I was watching an episode of Psych and they did this move called the Jackal move or mode. Does anyone know what that is? My boyfriend and i are going crazy trying to figure it out.

This is a reference to an earlier episode of Psych (From Earth to Starbucks), in which Gus discovered that Shawn had been working on his skills by tailing Gus around town. The following conversation ensues (from this site):

Shawn: Look, some guy dies at a space center that you frequently sneak off to? We gotta get down there, and we gotta do some serious...space digging.
Gus: No, we don't. As a matter of fact, now that I know you're tailing me while I'm at work, get ready to get lost in my dust.
Shawn: OK, dust? What, are you going off-roading?
Gus: I'm gonna be uncatchable, like a jackal.
Shawn: Like a jackal... How about I just tail you to the observatory?
Gus: Consider me stealth, Shawn. (moves head back and forth)
Shawn: Dude, that's weird. It's like you're a bobble head.

Following this interaction/conversation, there's a scene where Gus is going to the aforementioned 'space center' and it going around the parking lot, checking that Shawn has not followed him. When he arrives at the space center, Shawn is already there, working, and picks up the phone and over the intercom announces, "The Jackal has arrived."

Gus, therefore, considers "Jackal mode" a form of stealth mode... and asking Shawn to "Flip the Jackal switch" in the episode which you saw and are referring was a reference to this previous interaction.

Whether the actual reference to Gus being a jackal referenced this film "The Day of the Jackal", or this film "The Jackal", or the animal we never really know for sure, but I think all are plausible.
