Oh, we could have WAAAAAAAYyyyy too much fun with this one!

::wanders off to think:: Maybe I can work this into Chapter 7?

I'm sorry, I couldn't help it . . .

The Flagpole

The crime scene was an unusual one to say the least. The victim had been hung from a flag pole that was attached to the side of the building at about a sixty-five degree angle. It was two stories up, and accessible from a ledge outside of a window.

Goren and Eames surveyed the situation. Looking down at the street below, Goren looked at his partner, lifting his eyebrow slightly, as if to say, "Well, here goes."

Tentatively, he stepped out onto the ledge. I hate heights, he thought to himself, as he inched closer to the flag pole. Eames watched from the window, as her partner drew closer and closer to the victim. She had to admit that she too was experiencing that sickening feeling that heights can provoke. Still, it was an amusing sight to watch her partner at work in probably one of the only situations that would truly make him uncomfortable.

Once he reached his destination, Goren sat down on the ledge, with one leg on either side of the flag pole. Leaning out over the pole, he began his examination of the victim. He held the flag pole with his right hand, as he used his left hand to examine the ligature marks. Leaning further and further out until . . .

Eames watched as her partner suddenly demonstrated a move similar to what a five-year-old might do on the playground monkey bars. She caught her breath and instinctively reached out for him, sure that he was going to fall, but there he hung, back toward the ground, with his arms and legs wrapped around the pole.

"Eames . . . uh, could I get some help here?" Goren tremulously exclaimed as he dangled perilously from the flag pole.

Stifling a stress induced giggle, Eames replied, "I was just trying to stay out of the way. Good plan, huh?"

Good one, DetectiveC! And now how are we going to get Bobby off that flag pole?!

It was the lunch rush, you made it through your first week. Oh my, there he is again, your knees go weak and turn to wet noodles. It's that Detective from One Police Plaza, oh please let him sit in your section. He has sat in your section all week, not that it has done any good. He never speaks, except to say "Veal Parmesan and diet coke." He never even looks up, he just looks at his papers, eats and leaves. But if you could just look into those big, brown eyes, you know you would just melt. Yes! he is in your section, you look in the mirror fix you hair and walk to the table.

"May I...."

"Veal Parmasan..." he starts.

"Diet coke," you finish and turn to put in his order.

Wow that went great you tell yourself. Mario is yelling," Table 16's order is ready."

You fill up your tray, table 16 has 8 people, you still haven't gotten your waitress balancing skills down yet. Your walking toward the table, you notice out the corner of your eye, Detective Brown eyes is talking on his cell phone, he is gathering up his papers and rushing toward the door, but if you don't move you will crash right into him. You try and maneuver around the tables, but for each table you go around he goes another way. Both of you collide dumping spaghetti, lasagna and ravioli all over him.

"I was just trying to stay out of the way. Good plan, huh?" you respond, using your apron to try and get some of the mess off of him.

He grabs your hand, the two of you make eye contact, "Well even the best plans don't always work out, this time lunch is on me, but how about tonight dinner is on you," he smiles.

"Sure, it's the least I can do," you smile.

He heads for the door, "Meet you here at 8."

Okay, here goes . . .

The Flagpole 2

Detective Goren dangled there, helplessly, heart pounding, and wondering why his impulsiveness had gotten the better of him. CSI had suggested they wait until the fire department could arrive with a ladder or bucket; but oh no, he had been ready right then to begin his investigation, and he was not going to be deterred. Now, he hung there suffering the consequences.

Eames immediately sprung into action and mobilized the CSI team to get down to street level and begin the process of getting him down, while she remained at the window, trying to think of a solution.

"Can you shimmy back?" she called out to him.

He gave her an incredulous look before answering, "Eames . . . please.

"Are you okay?" she asked next.

Let's see, was he okay? His ego was definitely bruised, his arms and legs were getting tired and sore from the placement of the flagpole against his joints, and he was trying to quell a panic attack. No, he concluded, he was definitely not alright. He decided to ignore the question.

"What's the plan?" he called back.

"The fire department should be here soon," she replied. "Can I get you anything? Would you like me to come out there?"

He was growing impatient with the constant questions. What happened to staying out of the way?

"No, no. I'll be fine," he dutifully replied.

Soon after, he heard the sirens as they approached. A large fire truck pulled up along side the building, fully equipped with a ladder. Great! This was bound to be the discussion by many a water cooler for some time to come: Just how was it that Detective Goren got himself up there?

I was grinning like an idiot reading this! I honestly can SO see Goren getting himself into just that predicatment, even with Eames begging him not to. Thanks for such a fun and funny story!

"We hate having to put him in restraints, but due to his size he is just too much to handle," said the doctor.

"I understand. I hated to have to put him in here, but trying to care for his mother since his father took off has been tuff enough," said the gentlemen.

"I heard he has a brother," asked the doctor.

"He died from an overdose after their father died, Bobby was 16. I think that's what sent him over the edge. That's when I noticed the signs. He started getting paranoid, talking to people who weren't there," said the gentleman.

"Yes, he talks about being a Detective about someone named Eames, Nicole, Ross, even a killer named Mark Ford Brady being his real Father," said the doctor.

"Well when the boys were little I would take them riding in my Black Ford mustang, I guess that's where the Ford came from, but my name is Mark John Brady and I am not his Father I am his Uncle, Francis is my sister," explained Brady. "Guess just all part of his delusions."

Just then Goren broke away, and shoved the doctor and Brady aside, Brady received a heavy gash above his eye. The staff sedated Goren and brought him back to his room.

"You did this to me!" Goren shouted. "You and Nicole planned this from the beginning! What have you done with Eames!"

"Are you ok, Mr.Brady?" asked the doctor looking at the blood dripping down his forehead.

"I was just trying to stay out the way. Good plan, huh?"

They walked down the hall, still you could hear Bobby "Don't let him get away, he has Eames!"

Well in the story, it was all part of Goren's deliusion, and Francis and Brady were brother and sister.

Which, given past seasons of LOCI, makes it even creepier, IMO..... unsure.gif unsure.gif unsure.gif
