Full Version: Mr. NOODLE

A while ago, I was watching a dvded Sesame Street with The Boy. It ended, and the tube started showing whatever was running on usa at the time, which was Criminal Intent. Wierdly, it was a Criminal Intent where the killer is played by Mr Noodle, from Elmo's World.

I only saw the tail end, and it was the only time I saw that episode. Can someone tell me the name of the episode with Mr Noodle? Or the name of the clown who plays Mr Noodle? That name has been on the tip of my tongue for months.

I'm talking about the tall current Mr Noodle. Not the short one who I think died before Criminal Intent even began.

Thanks.

The actor's name is Bill Irwin. I looked it up because I was soo curious as to what role he played on CI. He was Nate Royce in Masquerade. I can't believe that's Mr. Noodle!!!

I think I just saw him as a serial killer on CSI.

You know, a few regulars on Sesame Street have been showing up in L&O episodes....the actor who portrays Luis on Sesame Street was in Amends as the grandfather, and Gordon was in a mothership episode.
Michael Jeter was the original Mr. Noodle, and he died several years ago......he was in The Green Mile (the one that was literally fried in the electric chair) and it threw me for a loop when I 1st saw it.

They have young kids. They probably would do it if asked. How cool would you be to your young kids if you knew Elmo, Gonzo, Big Bird.... (Are they all still on there?-It's been years since I watched Sesame Street)

By the way lady_m, I chuckle to myself every time I read this. Love silly stuff like that.

Some of the ones that were on there, like Grover, nearly disappeared but came back again. My sons didn't care for Elmo too much but they both LOVED Grover.
Some of the others that I remember, like Roosevelt Franklin and Sherlock Hemlock, aren't on anymore.

I know they released DVDs of the Muppet Show and I'd like to get them.....Statler and Waldorf were my favorite part of the Muppet Show. And I can't hear Crocodile Rock without thinking of Elton John's guest spot on the Muppet Show.

Statler and Waldorf-were they the two old guys? My favorite part too. My father (!) used to watch The Muppet Show which seems funny to me and would to you if you had known him. He also used to watch The Electric Company-just to see Rita Moreno I think. laugh.gif

I can definitely see them doing it for their kids, it's been so long since I've watched it too.

As for my quote, he's got a lot of really funny ones, one of my favourites (not to offend anyone) is "Hey, should midgets get paid under the table?"

I just checked him out on youtube. He's funny. I'd never even heard of him.

Several actors from SVU have been on. There was even a set piece in the SVU office with muppet versions of the SVUs. A letter was missing and they were trying to find it. I think it was W.

I LOVE Elmo. I could go on about him for hours. From little things like the way he supports one elbow with his other hand when he strikes a thinking pose and his dance, which I have likened to the Bobbydance, to How-did-it-take-so-long-for-them-to-think-of-something-so-obvious-as-a-child-monster? and the sweet juxtaposition of the interpersonal relations on Sesame Street and the child alone with his imagination, where we are the imaginary friend, in Elmo's World.

Yup, the 2 old men up in the box seat with all the sarcastic remarks......hilarious!
Haven't seen The Electric Company in many years (PBS no longer runs it) but I remember Rita Moreno being on there a lot. Your dad has excellent taste! smile.gif

bawahahahahahahaha!!! That is really funny! I have to look him up....he reminds me a bit of Steven Wright.

I do like Elmo, but what I have a problem with is what I see as the over-focus, if you will, on Elmo. It's been a few months since I've seen Sesame Street (#2 Son prefers Nick Jr. now) but 15-20 minutes alone was dedicated to Elmo's World, and then Elmo's in different segments during the rest of the show. Seems like some of the other characters, such as Bert & Ernie, Big Bird, Grover, Snuffy, tend to get put aside and Elmo in the spotlight.
I'd read somewhere (in Sesame Street Unpaved, I think) that Elmo is to represent 3 year olds, Grover the 4-5 year olds, and Big Bird 6 year olds.

Elmo's World used to bother me because as entertainment it was so much less satisfying than the rest of the show. Then I started thinking of it as designed for kids who were more into their own worlds and perhaps not totally comfortable with life on the Street. I became more forgiving.

I like that the one adult in Elmo's World is completely incompetent, and has to be instructed by the voices of children to get anything right. Perhaps playing to a child's fantasy of being able to tell grown-ups what to do? Poor Mr Noodle.

Just clicked on here. It takes me so long to post that one or two threads is about all I get to. I think Michael Jeter was also in Air Bud. It is a movie I used to watch with a Grandson. I didn't know he had died. Too bad, a good character actor.

I can't believe that's Mr. Noodle!!!

The most surprising Sesame Street I’ve seen so far is one where Maria wants to take a shower, but an elephant with gastroenteritis has passed gas in such a way that a vacuum has been created and he can’t separate himself from the tub.

Doesn’t sound like Sesame Street, you say?

It was an Oscar dominated episode. “All grouchy, all gross, all disgusting, all the time.”

Hi Lenore. I've got the same problem, especially since my wife hooked her video phone into our internet. I don't think the video phone was the problem, exactly, but that the system here had something wrong with it to begin with and it just took one more straw to break it.

Speaking of Micheal Jeter...he was in a Hallmark Movie called "The Boys Next Door", also starring was Tony Goldwyn and Courtney B. Vance.

Its a really, really great movie. Also starring is Nathan Lane and Robert Sean Leonard (House).

One of my favorites....great actors all the way around!

Wow, what a cast. Hallmark makes some nice movies.

I used to do daycare for the state and Sesame Street was part of the education program. A great series and it is still good today although I don't watch so much with the Grandchildren. I'm pretty sure I can credit Sesame Street with teaching my kids to count and learn their ABC,S. As for the elephant episode, also necessary education.

That sounds weird but hilarious at the same time. I think the really old Sesame Street episodes (from the very beginning I believe) were released on DVD a long time ago.

Umm. Wasn't the video phone. It was a motorized wheelchair rolling over the phone line several thousand times.
