This is correct.

In the same episode, at one point Gus said he would be stealth, like a jackal (because he found out Shawn would tail him and thus how Shawn knew Gus went to the planetarium weekly), and then Gus did a head bob/bobblehead type move (which they edited and cut to make it as long and repeated as possible) to show his 'jackal like stealth'.

It's a great callback to From Earth to Starbucks!

Very true, but Gus also referred himself as a jackal early this season in Daredevils!! I thought Shawn was going to correct him, again, instead he used his fingers to flip the jackal switch. Very funny!

The whole "jackal" thing or their attempts to be stealth are some of my favorite moments. So I especially loved the jackal switch. Classic. smile.gif

Speaking of all things jackal...

I was watching "Lights, Camera...Homicidio" and noticed another "jackal" reference, this time, from Jorge.

"Usually I hunger for her meatballs, the way a jackal salivates for an injured possum, but suddenly, I have no appetite for them now."

I think the writers really like jackals. laugh.gif

Yes it is very funny when Shawn and Gus go stealth and the jackal switch was very funny. I also thought it was very funny when Shawn in Lassi did a very bad thing tried to get the female officer to let him take a peek in the evidence bag. Shawn was so nonchalant and the female officer just looked at him like he was crazy. IMO

The Jackal Switch was hysterical. The reactions on both Dulé and James faces were priceless!
I love the fact the PSYCH writer's refer back to past episodes. The Chad picture
was another great reference to another past episode.

These references I think it show that the writers know we, the viewers, are a smart dedicated bunch who get the running jokes! I hope they flip that Jackal switch again!

I like how the writers make the show very appealing for newcomers but I also LOVE how they kind of "reward" fans with references to past episodes for people who are obsessed like we all are because they know we will understand them.

Does that make sense?

It makes total sense, and the writers do a great job of it. It's gotta be tough to write a show that newcomers could tune into and be sucked in without knowing a ton of backstory while also rewarding long-time viewers with little inside references.

Yet another reason this show has some of the best writers in TVdom. smile.gif
