Ok, everyone. We're all thrilled to have so many wonderful and varied opinions on this board, but the number of repeat topic threads is starting to drive some of us NUTZ...so before we either start WWIII or chase anyone, new or old, off the board, I have a suggestion.

New folk, If you have a comment or question about something, and don't happen to see it posted anywhere on the board, pop it in here first...Then if one of the 'seasoned' posters knows where the discussion may already be...they can be friendly and helpful and post the link to the thread, if there isn't one, and it's a 'one and done' kind of thing...we can answer it right here...if it requires deeper discussion, we'll all see that, and you can move on and weave in your brandy-new thread to our happy little board.....

Do you have to be literate on te board? I know that you have to use real words, not text talk but what if we don't capatilize something right or spell something right. People seem to be uptight about that.

Technically, I don't know if you qual as a newbie, Olivia...but I'll hit this bad boy....


Yeah, spelling issue do drive a few peeps nutzo on this board (which prob makes me one of the worst 'offenders' )...so I would say, do your best...slow yourself down if you manage to hit alot of tyoes (like Ido ), if you know know you're spelling is bluddy aufull, either check the little red lines that pop under the misspelled words (at least on my screen), right click and do your best, or type it in Word or sim program and hit spell check, then after copy paste into the screen (how do you think I've managed to stay afloat in Questions )

I find I misspell the words I think I know how to spell, then I find myself on Dictionary.com.

Ha! Same here! Most of the time.

ILYOLVIA we all make mistakes and we all misspell words now and then I think as long as it's not excessive, or done on purpose it's cool. Once in awhile is fine that doesn't bother me, what bothers me is the same person who was complaining about stuff like that a few weeks back is now spelling "because" "becuz" HELLO! If you're going to preach about something IMHO you should be committed enough to do the thing you're preaching about, you know?

Okie dokie, I've edited my original post in this thread to include some of the more frequently asked questions / discussion topics. So I consider this a “pay it forward” kind of thing - a list of things that I know I would’ve found helpful as a new member. I know that there are other threads out there that are quite interesting, but I figured that this would be a good starting point for new members. Okay I'm not exactly a newbie, but I do have a question. Now before I ask, I just want to say I tried to find the answer using the search engine... forget it!! I typed in Fiona's Saab (nothing), Fiona's car(nothing), Turn and Burn (now this brought me 10 pages of posts)

I gave up so now I'm asking here.

What are the chances Fiona's Saab is registered and insured? And if it is who's name do you think it's under?

WOW! That's a great question. Hmmm. . . well that dude did give it to Michael in "Breaking and Entering" so maybe he traded it over to Michael and put it in his name. Of course it could still be in his name since he just gave the car to Michael. As to it being insured, well if it is I would wonder what kind of coverage they have?

Yeah okay, I see where your coming from. They could simply put in a change of address form at the post office and just keep it in Jimmy's name. As long as they keep paying on both the registration and insurance no one would be the wiser. They could just pay by money order. Of course they would also get all his mail, but keeping their anonymity and breaking a few federal statutes wouldn't be beyond them as long as no one got hurt. Right?

Okay clarification needed here. I do not condone this behavior, it's just what a group of fictional spy characters might do in order to keep their business to themselves.

OMG I wasn't even thinking that way I just thought maybe Jimmy just handed over the car to Michael and just kept his name on the paperwork, perhaps. Either that or he signed over his pink slip to Michael and who knows what happened after that? I mean we know according to "Trust Me" that Michael gave Fi the car but does she own it, own it or did he just give it to her? Kind of like that PT Cruiser that Fi was driving for a bit in season one, where did it come from? It was just kind of the mystery car.

I sort of assumed that Fi just kept stealing cars, keeping them for awhile then ditching them after they got too hot with the authorities.

As far as insurance goes I can't see her having anything but liability, after all if Fiona isn't named on the insurance then there would be no payout. Although, I suppose she could just put herself on the liability, forging Jimmy's name. Not sure Fi would want her name on anything though, with those old associates sniffing around for her. I thinks it might be wise to try and get a new identity for Fi from Lucy. What do you think, and how do you think it could happen?

