As it appears that BigKitty75, who has always started these discussion threads, has been deleted (?) I felt that I would continue the tradition and make sure to get the topic thread up so everyone can have somewhere to discuss the upcoming episode!!
I'm still a bit hung up on the Lassy/Lassie lack of continuity. Yea, I think Lassie is better, but they totally showed *Shawn* (who is the champion of the nickname) writing it as "Lassy" in He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not.

I'm personally really excited to see Lassie (my vote for spelling) and Shawn interact in a new way. Usually Lassie resents Shawn's involvement, even when he knows he needs it. Lassie seems to have a sort of low self-confidence, and he doesn't like feeling as if someone else has outdone him, so he always puts on the tough-guy act to assure everyone that he's still in charge. That's why he gets such an ego when he solves a case by himself. And he always goes by the book to assure himself that he has the law on his side.
But now, he's out of his element, the law is against him, and he's desperate, so he's turning to Shawn. Shawn clearly has the upper hand here; Lassie's at his mercy. I'm excited to see the more vulnerable side to his character, the one who ultimately respects Shawn's abilities a great deal--the one who complimented Shawn while drunk in "Forget Me Not." Lassie will have to accept the fact that Shawn is not below him, but is in fact his equal. Will this earn Shawn any more respect?
Also, I'm curious as to how much Lassie will get to experience Shawn's real crime-solving process. I wonder if he'll get to see how Shawn's mind works and how he really solves crimes--when Shawn takes a case personally, he tends to tone down the psychic-y antics because they just seem disrespectfully goofy. I'm not saying he'll admit he's not psychic--nor should he!--but if he keeps Lassie clued in on his discoveries, Lassie will get to see a bit more of how Shawn processes clues, which could be fun because I want Shawn's intelligence to get the respect it deserves. Personally, I think Lassie already pretty much knows Shawn is faking it. He just accepts what Shawn does because he needs him.
Anyway, looks like a great episode!!

there's a commercial for it now. I don't know why they didn't air it during/ right after "Six Feet Under the Sea," but it's airing now. It looks promising.
check out this little exchange:
Shawn: Of course we'll help you, you're like a brother to us!
Gus: umm...
Shawn: step-brother?
Gus: umm...
Shawn: weird kid who lives down the street and eats nothing but mayonnaise on saltines?
I can't wait!!! And oh, I am so incredibly, ridiculously, hardly-able-to-contain-myself excited for Tuesday the 17th. I think it's worth waiting till friday the 13th for that one. James Roday is so talented, I'm sure he'll nail directing. I'm interested to see his vision for the show. But till then, we'll enjoy as Lassie does something bad. And then next week, the football episode!

Yeah, this episode is featured as TV Guide hot spot! Tim will really get a chance to shine! And I don't think Shawn will allow Lassie in his process because he did not allow Juliet in his process when they worked the roller derby case together in "Talk Derby to Me". I love the reference to

I prefer "Lassie" as well. Also, IMHO, although Shawn wrote "Lassy" in one of the episodes, it seems like it would be in his character to write whatever spelling he felt like at that particular moment. I don't think Shawn would've put much thought into it when writing that note, and I would not be suprised if one day we see him spell it the "Lassie" way too!

Good point--and Shawn may be willing to save even the smallest amount of time in a "Psychic Haze" is shave a letter off here or there

Oh, and I'll admit, I may be hung up on the Lassy/Lassie thing--only because if they ever mention the "Watch out for the bloggers" comment about it in a commentary (and I'm a commentary whore), I can delude myself into thinking they were talking about me

Great episode, I think Lassie definitely has a lot of respect, maybe even friendship for Shawn now. Also the influx of Juliet hints in these previous two episodes are sweet.
Moving ahead a little bit to the future Tuesday the 17th episode, I'm speculating what would happen if Shawn helped Lassie resolve his marriage issue with his estranged wife :0 That probably won't happen but who knows?
Overall, I think these episodes get better and better or maybe its just me because I love this show.

Lassie Did a Bad, Bad Thing was a good, GOOD episode. This was Tim Omundson's best episode, and I thank the writers for giving Tim the chance to shine.
Loved the Shawn and Lassie scenes.
Some great lines in this, with a good mix of fun and seriousness.
I wasn't prepared for just how serious things got. I let out a loud shriek of surprise when the bad guy knocked out poor Shawn, and then they cut to a COMMERCIAL! I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happened next. What followed was IMHO the best part of the show. Shawn kept talking nonstop, trying to keep the bad guy from killing him; Shawn got hit AGAIN! and the hurt/comfort junkie in me was well fed. The bad guy's idea for Lassiter to leave a suicide note including a line that Shawn and Lassie were lovers was a happy-making gift to the slashers.
I was glad to see a bit of comfort along with the Shawn hurt. Henry went directly to Shawn to see if he was okay, and Shawn nearly passed out in his Dad's arms.
So much to love about this episode

