hi.
i'm planning to go to the westminster show with a general admission ticket for the 2nd night. its going to be my first time so im hoping someone will let me know if it is possible for me to go in the morning since i had wanted to see a few of the breed selections, then since i have class that afternoon i was thinking of leaving to go to class and then returning that night so see the group selections. my question is would i be able to leave the venue and then come back? or once i exit will i not be allowed to re-enter?
thanks for your help.

I am not sure if they stamp your hand or that they mark your ticket. But of course you can go back in later on. You have paid your admission. Ask one of the nice guys that check your ticket on the concourse just before you go up the escalators they will give you the run down. I think they only take part of your ticket and you keep the rest.

I keep my ticket in a plastic credentials thing that goes around my neck. This way, I just flash it to them after my initial admission.

Do understand that you do not get to go down on the floor with your General Admission, only people with purple exhibitor or special tickets can be down there. You don't want to be down there anyway. It is a zoo. Best to go pic out your seat and have a great day watching the breed classes.

By the way, here is the judging schedule for the breed classes. I will be there with the Toy Manchester Terriers.
They show at 2:45pm in ring 1

Hope this helped. Have a great time.

Just wanted to thank you for your response. It was really helpful. Also, I saw that on the judging schedule there was a layout of the location of the rings on the floor and also the vendors and benching area. The benching area is where the dogs are right? I was hoping to be able to meet or at least see a Newfoundland. With a general adimission ticket would i be able to go down to those areas? When would be the best time for me to go there if I could? I'm guessing it'll be better after the newf breed classes? is there a particular hour when its less crowded? Again, thank you for your response. I really appreciate it.

You can go to the benching area anytime. I would hit the newfy area after they show. It is so much easier on the people working with the dogs. The dogs have to stay in the benching area until 8pm each day, so you have plenty of time to hit them up.

Get there before they show. Watch them and then follow them back to their area. Some may be with handlers, but the handlers have more dogs to show, so they are very busy and are not as available as much as the owners and breeders are. Go where the majority of the breed is benched. There you will more than likely meet the breeders and owners. They will be more than willing to give you information about the breed etc. This is what a bench show is all about. They may even have handouts. Breeders will want to share their knowledge of their breed. You will find that it is a passion, not just a interest. The more one can inform someone about a breed, the better for the breed.

As for being crowded, 7am? or earlier LOL

Have a great time!!
