Hello, folks.

I'm a new fan of "Psych", I've been watching for about three weeks now. I saw part of a season 1 episode back when it first aired, and at the time I thought, "Eh, not too good", and didn't watch any more. Then A few weeks ago I was watching TV and saw the episode "Lassie Did A Bad Bad Thing" listed on the guide, and thought, "what the heck, I'll give it another chance." Well that episode got me hooked, and now I'm a fan. Got the Season 1 & 2 box sets and started watching the second part of Season 3 on USA. I wasn't crazy about the typical "Bad-ass cop hates main character" writing in the first 5 or 6 episodes, but since then the show has evolved and allowed for a wonderful growth of all the characters. I really think the show hit it's stride by the end of season 1 and it's been going strong since. I missed the entire first half of Season 3, so I'm hoping they re-run those episodes sometime soon.

Sorry Shaun & Gus fans, but Tim Omundson's performance as Lassiter is what caught my eye. I think it's a combination of a good character played by a great actor (Omundson is under-appreciated as an actor, in my opinion), and the fact that Lassiter is a perfectly necessary "straight-man" to Shaun's "clown". Shaun wouldn't be nearly as funny if he didn't have someone to pester and annoy. Actually, that's one of the great strengths of the show - EVERY character is necessary on some level. I also like the fact that both main cop characters (both Lassiter and Jules) are competent and effective, not just bumbling idiots as often portrayed in other shows. They have saved Shaun and Guss from trouble more than a few times.

So I am now a big Tim Omundson fan because of Lassiter on Psych. Or maybe it's the fact that I'm actually a police officer that attracts me to that character. Whatever it is, the show is great. Here's hoping Season 4 keeps the show strong!

"you should join the 'Tim O. is one hot daddy' thread :)"

Oh dear. I don't necessarily think he's a "hot daddy", but he sure isn't ugly. And he always has great hair. If you listen to the commentaries on the DVDs, Roday (I think) in one episode comments on it. He states, "And Tim always has great hair. Actually I don't think it has ever moved." I'll go ahead and add my .02 over there, though. Gotta let the Lassie fans know they gained one.

I should state that I really liked Dulé' Hill's performance in "Mr. Yang." Poor Guss had to make jokes that he knew were totally inappropriate and would just fall flat, but he willingly suffered the humiliation for his pal Shaun. He just let the air out of the room with his Michael Jackson impersonation, but my favorite was the bit with the model plane where he was King Kong.

First, welcome! Glad you've decided to join us in this merry little band of crazed Psych fans.

Second, I too am a Lassiter lover. Tim is by far my favorite actor on the show. I also love that, from his interviews, he says he is the least professional of the bunch and has the most trouble keeping the straight face, not that I blame him!

LOL, they (being the producers) have mentioned before that, in playing Psych, James is in a comedy while everyone else is in a drama. I personally think Tim doe an amazing job playing to that. biggrin.gif

WELCOME! I'm also relatively new to Psych, I've been watching for less than 2 months and I'm already obsessed enough to have seen every episode and virtually everything Psych related
tazmy
Hey, I'm new as well. smile.gif

I also think Lassie is a good character played by a good actor.

However, Dulé Hill (no idea how to do the accent) is my favorite. I loved him on the West Wing, and though Gus is a very different character, I can really relate. I've been watching season one for the last few months and just finished the box set.

I did manage to watch all of season three (with the exception of one episode), but I don't think it was until the very last episode that I became more than a passive fan. The acting from nearly everyone completely sold me on the series and now I can't stop googling the show and trying to find other fans.

I want to find people I can talk to about the last episode, so I may go over to that thread and see what folks are saying.

no thats ok alot of people spell it wrong

Kinda new fan also. Had started watching a while back—can't remember why I stopped--it's a great show. But, caught pretty much all of this season, as well as some of the previous ones. Watching re-runs as much as possible—trying to catch up on the rest. I know it's the Shawn and Gus show, but my favorite character so far is Lassie.

(And, since I'm relatively new to this Board I'm apologizing beforehand. At any given time what I write will defy all known laws of spelling, grammar, sentence structure, and punctuation. Even so, will try hard to make it make sense.)