Awesome episode. I'm a dude, and Shawn's like my hero, so I got very angry when he hit Shawn. Very angry. I also liked how he continued to be classic smart-ass Shawn with references and everything at gunpoint. Also, I think one of my new favorite lines comes from this episode.
Shawn: "Who are you the Great Gatsby? Maybe later we'll go swan watching with Daisy Buchanon"
Gus: "Wow, Where did you get that one?"
Shawn: "8th grade summer reading...whaaaat?
The way Shawn says what is hilarious. Awesome episode, just don't hurt Shawn so much.

In regards to this episode...I absolutely loved it. It was so well done.
The interaction between the characters was wonderful. I'm a sucker for Shawn and Gus working with/and helping Lassiter. It was interesting to see Lassiter in this sort of position and Tim acted the heck outta this. Kudos!
Kenny Loggins references...amazing.
Shawn and Gus running after the numerous food vendors cracked me up.
Henry being protective.
Oh and second week in a row that we had Shawn/Jules stuff popping up, I'm definitely not complaining dude.
I gasped when Shawn got socked. That was hardcore, then him getting pistol whipped. James acted that well too, the way he came out of that daze, he really go into that.
Again, I can't stress enough how much I loved this episode. The writing was wonderful, good job to Tim & Kell for teaming up and writing this great script. It flowed so well and was non-stop from beginning to end. Then to the cast because it was such a great character piece everyone brought their A game.

I loved this episode!!!!! There was a perfect mixture of funny and serious. Lassie did the best in this episode and I loved watching him and Shawn. They were adorable!
highlights:
Shawn getting hit...TWICE (I was not expecting this and all during the commercial I kept on saying how much that must have hurt. then he hit him again and you could see that Lassie was scared that he might hurt shawn more. it was a great scene for both shawn and lassie)
the jackel switch: priceless
gus and henry being scared when they couldn't find shawn
shawn's vision at the police station with gus and juliet
Lassie having bought a pineapple
these are all i could think of right now but there are much more! Can't wait for next week! The episodes just keep getting better and better
p.s. I creeped myself out during the episode. when shawn, gus, and the cheif were in Lassie's house and they were told that Lassie did have gun shot residue found on his hands I immediatly said "well duh!"(i knew this because if someone fired a gun that close to him, then he would have gun shot residue on him but it doesn't mean that he shot the gun) I ended up saying it at the PERCISE moment that shawn said the exact same thing. my sister just stared at me and we were amazed! I was very creepy. my mom just said that i watch Psych to much

Since the beginning when Shawn met Juliet at the diner in Spellingg Bee, these two have been flirting with one another. Shawn was hurt this season when Juliet dated Cameron Luntz. Shawn told Juliet that his fling with Gus' sister was way before he met her. In this episode and last week episode, other people have been telling Shawn to be patient with Juliet. As April told him last week, they will get there. Now this week, Shawn was asked if he and Juliet were an item, because Juliet talks about him all the time! So keep watching, Shules is going to happen. Be patient!

Just finished watching this ep (thank God for Hulu) and... what wonderfulness!
First, didn't even need Shassie colored glasses because the writers wrote it in! Seriously, Lassie in Shawn's shirt? Lovers? Banter and all that goodness? Gotta love these writers.
Second, just... such a great episode for Lassie. I love Tim and this episode had him at his best... he was perfect! Looking forward to Tuesday the 17th and seeing him with his estranged wife.
Third, some great lines. "Think you can... think you can... think you can..." "Flip the jackal switch." "Danger Zone." And so many more... not to mention some great callbacks to other episodes and lines. Oh, and he Flashdance move! Though it really meant nothing... so perfect and great--and also got back to some of the "psychic vibration/episode" physicality.
Great episode overall!!

I agree, I can probably make a general guess about the season finale shules scenario. Abigail (Rachel Leigh Cook comes back) and then Jules catches Shawn and Abigail's romance, and Shawn and Juliet get into a fight, where Juliet gets hurt this time. Both Shawn and Juliet decide to only be friends for now and this ends the season. I'm getting prepared for this because I have a feeling this will inevitably happen

I use to watch Thundercats, when I was younger. I loved that cartoon.
Shawn would be lost without Gus.

I'm rewatching the episode and I forgot about 2 other funny moments:
Shawn: "I can't believe you thought that text was from me. It had none of my trademark sarcasm and was completely devoid of emoticons."
Gus: "How do you share a popsicle?"
Shawn: "I take a lick, you take a lick, I take a lick, you take a lick, I take a lick--"
Gus: "It's yours."
