“Great news guys” Casey exclaimed as she walked into the one six precinct, “We got a conviction on the Robinson case! Sentencing will be in a week!”
The office was very slow only Olivia, Fin, and Elliot where there. John was hell knows where and Cragen hadn’t come out of his office in 4 hours.
“That’s great Casey! I bet you want to know where John is.” Fin said looking up from the papers on his desk.
“That would be great! But you know I don‘t like him.” Casey exclaimed “In case you workaholics didn’t know, I’m having a new year’s party at my place starting at six, don’t be late!” She changed the topic
“Sounds like fun Case, I’ll be there!” Olivia jumped in “You do know New Years is tomorrow though, right?”
“What do you take me for, Liv, a dumb blonde? It’s not going to be planned or anything just us chilling out to reign in the New Year. El, do you think you can get away from Kathy for one night? Same with you Fin, but minus the Kathy, maybe” Casey laughed
“You’re a meanie, Casey” Elliot said in a four-year-old voice “Sure I’ll come”
Fin nodded “Yay! Ask don!” Casey exclaimed!
“Ask me what Novak?”
“I’m having a New Years party tomorrow, want to come?” Casey inquired
“Sounds like fun, I’ll be there. Where is John?” Cragen answered
“No one knows.” Casey replied.
Cragen lifted an eyebrow at Casey as she shrugged.
The Next Day (5:05 pm)
New Years Eve
“Liv!” Casey screamed into her cell phone “Pick up, pick up, pick up!!!”
“What Case, I let the machine get it because I’m getting ready for your party, what’s wrong?
“You know that guy Bryan I met today at lunch I told you about? He is coming tonight and this has to be perfect!”
“Oh god! Casey! What do you want me to do?”
“Help me! Can you be over here by 5:30?”
“Yeah”
“Ok good, bring beer, those little popping things, a bottle of champagne, and umm, a great movie!”
“Ok, do you mean those things that you pull the string and confetti comes out the top?”
“Yes!! Please come quick!”
Olivia finished applying her make up and grabbed her purse. She walked down to the side walk and tried to flag a cab, which was no easy task. Finally she arrived at the store and rushed through aisles to get Casey everything she needed for her party.
**buzz**
“Who is it?”
“Your guardian angel” Olivia replied to Casey’s stupid question
“Olivia!! Come on up! My door is open!” Casey squealed into the microphone.

“You’re a life savor Liv! Help me hang up this stuff” Casey said pointing to the streamers.

“That’s like the millionth time-” Olivia was cut off by a buzzer
“Who is it?” Casey called through the microphone”
“It’s me Fin; I have a guest for you.”
“Shut up and come up!”
Soon it was Olivia, Casey, Fin and John.
“So we are waiting for Elliot, Don and Bryan.” Casey stated once every one was settled in the living room with a beer.
“Who is Bryan?” John said with a mixture of emotions in his voice, jealousy being the more prominent one.
“A friend from work, that’s what you guys are, friend from work”
Fin and Olivia exchanged a look with the same thing on their minds When will John get over Casey? Then their thoughts were interrupted by another buzz.
Casey ran over to the buzzer, hoping it was Bryan. “Who is it?”
“Its Don, Novak, let me in its fracking cold!”
“Okay feisty! Come in its open.”
“That makes Elliot and Bryan” John mocked
“Yup!” Casey said oblivious to the fact that John was trying to be mean.
“Hey Guys! Did you save me a beer?” Don Joked
“Liv picked up your brand before she came over here.” Casey returned the joke
“Haha funny, what kind of soda do you have?”
“Coke, Diet, Sweet Tea, and I think I still have some raspberry tea my mom gave me for Christmas.”
“Diet Coke, please”
“Trying to lose weight in 09 cap?” Olivia said.
“Hey baby girl” Cragen said as he gave Olivia a hug “In fact, yes I am. Doctors Orders.”
**BUZZ**
Casey sprinted to the door “Yes?” She breathed excited.
“Oh god! What are you all doing up there?” Elliot said
“Dirty, dirty games, if you come up you’ll have to give Don a lap dance!”
John started to laugh, that was his favorite thing about Casey, her sense of humor.
“Fine, I guess I’ll go to the bar across the street.”
“I’ll buzz you in”

