Loci new episode begins Nov.7,2008@9pm, EST on USA. The name of the new episode is called "Faithfully', introducing Jeff Goldblum. The twist's and turn's in the 8th season of LOCI. Sounds exciting guys! What's your opinion? unsure.gif Change has been made, unforunately, per USA, the new episode's will not begin until 2009, in order not to interrupt all scheduled new episodes. I'm sorry guys, They sure had our hopes up for next Friday, Nov.7, 2008@ 9pm EST on USA! Again, I changed the topic, I'm not sure when in 2009 the new episodes will begin. As soon as I find out, I'll change the topic again to the official new episode date. Thanks, KRod wink.gif I think I corrected this, if not, please let me know. smile.gif I understood both teams will be in this episode, if I'm wrong, I'll be glad to change it.

i have no interest in the jeff goldblum episodes, and feel cheated that the first new show doesn't let us see how bobby and alex have been affected by declan's revelation. so i guess i'll be looking for the next episode to air. also, i am sure you meant obama/biden.
omerta3
The first episode is not with Jeff Goldblum. It's a Goren/Eames episode.

At this point I don't care what the first episode is about as long as I get to see Bobby!!! I could care less about J.G., I understand he is a necessary evil if we want Vincent to stay on the show. biggrin.gif
babs118
okay, i am just waiting for bobby, as well. what is the date for the first episode, please? i understand about the need for the alternating character, just will be skipping those the same way i skipped the mike logan shows. i can find other things to do, as i am sure we all can.

Has anyone else seen the new "commercial" with JG and JN on USA? I saw it during the L&O:SVU marathon they had on today (10/11).

It was just a 30 second vingnette of the 2 characters (Zach and Wheeler) chatting while they decide who should cuff the perp. After JN does it he asks her - "was it good for you?" She also asked him if he was "nervous about his first day with his new partner".

Kinda cute. It does seem like Jeff is playing Jeff - as many have suspected. I actually like Jeff being Jeff, so it may all be OK after all.

I quess we will see inabout 3 1/2 weeks.

What did you mean by that last comment? What does Obama/Biden have to do with LOCI? blink.gif

That's what Firefall said when he/she made a more-but-differently detailed version of this announcement a few weeks ago. I'm trying to be far-sightedly philosophical about this. If missing D'Onofrio when we get back means he'll be the last thing we see before drifting across the next void, I'm all for it.

But it would be impolite of him not to show up long enough to welcome -- or distractedly ignore -- the new detective.

I have noticed that the regular time for CI now is Fridays at 9pm. I never watch TV on Friday nights. Guess I will be now!

Friday??? That worries me, because of low viewership on Fridays... No, wait!! Monk does very well on Friday night.... Maybe I shouldn't worry... huh.gif

I don't think the Friday listing is a mistake, since the USA Schedule for November, lists 3 New Episodes all with first airings on Fridays at 9PM:

F 11/07 8.1 Faithfully (Goren/Eames)
F 11/14 8.2 The Glory that Was . . . (Nichols/Wheeler)
F 11/21 8.3 Folie a Deux (Goren/Eames)
F 11/28 No New Episode (but then networks rarely show new episodes of any programs during Thanksgiving Weekend)
No Date Yet 8.4 Astoria Helen (Nichols/Wheeler)

We now have at least three (3) Season 8 Threads; isn't that enough?

1) Season 8 New (Renewed) started 03/16/08 by Bubba Bridges
2) Start date fo Season eight announced started 08/04/08 by cat lady
3) LOCI Season 8: New episode is Nov 7, 2008 9 EST on USA started 10/11/08 by krodgers

Oh, and it might be interesting to have Goren and Monk (the two quirkiest detectives currently on TV) back-to-back on Friday nights. Think what a wild "cross-over" episode that pair could make; Goren poking his fingers (and nose) into everything in sight and Monk with his fastidiousness (and the "wipes").

Sorry to say, SAG might still go on strike, maybe before the end of November. See the Negotiations Thread for better details.

(Red indicates additions made to this post on 10/16/08.)

Love it, heh heh heh. I'd love to see Goren's reaction if Monk handed him some wipes. But I can't see VDO doing it in an episode. Maybe as a promo. Ha, chuckle snort.

That's how I'll greet the new guy - distractedly ignore him.... It's mostly what I did with Logan because I started watching this show for VDO/Goren and that is who I'll always watch it for.

I do appreciate that they found a way for Vince to work with out harming his health.

I'm not worried, just concerned. The more they move a show around sometimes it means trouble for the show. This is about the third time (I'm not sure about this number, okay?) that they have moved CI. Perhaps they just wanted 2 great shows (CI and Starter Wife) on the same night. That makes sense. I have always liked Jeff Goldblum and he is kind of off the wall like Bobby so I think it will work out. Can't wait for the new show!!

I don't know if I'll finish filling out my absentee ballot in time to mail it. I haven't counted, but there are a lot of propositions and the booklet is thick! By the time I read through them and make my decision, it'll be November 4! But that's OK. I do like taking it in to the polling place and getting my sticker. Prop 8 was easy, now on to the other 5,000 propositions!

You must be from California. Many of them are so long and complicated, I simply don't want to read them; much less trying to determine the differences between "pairs" on the same topic. At least, as an Absentee Voters (so am I), we can sit, read, and mark one or two at a time. I think it would be real difficult to get in the Voters booth and have to determine which is which of all of them at once. (Note: If you don't get it mailed on time, an Absentee Ballot can be dropped off at any polling place on Election Day.)

Det. Zach Nichols
After September, 11th 2001, Detective Zach Nichols left the police force to discover the meaning of life. But a cerebral, quirky and efficient cop doesn't stay away for long. Now, Det. Nichols' Socratic approach to crime scene investigation has his new partner, Det. Wheeler, and his old partner, Captain Ross, just trying to keep up.

A child of two psychiatrists, Nichols naturally shunned the shrink profession. It didn't have the closure like solving a crime does, at least for him. Even though becoming a cop was a means of rebellion for Nichols, he has found his father as an expert psychiatric witness in many of the cases he's been involved in.

Whether it's taking in a matinee movie to clear his mind or thinking outside the box about a criminal's motive, Zack Nichols is the x-factor on any crime scene investigation.

What? Captain Ross was Nicols old partner??? WOW!!! This should be interesting. That would explain the original teaser, shown after 'Frame' aired; when Nicols was @ the 2-7, maybe Nicols got the phone call from Ross to join him @ MCS...

I just knew Nichols is a Goren 2.0, just by knowing the acting career of Goldblum and how his Raines character was "outside the box". I just can't wait to see how Nichols work a MCS case; and now we see he and Ross were partners now I know the chemistry between Ross-Nichols-Wheeler is going be really interesting.

I agree. I personally am not happy that they made Nichols cerebral, and quirky. He sounds like a Goren clone. I like the idea of Bobby being alone in that department, that is what makes Bobby unique (well, one of the things) And Wheeler and Ross can't keep up with him? That sucks in my opinion. Why can't the new writers come up with something different on their own? Like there's a million personality traits out there, and they have to choose cerebral and quirky? Already I'm not liking it. And I'm not complaining about there being a second team, just the fact that they copied Bobby, at least to a degree. Just an opinion.
