Has anyone else noticed how Gus' sister just popped out of nowhere? In "Gus' Dad May Have Killed An Old Guy" wouldn't you think that after his parents were arrested, they'd say something like, "Gus, please call your sister, and tell her not to worry" or something along those lines. And through the series, there is no hint of a sister until a year later at the next Christmas episode. All of a sudden... BAM! Gus is not an only child anymore.

Does anyone else find this weird? Should this even bother me?

It doesn't really bother me all that much... in fact, I could see Gus having other, yet unknown to us the audience, siblings besides Joy. I don't recall them ever specifying that Gus was an only child, and it isn't abnormal for adult children to not be present at Christmas, especially if they've moved away, have a job, busy with their own life. All the more reason for Gus' parents to be overly concerned about him, since he doesn't have enough of his own life to not be spending Christmas with them.

I do think it would be very odd if Shawn suddenly had a sibling or siblings pop up out of nowhere, but any other family would be fine (and we known of dad, mom, grandpa, and uncle so far). Pet are fine too, since they do seem to keep bringing them up randomly (odd that Henry wouldn't consider a dog, but a rabbit was fine?).

::shurgs:: Then again, I'm rarely critical of these things. They pointed out on the commentary for "Down the Stretch Comes Murder" that they originally wrote that Lassie was terrified of horses, but that fans would crucify them if it was left that way because he had been on a horse in Weekend Warrior. If not for the commentary, I would have never thought of it or realized it.
