"Hello!" Olivia called as she walked into her house and dropped her keys into a light blue bowl by the door "Elliot, you here?"
After a moment of silence Olivia shrugged her shoulders and muttered "Guess not." so she opened the coat closet and hung up her coat. All of a sudden she felt someone close her eyes and whisper "Boo." Olivia smiled and the voice continued "Guess who?"
Olivia turned around and said "You." She kissed him and whispered "Hey."
"Hi" He replied.
Olivia slipped off her shoes and Elliot lifted her on his feet and they danced around in the hall way like a little girl's dance with her father at a wedding.
"So..." Elliot mused "How was your day?"
Olivia laughed "Good, yours?"
Elliot smiled and casually stated "You know, rape, torture, murder. How was the job search?"
Elliot spun them around and Olivia rested her head on his shoulder. "They all ask the same questions." She sighed
"What do you mean?" He laughed.
"So, you have been a cop your whole life? Why did you leave your job?" Olivia mimicked "I would always answer the same thing 'because I fell in love' and they would laugh or smile then say thank you for your time."
Elliot laughed and Olivia looked around, they had made their way to the kitchen so she hopped off the ride and laughed “Thanks for the ride” Olivia laughed again and went over to the refrigerator “So… What do you want for dinner? Leftover mu shu pork or…” Olivia opened up the freezer “Some tombstone pizza?” She turned her head to see what Elliot would say.
“Nothing” He said with a smile
Olivia brushed that off and said “Fine by me, I’ll have the mu shu.”
“Well,” Elliot replied “I guess I’ll have to go out to eat by my self” He turned for the door.
Olivia hopped up on to the counter and slid over to where he was, “Oh really?” She challenged
“Yeah, and I’ll have to wear a very, very sexy red dress with heels while I’m at it”
Olivia looked at him “You didn’t”
He laughed and said “Okay, I didn’t. So there isn’t a dry cleaner’s bag with a very sexy red dress and a black box in the closet?”
Olivia’s eye’s lit up like a child’s on Christmas morning and that made Elliot’s day, it was what he lived for.
“Go check” He said and Olivia darted up the stairs.
She opened up the closet suits, dresses, dry cleaner’s bag. Olivia looked on the shelf above it and there it was a back white stag box. “El!” She called and turned around as he came through the door.
“Yes, Love?”
Olivia smiled and whispered “You shouldn’t have.”
“Well, I did.” He smiled “So are you going to put it on or will I? ’Cause we have dinner reservations at seven thirty.”
Olivia smiled and ran into the bathroom, she thought about texting Casey but she figured she was on a date. She unzipped the bag she didn’t know what to expect, but it was beautiful. A red dress, knee-length, a corset like bodice, and a black sequin border on the puffy skirt. wow that’s beautiful, he sure knows how to pick out a dress
She got ready and walked out to the living room where Elliot was sitting there in a gorgeous tux.
“El,” She said softly.
“Hey, beautiful” He replied while standing up. “Like it? I didn’t even have to rent it.”
“Wow, you look sexy as hell.”
Elliot smirked and thought “not as sexy as you”
Elliot and Olivia hopped a cab and went to Je t’aime a romantic French restaurant about two miles from their house.
“Welcome to Je t’aime, how many?” A hostess said in a very thick French accent.
“Yes,” Elliot said thinking aloud “Oh, we have a 7:30 reservation, the name is Stabler.”
“Oh, oui” She said and led them to their candle lit table.
“Oh, El, this is beautiful.”
Elliot smiled, mission accomplished, almost.
They sat and drank and ate for and hour then they asked for a check.
Their waiter, Jeanne-Marie, gave them the check and Elliot scanned it at the bottom there was a little note that read: service compris. Elliot smiled at that then set his credit card down.
“Olivia” Elliot said after Jeanne Marie took the check away. “Can I ask you something?”
“Yeah, Elliot, anything. You know that.” She said with a smile.
“Okay, good. Well, um, I don’t know what to, um, how to, um, say this.” Elliot stuttered he pulled out a purple velvet box “Liv, Olivia Benson” Elliot gave up on stumbling over his words “Here.” He handed Olivia the box even though Olivia was pretty sure what it was.
“El” She whispered with tears in her eyes as she opened the box. “Elliot. I don’t know what to say!” Damn I hate when people say that! “Yes, Elliot!” Olivia exclaimed.
Elliot felt a big load lift off his shoulders and he started to laughed
“Okay! Then lets do this right” He said taking the box back from her. “Olivia Marie Benson, will you be my wife?”
Olivia shook her head yes and kissed him.
“So,” He mused, “Mrs. Soon to be Stabler, would you like to call anyone?”
“That can wait.” Olivia said seductively
“Really?” Elliot questioned with the same thoughts running through both of their minds.
They hopped a cab to get back to their place but they could barely keep their hands off of each other. After they got into the apartment Elliot pressed his lips to hers and she kissed back, their tongues exploring the other’s mouth. They somehow made their way up the stairs of the split floor condo. 3 steps, a drunk could maneuver that. Then throughout the silent apartment the slam of the bedroom door echoed, then silence flooded the apartment again.
