Hello USA Network and fellow dog owners,

I wish to thank you USA for covering the Westminster Dog Show so that those who may adopt an dog from the shelter can see the wonderful care and expertise of those who are champions of their breed. It is your coverage of this fantastic show that allows those of us who don't understand the whole dog show genre to explore with the commentaries what breed we may be searching for to adopt.

Not everyone can own all the wonderful breeds who are available, but with your continued coverage and commentaries as to breeds and information we can all make informed decisions about what breed best suits our personal lifestyle.

For those of you that believe that the dogs at Westminster Dog Show are bred strictly for personal human gain, please reconsider and attend a dog show in your area. Talk to the actual breeders, talk to those in performance events, they will inform you of the genetic testing that takes place for each breed you select and will point you in the right direction for a dog that will become a welcome lifetime companion.

PETA pretends to be concerned about the "shelter" dogs and over breeding, but it is not shelters who screen all homes and take back the dog if things change, as they sometimes do. The good breeder will re-home a dog of their breeding. A bad breeder will not stay in contact with you and will not take back the dog sold to you from them. This in turn allows purebreds into the shelter system and those who know nothing of the breed will take on possibly the wrong dog for their lifestyle. Shelters don't care if a Border Collie is placed in an apartment. But breeders do!

You can go to any local "pet store" and buy a purebred dog for $2000.00 on payments that has been bred by a puppy mill that does NO health testing and somehow the poor puppy has genetic problems. Breeders don't breed dogs that have genetic issues, puppy mill breeders do.

Please don't remove such an awesome coverage of a dog show that welcomes all breeds and your coverage that explains temperment and standards.

Thank you USA, please keep Westminster on the air.

Please do NOT be influenced by the organization, PETA.
They have an agenda of their own that you obviously don't know about.
REAL dog lovers ALWAYS watch the Westminster K.C. show, and look forward
to it every year.
The sport of pure-bred dogs is an honorable and decent one.
(It's also very much cleaner than hockey, football or basketball!)
Peta is just trying to pull a power move over all owners of pure bred
dogs here and in Britain. Peta does not want ANY animalsl to be owned as pets!
If you value the idea of free press and free speech, please let your viewers decide the value of dog shows!
Thank you.

I am a huge fan of several of your shows, and I never miss Westminster! As a dog lover, I consider it my "Superbowl."

The Westminster Kennel Club show is more than just about the dogs that are being shown. It is a great opportunity for dog lovers, new and old, to learn more about the various breeds recognized by the AKC. It's a great place for prospective dog owners to narrow down their choices of breeds or types of dogs, and to learn what breeds might be best for their lifestyle and family. This, in turn, contributes to fewer mismatches between dogs and owners that can lead to owners surrendering dogs to rescues or shelters.

Keep up the good work! My calendar is marked for this year's airing of Westminster, not to mention the new seasons of Monk, Psych, and Burn Notice (a brilliant series!).

Please do not stop airing the Westminster show, it is a great show with awesome dogs that are well taken care of. PETA is out of control. Thank you.

I love the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. It is one of the premier dog shows in the world, attracting dog fanciers from all over the world, as well as some of the best dogs America has to offer. I think the coverage you give to Westminster is spectacular, well balanced and is a great showcase for well-bred, well-trained beautiful dogs.

PETA sent you a letter attempting to get you to stop broadcasting this show. You should be aware that PETA is not for the ethical treatment of animals. PETA takes in millions of dollars every year from pet lovers who have been duped into thinking that giving money to PETA helps animals. What do they do with the money? They operate a shelter in Virginia, just outside of Wash. DC, where they kill almost every animal that enters their shelter. They make virtually no effort to find homes for the healthy adoptable dogs and cats they take in. They even send hit teams out to shelters in other states, taking animals under the false pretenses by assuring the shelters that the dogs will be brought to their VA shelter to be adopted into permanent loving homes, then they inject the animals with drugs to kill them, sometimes before they have left the parking lot! They made the news for that! Just google PETA kills and see what comes up.

Keep serving the American public by broadcasting this show. Americans love their dogs and will never support the aims and goals of terrorist organizations like PETA. Dogs are wonderful in all their diversity and I think you are wonderful for offering this showcase for the beauty and intelligence of these great animals.

I LOVE DOGS!! What's the best movie out there right now? "Marley and Me", right? Dogs are on TV commercials, print ads, everywhere you look. PEOPLE LOVE DOGS!!

I watch Westminster not to argue about who should or should not win, the politics, or any of the other yada yada, but because I love to watch the beautiful, beautiful dogs. And I know that if one little person like me feels this way, then thousands and thousands more feel the same way. People spend more on their pets than they do on their kids! Come On, USA Network, let's don't let a loud, well-funded special interest group like PETA take away the happiness that dogs give to all of us. And with the economy in a gloom and doom, we need a little happiness.

I for one, am going to go and hug my dogs right now!

Thanks for listening.
