Yep, that's what I remember too, except I was going to say that the mid-season finale ended with Michael being blown up, basically means the same thing, and your description is more exact.

It does me make wonder how they will end this next episode. Maybe it'll end with that spoiler picture we've seen of Michael carrying Fiona. ohmy.gif

OK if you hear a rather loud "NOOOO!" coming from somewhere in California at around 9:59 p.m. PDT, just know it's from me! wink.gif

Thanks everyone, I can't believe I forgot that! Then we started with Do No Harm. Ugh. This is going to be a tough Fall/Winter! TexasScaper, I really hope you're wrong, but I have to say that's a darn good guess at how they will leave us hanging.....Ugh again! ohmy.gif

Wasn't it Ausiello that did that poll on who got shot????

Thought it might me the Winter season..but may be...

I think the "someone" is Strickler. Heck 'someone' is just way too vague. Lots of people die in spy movies, He could blow up a building and 'someone' might die in it. Strickler could blow something up and 'someone' would die. (PS that season finale with Michael getting blown off the staircase didn't have me worried... unless they weren't renewing the show you don't blow up your leading man.)

You'll get fair warning if that happens when you hear the scream at 8:59 p.m. CST coming from me in Texas.

New preview clip from Movieweb.

So, I will be out for the first few hours this gets discussed but here's one thing that intrigued me. When he's looking at the picture he took of Fi, in the background is a picture of both of them, which really just looks like one of our screen shots. First, an odd thing for him to have, as in, who would have taken it? Second, thinking about the voiceover from Lesser Evil about Victor's photographs. Would not have expected Michael to keep photos.

Okay, I'm going on the record and saying I think you are right, TexasScaper! I think the final scene will be the spoiler picture we've seen of Michael carrying Fi and we will be left "wondering" if Fi is dead or alive. Of course, we already know the answer to that...

cool.gif THANKS! That was a GREAT clip! I wonder where he got the pictures of Fiona? They looked like surveillance photos that someone "ELSE" took(especially the one of him & Fiona kissing!). I wonder if "MANAGEMENT" took them and sent them to Micheal?!
Also i think that clip was at the beginning (or close to it) because Micheal has the gun she was looking for and it is the same gun she has in one of the promos where she is pointing at someone else. Also i think it is when he takes it to her that he discovers that she has been kidnapped.
Also i did not know that she was still in contact with her mom! So since her brother is coming to the show i wonder if we will get to meet her mom?

Good point, Karendipitee about the photos. Not supposed to keep photos unless the people in them are dead...

Also isn't this the first time Michael and Fi are alone (in the loft) to talk/discuss something and they are so physically far apart from one another? wink.gif

Wow. I'll just say wow. Thanks for the link, Karen.

So I'll start the day with my heart in my throat...again. Damn, this sucks. I can feel the pain between them, can't you? Why he doesnt' just go after her...but she's right. Fi is so cool in her delivery of the message. No, I'm not making a point, I'm making a change. She even says, again, that it's okay that Michael wants what he wants; but she now needs to focus on what's best for her too.

Just a sad face from me.... sad.gif

I think this is where this was mentioned, although I am not sure as to the specific episode. The blog makes it seem that this is the status of their relationship for the second half of the season - putting some emotional distance between Fiona and Michael. This is taken from a NY Post blog, so not sure how accurate it is, and the NY Post is famous for its headline (who can forget - "Headless body found in topless bar". Never added a link before, so I hope this works.

It is easy to add a link. You just push on the + button beside the smiley face button. It opens up and you type in the name of the website you want to link to.It has the word Fonts above it. It is soo easy that even i can do & if i can do it ANYONE can do it! biggrin.gif
I think it would be fun to have Fiona go undercover and have to "PLAY" Gabriell's girlfriend and go all the way to protect her cover only to have Micheal & Sam walk in on them.He could see Gabriell half naked & Fiona could be coming out of the bedroom wearing nothing but Gabriell's shirt. Micheal would know instantly what "happened" but would have to keep the "cover" going by pretending to be Fi's brother.
That way Micheal could be "MAD" about what happened without blowing the case. Then he would be "forced" to watch Fi "makeout" with another guy for at least the rest of the episode!
It would be "payback" for everything he has done to her! That would be fun to watch!!!

sad.gif OMG thank you for the clip, Karendipitee! sad.gif I think my heart just broke for them again, sigh. . . the pictures, OMG what was up with the pictures?!?! Who sent them to him, that's just all sorts of freaky, IMHO. I did love the bit when Fi said "This isn't about one fight Michael, if you didn't see this coming, then you weren't paying attention." IMHO I think she sold her car not so much because she's planning on going back to Ireland but because he gave it to her, you know? Loved how he used the gun she's looking for as a reason to see her again, that's so them!

