I would like to see a Psych and Monk crossover episode before Monk ends and since next season it's the last opportunity for this. Is there anyone else that wants to see this happen?

I love Psych. And I like Monk just fine. But I do NOT want them to do a crossover episode. I just feel like that would be a little cheesy, and that they're separate enough worlds that I might hate it if they put them together. They may both be based in California, and it may be Monk's last season, and Monk may have been USA's first really big award-winning show, but I don't think those are good enough reasons to do a crossover.
I don't see how you would really even justify it. Monk wouldn't need Shawn, and Shawn certainly couldn't need Monk, lest he seem un-psychic and inadequate.

I guess how I picture the episode isn't so much one needing the other in fact i see them getting in each other way more than anything. the plot line that i can see working the best is there's a killer that's killed in San Francisco and Santa Barbara. And it's more of a jurisdictional thing where they are both trying to catch the same killer but one would need to be in the others city.

yes, myself and moreso the co-host of the Psych Fans podcast have mentioned this a number of times. Going back to those ads where they show Shawn and Monk trying to solve a case at the same time and place.
Either they should do one next season, being Monk's final one, or if not, have Monk and Natalie and given the budget necessary, have the other cast of Monk guest appear on a Psych episode.
The plots could be like Kim talked about, having a crime in both SF and Santa Barbara with similar circumstances, but requiring both Shawn and Monk to determine who was involved. Maybe even have more than 1 culprit..like a team working together or something.

While I don't think it would be quite as exciting... the crossover could be fairly small as well... Lassiter and Jules having a crime seminar from Monk, while back in Santa Barbara Shawn and Gus and McNabb were solving another crime.
Like I said, not as much fun... but for a crossover to be present, you don't *have* to have the entire cast interacting, a B storyline can contain the crossover... a single character can be used for a crossover. It doesn't have to be a big production that makes things awkward and forced.
Not to mention, both shows have brilliant writers who I'm sure could make it work.
Though... were does Monk film? I know, for budget, Psych films in Vancouver... but I hadn't thought about Monk... anyone know?

Well, the idea sounds cool, but in reality it wouldn't work. The two wouldn't need each other, seeing as how they both have the same set of skills. It would kind of make Shawn seem like he wasn't psychic.

The only way I can think of that they'd be able to work together would be Trudy's case, since Monk can never get very far with it.
That's the only way I could see it working.

I think the boys would totally freak Monk out.....and I don't know how comfy Lassiter would be with Monk....so all it all, it would definitely be an interesting mix....
Thought of saying t'would be interesting to have a Psych/BN crossover....But Fi would DEFINITELY want to shoot them (and things got nutz enough, Lass and Mike might help.....JK!!!!)

i think that a psych/monk show would be really hard to do because you've got two very different types of detectives. don't get me wrong i'd still really love to see it, but sadly i just don't think i could see it happening >_<

Monk meets Shawn commercial from 2006Thank you for posting that! I looked for it on youtube and could only find the one with Shawn and the guy from Dead Zone.
I voted no originally because I used to read a lot of fanfics. And most of the cross-overs weren't very good. But the more I think about it, the more I think that it might work.
And now I'm in the if-it-happens-that's-awesome-if-not-I-won't-be-disappointed camp.

I voted yes just because I would love to see it. I can see both sides of the issue though- if they were to do it, I'd be super excited. If they don't do it though, it wouldn't really bother me either.

I would really like to see it but I just don't know if it would be realistic to make it work.
