I must say that the replacement of Ron Reagan with Mary Carillo was refreshing. While she has some homework to do concerning her breeds, functions, etc., her delivery was crisp and she demonstrated a sense of humor. Please bring her back in the future.

You MUST be JOKING!!! Mary Carillo made totally STUPID and JUVENILE comments proving her TOTAL IGNORANCE!!! I thought I was watching that comedy movie Best In Show because of her. SIX grueling hours of her TOTAL STUPIDITY could be considered a form of TORTURE!!!

Ron Reagan did the shows on Animal Planet. I do not recall him being one of the hosts of Westminster.

Mary Carillo was a joke ! She knows absolutely nothing about dogs! I hope Westminster finds someone more savvy for the job next year !

I'd like to concur, with Mary Carillo being the wrong person to cohost Westminster.
I found her to be monotone, and just overall unappealing on many levels.
I know it's the job, for the cohost, to perhaps play dumb, to have David, answer the questions that might be on
the audiences minds, that might not know much about the breeds and show.
She was just blase. I didn't feel the excitement in her voice or the chemistry between them.

Please, if any of the powers that be, read this board, please let it be her first and last appearance,
hosting this event. Bring back Lester Holt or Ron Reagan Jr.

I agree, Mary Carillo was totally the wrong person to host westminster. She at least should have done her homework, and asked questions that didn't border on the moronic. I know they need a lead in to the expert on the announcing panel, but the questions could have been a little more intellegent.

Her voice was monotone and annoying....she sounded like she should have been announcing at a hunt club match....

I must say I thought Mary Carillo was a distraction and not a good one. Her wooden performance and lack of education about the breeds was inexcusable. I am sure she was paid very well and should have taken the time to study up on the breeds and handlers. I got the sense that she never had a dog and didn't understand nor care to about the breeds. Having seen her with Tennis players and Olympic athletes I know she can be very knowledgeable about different sports and sport figures. Watching her this time made me think that she didn't really take the dog show seriously as a viable sport and competition.

If they do invite her back for next year maybe she will understand that dog show people take the shows as seriously or even more seriously than tennis fans, and try to have some reasonable and enlightening dialog.

Otherwise please USA please do not invite her back. Tiffany Simons did a better job at the interviews and I suspect she was placed out there as the young lightweight to counterbalance Ms. Carillo and Mr. Frei, unfortunately for Ms. Carillo, Ms. Simons was a much better draw, interviewer and looked like a true animal lover. (Although on a fashion note next year black shoes with the black dress, the off white ones were a distraction that the producer and camera person should have caught on to quickly.)

Did Ron Reagan host the show last year??? I missed it last year because I was living in the middle of nowhere and we did not have cable. It was the FIRST time we had ever missed it.

I am in awe that there is a person in the WKC show audience that thought Mary Carillo was a good sidekick to David Frei. I was insulted by her cavalier attitude about the show and her "jokes" only revealed how little she really knew and proved she had not done her homework about the breeds or about the listening audience. I truly hope they do not bring her back next year. They need to find another commentator who really understands the business - either a breeder or a professional handler or a judge, who can bring added value to the show rather than make light of what to some is very serious business. I also hope they find another "behind the scenes" person to do the interviews after group.

Ron Reagan did Crufts not WKC, I am not sure why his name appeared with this dog show. Another point, David Frei tried to speak intelligently but was brought down to Carillo's level by her inane comments. He had no place to go given that she gave him no place to take the conversation. Thank goodness for the dogs and for the ring announcer. If it weren't for them, it would have been even more painful to watch.

I'm glad so many others felt the same way. I hope they replace her next year...she simply did not do her homework, did not do a professional job (IMO), and Detracted rather than Added to the show. I was very disapointed and it did affect my ability to enjoy the show.

I have to agree, two thumbs DOWN for Miss Carillo. She had about as much personality and excitment in her voice as the
TEACHER on Peanuts. Mua Mua Mua! Hope they find the appropriate side kick for David Next year. Joe was good, wasn't he.