FiRocks is right. Michael gave Fi the Saab. We found this out in 'Trust Me'. Michael says "I gave you the car..." after they came out of the house of Andy's mom. (Jimmy gave Michael the keys to the Saab at the end of 'Breaking and Entering' but since Jimmy left town in a hurry, he didn't give Michael the papers to the car, only gave him the keys.)

Actually, I'm pretty sure FiRocks is right on this one. HER car (not all those she's stolen) was the SAAB that Michael had given to her at the beginning of Season 2 (that Jimmy had given to him). But as noted in some of our previous discussions about that episode, Jimmy didn't have time to get him the title, or other documents relating to the car--it would have been hard to register, he just handed off the key. The "kid buyer" didn't mind that she had no papers because of the price.

(Although it is fitting into the story line well, I was expecting the SAAB to go-- since it is no longer affiliated with GM, which is of course the company that has a product placement deal with USA network.)

Yep, he totally gave her the car. We found out about it, as Krocla mentioned in "Trust Me" during this bit of dialogue:
Fi: "You owe me."
Michael: "I gave you the car."
Fi: "You owe me more than that. I want to do this, because this guy Andy, chose to put someone he loved before himself, that's why."

Wow, JD and GA played that soooo well.

Mike is one lonely guy. I still think the reason he kept her name in his wallet was for those moment when he was alone and he did have time to think and regret. She is the only person outside of Sam and his mom he can completely trust. I think the pictures are the same thing. Fi is so on target and direct with him. The use of physical proximity was great. You could feel the gulf between them.

I loved the use of gun as a way to see her again. I loved how all of sudden his actions are coming back and he is realizing it. I loved her anger, but she in a way left the door open...she did completely lose it. She didn't say, I don't want to see you again. Just such a well played scene.

I think he kept her info in his wallet not just so he could "think and regret," and you said, but also as a way to keep a part of her with him always. It's sort of like Victor keeping a photo of him and his son, or Duman keeping things that linked him to his past life in Haiti. A dangerous move, but some things even the most well-trained spies can't bear to let go of. I think Michael keeping Fiona's name in his wallet was a tangible way for him to prove to himself that there was something real between them, that he wasn't just using her as an asset, and that she meant enough to him that he was willing to take a huge risk to keep her in his life. And like the gun, maybe Michael hoped that having Fiona as his emergency contact would somehow give him an excuse to see her again (as we've seen, this plan worked!).

I was watching the newest clip and the promo *again* and I just remembered something! In the promo, there's a clip of Mike and Sam looking through binoculars on top of a parking garage about 12 seconds in and all of a sudden, I realized this looks very similar to a photo we saw of the Buick flying off a parking garage. I wonder if I can find that pic . . .

Well, Karendipitee has had a big day! She starts out early morning posting the new clip preview for us, and then just went off to meet JD and have a picture taken with him. All in a day's work, huh? wink.gif

I've watched that clip a thousand times. Fi is awesome. She's upset, angry maybe, but not really. She's just doing what she has to do. I love how she gets mad when she yells, "stop saying this is about us, it's about YOU!" And then immediately says, "that's fine." Meaning, God bless her, that she does understand him, knows she can't change him, and doesn't really want to. It's just that, as she says, it's time for her to do what she needs to do. Make a change. Move on. Live her life. She's not getting any younger! She can't wait around for Michael to figure his future out and then see if she might fit into it.

Love that they have Michael looking at pictures of her. It's as if he's up in the loft going through them, thinking about what he's lost, since the end of the last episode. And the she comes in. It's a beautiful scene; painful, but beautiful. And the gun. She needs to "finish packing" and needs her gun with the silver slide. I mean, who are these writers? Brilliant, I tell ya. The parallels you guys have mentioned to Victor having pictures of his family, and now Michael keeping pics of Fi. Dangerous, huh? Maybe he was going to destroy them? Remember from Lesser Evil:

"Spies are supposed to travel light with nothing that could identify them. Some do, but most find that staying sane requires staying connected to something that reminds them why they do what they do. Pictures are particularly dangerous to carry unless the people in them are already dead." And then Michael says, "I never lost everyone I cared about."

Well, it iooks like he's about to...not necessarily to death, but loss is loss.

Great screen cap Ann! It's so painful. I mean, I know we all talk about this, but how is it that this one show gets me? I don't want to sound like a dork or something, but I really feel the hurt in these scenes! It's incredible how the story moves me. That clip on movieweb was awesome and heart-wrenching. I feel for Fiona though... somehow I'm almost wondering if Strickler isn't on the up, even though he's nasty, and does questionable things, and maybe Fi is thinking so too. I mean why suddenly be so worried Mike will get back 'in'. Still, I see her point if he does get back in that pretty much leaves HER 'out in the cold' and she needs to do what she needs to do for herself if that's the case.

