I was born and raised in Texas (Dallas area), but in 1996 I moved to Seattle. I love it here, but I do miss Texas occasionally-except when it's over 100 degrees there! laugh.gif

That's very cool to have a thread for people from Texas! It's such a unique state. When we moved to Seattle I had always thought that the cowboys, cowboy boots, and western theme was just a stereotyping of people in the state. I never really noticed it before when I lived tthere. However, we went back for a visit and I was amazed. Texas really IS like that! And I mean that in a good way!

I just finished reading a romance novel by this woman from Texas and she resides there. However, she really knew her stuff; talking about things I hadn't thought about in years; yellow roses, fire ants (I DON'T miss those!), and bluebonnets! It really made me miss Texas! Good thing I'm going back for a short visit this summer!
