Well, my mom saw the pilot, then told my dad and they saw a rerun, and then they liked the show (and they'd watch monk occasionally) but then they got kind of hooked on psych, and I actually was a die hard fan when the second half of season one premiered.
This topic is so nostalgic... it makes me think of the prmier of "Scary Sherry: Bianca's Toast" ahh good old season one!
(But Season two totally won me over, it was so BA!)

I was completely bored one day and channel surfing, when I stopped on Psych and it was so funny I just had to see what it was. It was a season 3 episode and I liked it so much I knew I had to keep watching it. So I ordered seasons 1 and 2 on dvd. And now it is my favorite show!

Yeah. It was before the first season. I believe Monk was talking about how it was impossible for Shawn to be a psychic. But it's been a while.
I couldn't find the one with just Monk and Shawn.
But here's one on youtube with Monk, the guy from Dead Zone, and Shawn instead.Good lord, thank you for that.
Anyway, my story:
My junior year of high school (06-07), we got a new band director who was into weird/obscure things and when he would make a reference to something like Monty Python, I was the only one who would get it. I had been a House fan since its second season and he was one as well. One day, he mentioned Psych, but I had no idea what he was talking about, so he suggested that I check it out. This was during the off-season, so there were some reruns on from the end of the first season and I liked it. I kept watching the show a few episodes into the second season but then forgot about it, and I don't remember exactly why.
Since going to university, I've gotten into several TV shows. What I did is I would choose a new show that people talk about and then proceed to watch every single episode online. I did this with Scrubs, Dexter, The Office, How I Met Your Mother, and Arrested Development. I tried getting into a few other shows, like The Big Bang Theory, 30 Rock, and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, but I just couldn't get into those as much.
Then on Monday, I'm not sure what sparked this, but I decided that I should watch Psych from the beginning. I finished season three Friday night and must say that this is one of the best shows I've ever seen.

How did I discover Psych ... ? It actually wasn't that long ago ... I caught a repeat of Earth, Wind and ... Wait for It ... the Saturday after it came out ... and I set a season recording and went and watched every previous episode online. :] In that short amount of time, I've become such a fan that my friends refuse to watch it because I talk about it so much. XD

Wow, it was really recently...My roommate last year mentioned that it was a good show, and I think I caught an episode or two with her, but never really sat down to watch it. A couple of months ago, though, I was procrastinating my way through midterms and decided to watch whatever full episodes were on the Psych site. It was "Lassie Did a Bad, Bad Thing" and "Six Feet Under the Sea" that got me hooked enough to buy the first two seasons on DVD...and now I am here - a full-fledged fan!

I've been watching Psych since the very beginning. I'll never forget those commercials with Shawn running down the alley from the pilot, advertising Psych for July. I was impatient ALLLLLL summer.

i saw the pilot of psych when the show started, and i thought it was absolutely hilarious. psych then just somehow dropped off my radar till the end of season two when i "watched" the season finale (i was on the phone the whole time). so i got online and watched the full episodes online to sort of catch myself up, then i bought the season 1 (then later 2 the day it came out >_>) and watched them all immediately, and i've been ridiculously hooked ever since.

Spelling bee was on TV. It looked interesting even though it was half way through.
So I made it a point to watch the next episode to see if it's really that good. From then on, I was hooked!
Went to find out more about it on the web.
Here, it's usually one season behind...
BUT, lucky I can watch from other source!

I like detective shows and have for years before that I was into Nancy Drew and Hardy Boy mysteries, got started on Monk and USA started showing commercials for a new series called Psych thought it looked good and decided to watch it and I was hooked. It has surpassed Monk for me in quality and now I only watch Psych. My friday nights wouldn't be the same without it. IMO

I was just channel surfing when lo and behold! my eyes chanced upon this hip, funny, and brilliant show that is Psych, specifically the Rob-a-bye Baby episode. Since that fateful day, I got hooked. Fortunately, I was able to get the DVD Season 1 and before I knew it, I was living and breathing pysch

Hey, Welcome! Always glad to have another Psych-O in the fold

I adore Rob-a-Bye Baby... even if it is bit heavy handed on the Shules

The whispered 'reveal,' Mr. Softy fistbump, and adorable Lassie in sling make it all worthwhile. I also get quite amused every time they refer to the dead guy who was drinking tea as having gotten tea-bagged (and steeped, but that one's not quite as amusing). So, nice one to start with!
Gotta love those DVD commentaries as well!

I've been with Psych since before the beginning. I saw the very first ad for the series premiere months before it came out on tv, and I immediately thought it looked hilarious (well actually my first thought was "dam, that guy is hot!)
lol!

Thanks 4 d warm welcome, I'm now officially a Psych-O...I also found the Startrek and Highlander references from that episode hilarious and the expression on Shawn's face while Jules was rambling on and on about their wedding was just priceless...and oh, I do love those commentaries