Thanks for sharing this clip! I have watched it like 3 times already and it's only been 10 minutes-LOL! It is such a heart wrenching scene. I find it interesting that Michael is using the old hold on to her stuff (the slide compactor?) so she will have to talk to me tactic. I know he is not the share your feelings type of guy, but one would think he would at least say, "Don't go."

Michael is really grasping at straws in this clip. In Signals and Codes, Michael flat out said that he was doing this because he wanted it. And, I might add, he said that Fi should want it, too. Now, he's going back to the "I'm just doing this to protect the ones I love!" Excuse me while I puke. blink.gif

I was affected by how sad it was (mostly for Fi--she has no power in this situation), but I must confess--as we approach the finale--that I usually allow myself a guilty re-watch of a BN episode once a week during the hiatus. As well written as 3.0 was, I will not be doing any autumn viewing. To rewatch these episodes would be masochistic. It's like--sure, I'll watch Pride and Prejudice (Colin Firth or Kiera Knightly) every six months, but who is going to watch Shawshank Redemption or Quantum of Solace over and over? It's like asking someone to hit you on the head with a brick and saying--"Oh, it's okay, it'll be over soon!" sad.gif

Still looking forward to THURSDAY--while not for repeated viewing--Shawshank and Quantum are great the first time around!!!! laugh.gif

Interesting, dramamama. Although this is a sad clip, I saw strength in Fi, finally putting herself first. I'd like to think she has more options than stay here or go home to mother, but she knows who she is dealing with and makes a decision based on that. I see power in that, sad though it is.

And despite some intense sad moments this season, there is no way I could stay away from them until January. Very glad I bought them on iTunes. That fake death scene alone was worth it! smile.gif

I would love to see what Fiona's mother has to say to Michael. After all, Michael "McBride" already broke her daughter's heart once, when he just up and left without a word, not even goodbye. I'm quite sure that Fi has been keeping mother up-to-date about her current situation. Especially since Fi said that she'd talked to her mother & she was expecting her. So now Michael has broken her baby's heart TWICE. I'd loved to see Mama Glenanne get her Irish dander up with Michael. Of course, maybe that's why brother is coming. And we thought Fi was explosive!

That fake death scene alone was worth it! smile.gif

Karendipitee--Fiona has told us and Michael that he is the only man for her. It's not from a place of strength that she is leaving Michael--it is for self preservation. That is what is so sad about her decision. She leaves, but her heart stays with Michael and she never finds happiness--perhaps someday she will find a reasonable facsimile, but happiness--not happening. The sad thing is that Michael is in the same predicament. He can't be happy with anyone else--but the problem is HE is the only one with the power to change the situation, and he won't or (for those of you who think you cannot slip the bonds of your past) can't. For me this is too sad to watch over and over.

Great screen cap Ann! It's so painful. I mean, I know we all talk about this, but how is it that this one show gets me? I don't want to sound like a dork or something, but I really feel the hurt in these scenes! It's incredible how the story moves me. I'm completely at a loss to explain how, a person of my age and intellect, can be affected by a TV show. But I am. Thanks, or no thanks wink.gif , to the BN team!

I'm glad you like the screencap. I had to have it so I could torture myself with it. And that just makes no sense to me at all. As to how the story moves me, I've tried to understand that myself and the best answer I've come up with is that BN is just too good. Is it possible for something to be too good? I am just completely hooked; there is no other way to explain it. I'll bet come this time tomorrow we'll either be jamming up this forum or completely silent. In a way BN reminds me of something Monk says all the time "It's a blessing and a curse".

And so heart wrenching!

That preview clip of tomorrow night's episode was heartbreaking. Man...I don't even know what to say. I guess that's the problem - there really *isn't* anything to say. They're at an impasse essentially. I have a slightly different take on Michael than you - in that I think Michael *has* made a decision. He *does* want her in his life. He wants to make this work. And it's very, very difficult for him to have a. reached that conclusion and b. tried to figure out how this could possibly work, having her in his life. Having made this decision - for him that is a dangerous position to put himself in, because she makes him vulnerable (which I think will become clear tomorrow night, it seems).

Fiona's position I understand as well. I agree with you - it is an issue of self-preservation for her. She accepts the situation and understands Michael.

I don't really know what else I could possibly say. Their situation reminds me of the U2 song, "With or Without You" -- basically they can't be together and they can't be apart from one another. Not to the extent that is needed at this point in time, at least...