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, Diana - that Fi needs a backup identity for insurance purposes...

I kind of figure that Fiona can talk her way out of having to get an insurance company involved - maybe she would just pay for the damage out of pocket? Although it seems more often than not Sam, Michael, and Fi tend to do the "hit and run" thing... (of course, most of the people whose cars they crash are a little shady and/or bad guys, lol)

I still wonder if...never mind, I agree Phi...they would probably pay OOP, maybe carrying fake id 'if' they were ever innocently pulled over...

I was thinking along the lines of disposable...but could you imagine Mike EVER getting rid of the Charger!!!!! Nate would Burn him himself!!!!

I have a question. I see that someone has just asked a question about a song from "Old Friends" (season 1) and I was wondering, how is the Burn Notice Soundtrack thread organized? Is the information at the top of the page the most up to date info on all of the songs from the episodes? Or is the information that is most current at the end of the thread? I've gone into that thread on more than a few occasions but somehow I always confuse myself, I'm not sure why.

I'm so glad we have this "Cliff Notes" place where we can ask questions like this! This is great.

Hey Phi, the Burn Notice Soundtrack... did start out as the first post was current(GetBurned -appreciate all your work) He kept editing it to be the most current information. But then it got bigger and bigger; now there is info through out the thread. Mr Nix even commented on there too. Many of us are looking for a song from the BadBloodEpisode (Even MrNix commented about it ) and no one can track it down. But it is a great thread for all the music nuts thanks again GB. Peace, Gia

If this is the same person it says he was a Filmographer. He sadly passed away in August 2008.

i am not a newbie but do have a question that I could not find the answer to...
Does anyone else (besides me of course) want to see some flashbacks within the epi's? How about the first time Mike and Fi meet? or Sam and Mike? or Sam and Fi? or flashbacks of assignments that Mike has been on? Flashbacks of Sam? I realize Sam flashbacks may be difficult but they can do wonders with makeup and computers these days! LOL. Sam I would especially love to see-can never have enough Bruce!

I'm totally on board the flashback train! I would love to see Michael and Fi's first meeting as well as Sam and Michael's I think that would be very interesting. I would also love to see how Sam made that deal go south for Fi that was mentioned in "Identity".

Heh, heh. I'm on the train with all y'all! So much back-story, so much material if the show needs to leave Miami! Or if the formula gets a little stale after another couple of seasons!

That's a good point about the search engine...although IIII dunno - I've put in things like the word "Miami" and would come up with several pages of threads that had nothing to do with Miami, so who knows.

I'm tellin' you "Sybil" I swear the thing is run by her or one of her many alters. I have an idea type in a thread title that makes no sense what so ever, like "the crow flies at midnight" or something and I bet that this thread will pop up when you search "FAQ"!

Re: flashbacks:

Dramamama, I saw your note over on the episode discussion thread about picking up an avatar/”icon thingy” at the hardware store, lol -- and I thought I’d mention it over here as perhaps one of the talented graphics people on the BN forum could assist you if you wanted something designed for you. I don’t know how to do any of the fancy pants graphics stuff that others know how to do, but both Jenna and Gia were sweet enough to make some avatars for me. I just love my Barry avatar and admire it often.

Anyway, I was wondering if those who have used general pictures for their avatars, if they could give me some general advice that I could pass along to Dramamama and oldladylovesspys? I mean, if you have a picture you want to use, do you have to resize it and make it smaller? I was so fortunate to have both Gia and Jen as they took care of all of this for me and I’ve had the same avatar ever since so I honestly know nothing about this…

Is anyone here getting the text updates about Burn Notice? I've tried numerous times, both through my cell and on the web, and I guess my provider doesn't allow those kinds of messages or something. Think it has something to do with the number to text to not being a regular cell number, maybe.

So, anyway. Does anyone get them? What are they like? I get the email reminders about the upcoming episode the day it's to air (as if I could forget what day it is... please!). Are they just text versions of those? Or are they really neat?

I get the BN updates on Facebook. They remind me of the email updates they send out.
