Holy crap! If you saw the preview for this, you know this is definitely going to be scary! No camp songs this time at Camp Tiki Barber!! (Those who saw Bounty Hunters! will get that). Shawn and Gus investigate a camp counselor disappearance near abandoned camp grounds. Justine Bateman (Family Ties) guest stars as Lassiter long talk about wife, Victoria! Steve Franks and James Roday wrote this with James also directing this episode. How ironic that this is airing on Friday the 13th and the new version of Friday the 13th hits movie theaters on Friday the 13th!

James must have a thing for horror movies. First he wrote Scary Sherry and in the commentary he kept talking about the gruesome ways they thought up for her to die, and now from the preview last night, this episode looks pretty scary. I hope it's not too scary. I much prefer comedy to horror.

I totally agree! I can't wait for this episode!!! I like when they show something you're not used to seeing on Psych and I love how they make special episodes to go along with events( for example they made a football episode bacause of the Superbowl and now they made a scary episode for Friday the 13th)
I know that there are going to be people who are gonna hate this episode because it's scary and they think that Psych should remain funny. Although, if you are one of those people, don't give up on the episode just yet. This is probably a one-time thing and the writers are having fun. Also, some of the funniest Psych moments have happened when Shawn and Gus were scared
anyway, can't wait!! The last two episodes of this season are going to be intense and i'm soo excited!!

When they first started showing the preview, I was wondering if it was a new horror movie coming out, then I saw Shawn and Gus and was like OMG! That looks SOOOO cool! I'm so excited I can't even say. It looks amazing. I hope it is super scary and crazy. Shawn in danger woohoo!
And I just (re)watched Bounty Hunters! that morning, so it was especially funny. Anyone know where I can watch the preview again?

For everyone who is worried about the "scaryness" of this episodde,
i think you can rest assured that its not really going to be that scary.
i personally didnt get really spooked in scary sherry... well at one point i almost cried cuz i thought juliet was going to kill someone... haha.... but thats the thing... its not really scary... its like a parody of horror movies.
(( um hello? she got killed by a toaster! ))
i have a feeling that this episode might be "scary" but its gonna be your typical "OMG dont open the door!"
type stuff. its sposed to make you laugh.
cant wait to see how it turns out tho! james writing and directing! i'm so proud ! haha.
and yes, the B storyline is about lassiter trying to get back together with his wife (justine bateman)

I was thinking that same thing. It's probably intentional. I'm a huge horror buff and I can't wait to see this episode. I've loved all the episodes that James has written and I'm very eager to see how his directing skills play out. So far, I've been good at staying spoiler free about this episode. I don't want to ruin any of the surprises that may pop up.

I'm super excited about this episode! I'm not really a fan of scary movies but I think the episode looks good, anyway. I hope that Lassie doesn't get back with his wife, and they're just tying up loose ends with his divorce. After hearing about how Lassie was the one who was trying to fix their problems for a year(I think that's how long...it's said in
Earth to Starbucks) I feel like him getting back together with her would be unfair to him, almost. Jeez, I'm not explaining that well, but I hope someone understands what I'm getting at.

Whoa. The picture of the Yin Yang (speaking of which, does anyone know who will guest star as him?) guy chasing Shawn reminds me exactly of my summer camp, Camp Newaygo. The cabins look exactly the same as those for younger kids.
I was watching the preview, and to no one in paritcular, I said, "God, I hate horror movies!" And then I see Shawn and Gus screaming like little girls and laugh, and shout, "NEVERMIND!" =D I'm so excited, I can't wait to see how James Roday helped direct!

And since I'll have to wait at least until Saturday (I can't watch it tonight

I hate horror stuff, but some scary is okay - and I'd assume since Psych is pretty much "family fare" that they wouldn't have anything too bad in it ...

never seen so much emotion from lassie --when he made that " letting go of you speech"??? I teared up. --phenomenal acting/ writing.
&&that music to go along with it when she walked out?! seriously psych writers? way to step up their game in the drama & angst department ....simply amazing.<3
----
the shawn and juliet interaction has once again kept me smiling ear to ear, I loved her reaction when he called her fine...adorable. --for some reason she always seems surprised when he complements her...haha silly, jules.<3
LOVE how worried they both were about each other going out into danger, so sweet & the last scene with him thanking her....him of course finding a way to flirt with her even then, haha.=)
-----
the funny moments were also right on point as usual.
shawn's scream =) awesome.

OH MY GOSH that was amazing, so amazing. loved it. the end was hilarious (and the psych out, even funnier) but for most of the episode I was actually in suspense. I like the false resolution in the middle and basically how campy and stereotypical the murders were, because they kept referring to slasher movies so it really worked. I'm still all goosebumpy. James definitely found success in his directorial debut. and OMG NEXT WEEK looks soooo good and so personal for Shawn. I love when James gets to show off his serious acting chops and all the heightened emotion makes for great Shules interaction.

I didn't get it either. But I have a feeling I missed a ton of references in this episode, because I've never seen the
Friday the 13th movies. Too chicken.

Still, I thought this episode was excellent. Lots of twists, great humor, and FANTASTIC Shawn/Jules interaction. I loved it when he was trying to be all brave to impress her. So adorable!

...thats one of the things that is so amazing about psych ...it can't be classified as a comedy or drama.
the writers are FANTASTIC at balancing the funny with the serious scenes ...c'mon shawn's scream? his little banter with gus after he threw him the pole?
it makes the show & characters more real ... as well it being great for the actors to grow & to broadcast their talent.
james is aaaamazing in front of the camera and now we have another taste of his writing skills & behind the camera talent.
& the shawn and jules interaction? whether you like them as a t.v couple or not...it's important to developing their characters.