“Hey guys! Looks like every ones here!” Elliot said walking though the door.
“Not every one. Casey invited some one from work.”
“Ok well, this is funny do you guys want to play truth or dare to pass the time?”
“Sounds like fun!” Fin said from his place in the corner.
“Fin would you like to go first?”
“Okay”
“Olivia, truth or dare?”
“Truth”
“Sissy, do you know anything about this Bryan guy that Casey has been obsessing over the last 30 minuets?” Fin said while Casey gave Olivia a look. “I saw that! You do come on enlighten us.”
“He is just a guy she met today when we were at lunch, no big deal.”
“Really?” Fin added
“Yes. My turn. Elliot, T or D”
“Truth”
“I work with a bunch of sissies!” Fin called
“What is your biggest darkest secret?
“Um, you guys might have seen this coming, but”
“Say no more! I know what you are saying!” John exclaimed
Olivia felt her heart sink down to the pit of her stomach “El, I’m sorry.” She whispered.
“Moving on from that! Casey don’t you have a movie sitting over there on that table near all that food with all those plates!” Cragen hinted
“Yeah! Everybody listen we have a lot of food, help yourselves and we are going to watch the worst movie of 2008, Liv what did you get?”
“Um, I think the guy said some Guru movie.” *lol my favorite movie!!*
“Cool! Well dig in and I’ll set up lets see,” Casey looked for the title “The Love Guru!”
They watched the movie until eight when Casey finally called Bryan.
“Hey” She stepped out side on the deck to finish up the conversation.
“I got to pee” john said and hurried to the bathroom
“Wow, I’m sorry guys but my squad is pathetic!”
“Don, what?” Olivia said shocked
“John is in love with Casey and,” He shot fin a look
“Wait” Fin interrupted knowing what he meant “Not all of us are pathetic especially Johns amazing partner.”
“I’m going to get more food.” Elliot said blandly
“Okay” Olivia said with an awkward smile she still didn’t forgive herself for what happened earlier.
“What did I miss” John took a seat by Olivia
“Not much”
By this time Cragen and Fin had left them alone to talk, if anyone knew how Olivia felt it was John.
“You need to stop beating yourself up, Benson!”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Damn it! Olivia, I might be the one with the broken heart here but Elliot wasn’t bothered with it enough to tells us about it.” Then they all heard Casey start to bawl on the deck as she slammed her phone shut.
“Thanks John. Now go play superhero with Casey.”
John slid open the glass door and Fin soon replaced John “10 bucks say they kiss when the ball drops”
“That’s true, but you’re on!”
Finally Olivia’s stomach felt better and she could eat because now she was starving. She got up to fix her a plate and Elliot was still up there. Fin was assessing them then he went up to don and said “10 bucks say they kiss at mid-night”
“They haven’t gotten together by now, why do you think they will tonight? You’re on.”
Fin started to dance, “I’m gonna win twenty bucks tonight! 2009 here I come!”
Everyone started to laugh as fin continued to dance

“Wow, John and Casey have been out there since 8, fin you want your money now or later?” Olivia called from the corner she was sitting at with Elliot
“Later, please.”
Fin chuckled as he started to devour the last of the truffles.
“So, do you want to go out later?”
“El, you know I do”
“Ok people lets turn on the TV”
“But Casey’s house has a great view!” Fin said with a mouth full of the last two truffles.
“They are still out there tough”
“What ever”
5! Fin ran over to the glass door
4! Olivia and Elliot exchanged a look
3! Don sighed wishing he had Kellie Pickler to night (lol hehe)
2! John and Elliot leaned in to kiss their partners
1! “YES!!! I GET 20 BUCKS!” Fin exclaimed “Happy New Year!!!”
