HI everyone! I just thought it might be kind of fun to create a new game thread, a guess the quote kind of thing done "Hangman" style, where someone puts up a quote, blanks only, and then it's up for everyone else to guess which letters are in it. Does that make sense? OK I'll start:
"- --- -- ---- - -------- ---- - ---------- --------."
ETA 7/31/09:
Game Rules:
(1) Solutions to a quote must be confirmed as correct by the quote moderator (player who posted the quote) before a new quote can be posted.
(2) Whoever posts a quote to be solved will moderate that round. Please check here first to see if your quote has already been used.
(3) Only up to three (3) outstanding letter requests may accumulate before the moderator is able to fill in those requests into the puzzle. If your letter request is the fourth in a row, it will not be counted and you will need to guess your letter again after the puzzle is updated by the moderator. The moderator, however, does not have to wait for 3 letters to be guessed; he or she may fill in the letter requests one at a time as they come in if they like!
(4) In the unlikely event of a “tie”, the first exact correct solution as determined by the moderator wins.
(6) If you provide the correct solution, you then have the honor of posting a new quote, or you may pass your turn to another member, after your guess is confirmed by the moderator.
(7) Most importantly, HAVE FUN!!

Yes, I know it might be an easy one but I wanted to kick this off with something a bit easy that everyone knows. Perhaps, as the game evolves it can become a bit more challenging.

I actually have two quotes that I'd like to put out there - one is probably easier than the other...but then we're all such diehard fans of this show that perhaps the quote I first thought up won't be as difficult as I think it will be. Guess I'll just have to try to solve another puzzle down the road to use my other quote. It's fun to be able to do this, because the show has so many funny lines.

Okay, well on that note -

[Oh, how I wish Wheel of Fortune still had those rooms filled with prizes...I don't know when they stopped doing this, but I know in the late 80s they were still giving away actual prizes that you had to buy with your earnings. Does anyone else remember this? And you know, you couldn't walk away with more than X amount of cash (I think it was maybe $250? I'm not sure). Anyway, there'd always be some expensive but lunatic item that people could buy that was worth about $200 or thereabouts...a porcelain dalmation. A box of insanely pricey stationery. A gold-plated ashtray, lol. My best friend and I in high school used to play a hangman version of Wheel of Fortune and would actually go so far as to create fake prizes to bid on with our earnings. I'll have to ask her if she remembers this (and whether she'd be willing to resurrect our Wheel of Fortune game playing days!
