First, I do not consider myself a prude. I love movies, I love the movie "40-Year-Old Virgin". I love crass humor, think it's often hysterical, especially when in the hands of the hugely talented Steve Carell, etc.
HOWEVER, when I turned on the TV this morning, I was surprised to find this movie playing on USA on Sunday at 10 a.m.
I had to think about children all over this country who are probably playing in front of the TV on Sunday a.m. while their parents try to wake up with that first cup of coffee, and end up seeing this movie. The ENTIRE movie is predicated on sexual humor, and includes innumerable references to sex, drugs, bestiality, swearing, sex toys, drunken slobbering idiots.... I could go on.
I do not think this is appropriate programming for Sunday morning. Let's let kids stay kids for just a few more years before exposing them to this kind of movie. This movie should be saved for later-evening programming, after the kids are presumed to be in bed.
I am a realist. I do not really think that every child in this country is in bed at 8 p.m., or that kids may have not already been exposed to this movie by their "fun-loving" parents. But it's like when I go into an R-rated movie and there are parents in there who have brought kids with them. Why do that when there are so many other entertainment options out there? (like nature?) Kids ABSOLUTELY absorb what they are seeing and hearing. Just because they are young and may not understand it all does not mean it is not shaping them in some way. We as a society need to act responsibly, whether or not all parents do.
Please write to USA and ask that they air "40-Year-Old Virgin" (and all movies with similarly adult content) only during prime-time viewing hours.
Thank you.

I completely agree! I would also like to add that it makes no sense to me why words like fu*k, sh*t, nu*s were dubbed out. When words like nig*er and bit*h were not! USA network what werre you thinking?

Dude, that wasn't even cool what you just said there.
You know what they're saying. You're not stupid so if there's a bleep out, use your mind to figure out what they said.

I could live without programming like this at any time of the day or night. I find nothing original or creative about movies like this.

I could have swore in the movie she said it was by Missy Elliot. I looked on Google and I think it is Get Ur Freak On by Missy Elliott.

I've seen this movie, and it's hilarious.. So what's wrong in airing this? I've seen other channels even air vulgar nonsensical movies.. So what's wrong in airing this?

There is nothing wrong with airing the movie. It is very funny. However the 10PM time slot would be a little more appropriate than 10AM.JMHO
