Lorne Michaels script was predictable, but the creator of Saturday Night Live has given USA a nice platform for offbeat humor with To Live and Die. I was pleasently surprised by the main charactor, Hildy, who is totally flawed but played very well by Ms. Appleby (of Roswell fame). I swear that girl can create romantic chemisty with a telephone pole (Ivan Sergei"s charactor was almost that wooden). Tim Matheson was his usual adept and classy self. I'm unfamiliar with the black british actor but she played off the others well. The sister and mother (Frances Fisher) were annoying at times but the mother was a developing charactor - she needed more time to develope some sympathy.
All in all nicely done but a pilot as a movie is a tough sell. Many things we question I'm sure the creators expected to answer in time if the series went to production.
