT TO BE ON THE BANDWAGON. I READ THE FIRST HARRY POTTER BOOK IN FIRST GRADE. FIRST GRADE. AND AS FOR TWILIGHT. IT IS ALSO A VERY GOOD BOOK. (IF YOU HAVE READ IT, DONT SAY YOU ONLY READ IT FOR EDWARD. DID YOU READ NEW MOON? HOW CAN ANYONE POSIBLY CHOOSE!!!!!!)

oh and if you dont read them because of religious reasons, let me just say, harry potter didnt steal my soul. im a pretty good person. (he just borrowed it and tore it into seven peices then gave it back! lol! only hp people would get it.) and for twilight. there are alot of vampire movies and books that people have no objection to. why this one? hmm?

as you can see i feel very strongly about this. anyways. so my suggestions for good books:

-The Harry Potter Books (if you have seen moves but not read books, you dont know anything. ANYTHING. read the books. they are soooo good.)
-Twilight
-Books by Tamora Pierce. this woman has written so many books! there is the songs of the lioness quartet, the immortals quartet, the protector of the small quartet, tricksters choice and tricksters queen, and terrior (and another 2 series i havent read yet!)
-the Luxe series. about the rich families of NYC in the late 1800s and into 1990. its sooo good
-The Inkheart Trilogy Inkheart was recently turned into a movie and i was fairly diapointed
-id tell you i love you but then id have to kill you and its sequal
-the secret life of bees this movie was actually pretty good
-the five people you meet in heaven i loveee this authors writing style.
-the second Mrs Giaconda its about Da Vinci and the mona lisa
-the egypt game i want there to be a movie of this and i will play dawn
-Ella enchanted movie sucked.
-PS longer letter later really creative. written in the form of two people wrighting back and forth through letters. its awesome.
-Jurassic Park. always a classic.
-the phantom tollbooth
-the thief by megan whalen turner
-Molly Moons incredible book of hypnotism and the 2 sequals
-and my absolute favorite single book that is not a series is Saffys Angel by Hilary McKay
buy it read it read it again. its awesome. my copy's spine has been tapes a million times because it was falling apart lol

and these are just my favorites.
XD

oh i almost forgot. i read this book when i was at a friends house sleaping over and she was in the shower and i was bored. it was called
-to catch a pirate
really good.

Wow...14 years old?? You really do pass for older, and I mean that as a compliment.

I second the Harry Potter hype. Those are the most awesome books ever...and I'm not exactly young enough to say I read them in first grade, lol. Young enough to be considered too young for my job though, but that's a different issue...

I haven't read Twilight, but it's on my "possibly" radar.

Right now to pass the time, I'll be re-reading the 6th book of Harry Potter in prep for the movie, and "Angels & Demons" is tugging at my interest.

Oh yes, and the one good thing about being a late comer to the awesome thing that is Psych- I have a ton of episodes I get to watch that are still new to me wink.gif
