This actually is a series. Why did USA do such a poor job advertising this? I caught it by chance.
flyingbouffont
So is USA going to show other episodes of this series? I love Sherri Appleby; she was so funny in this.
piratenews
Excellent show! Roswell chick nailed it. Didn't even recognize her as an action comedy star. BTVS meets Burn Notice. A slayer is born.

Johnny Quest did a great job too.

USA did a great job hiding it, to "justify" its decision to kill it.

Hopefully there's an Episode 2?

I LOVEEEEEEEEEE THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!! IF YOU DO NOT MAKE IT A SERIES ANOTHER NETWORK WILL. I REALLY ENJOYED THIS MOVIE. I AM WATCHING IT AGAIN TONIGHT. I AM STAYING UP TO DO THAT WHICH IS NOT NORMAL FOR THIS WOMAN. JUST DO NOT REPLACE THE LEAD FEMALE OR YOU WILL LOSE THE REAL FAVLOR OF THIS SHOW!!!!!!!!!! GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Razzbaby
I thought this would be a great series too! I didn't realize it was...or am I misunderstanding previous comments. I would definitely watch it if it was. I like Shiri. She is funny. I liked her mother and sister too. So do we know when the series begins or when it will air?
brendakota
I loved this show too, so I tried to set it up as a series recording on my dvr, but it didn't give me the series option.

I just got done watching To Love or Die and I have to say that I am hooked. It was so good that I am actually watching it again. Shiri Appleby was simply top notch and so funny in the role of Hildy. She was also so HOT. She nailed it. I can’t understand why To Love or Die is not already a hit series or why Shiri is not a household name?

wink.gif She was the only reason to watch Roswell! I think she is smokin HOT as an action comedy chick!
One question. What was that crazy ring tone she had on her phone?????????
Any Charmed fans on here????? If there are, you might have recognised BLUE as Henry, Paige's old boyfriend!
carfreak1817
I loved the movie and I really hope they turn it into a series. I would definitely watch it.

I am SO confused. I saw previews so I watched the premiere, thinking it was a series! Then I scrolled ahead to next Tues to see if it would be on and saw it wasnt. Confused, I came on here to see what was going on and I find out its a movie. Its SOOOOO GOOD THOUGH! It has all the makings of a great series: the plot is cool, the characters are amazing, its funny but also has action and romance.....They really need to make this a series or if they canned it....BRING IT BACK!!!!
HellonHeels
I loved this! OMG! Why wasn't this advertised more? What a gem! I really hope it's a series and not just a movie because I'm really hooked on these characters already. Especially Hildy! Shiri Appleby knocked it out of the park. She was all over the place, high energy, and never once did I think she was acting. I was really impressed by the whole cast. And talk about funny! Please let this be a pilot that I just watched and not just a movie. I watched the 8pm and I'm watching the midnight showing still.

I am a 26 y o male and I love this show. It has so much room for growth and development. Shiri Appleby is the personification of cute and adorable. Eddie is a great character, and if his track record proves correct Seymour Cassel will be great as the doddering old assassin. The scenes with the faceless shrink are fantastic as well. Cute and neurotic is always an A+ in modern TV. Blue is a little wooden, but that can be taken care of. For everybody worried about this show, don't. The next episode airs on Jan 20th. It was definitely not a smart idea to air the premier three weeks before the next episode over Christmas break when I'm sure a lot of the potential audience is on vacation. They are also airing it on Tuesdays which might not be the brightest move seeing as it is probably going to compete with American Idol for the beginning of the year (not that I'm a fan). Maybe I'm wrong about that, I don't know. Anyway, it probably would have been a smarter move to put it in between Psych and Monk on Fridays or at least after them. I hope this show lasts, seeing as it has the potential to be way better than The Starter Wife.

Excellent show (To Love and Die), wish we didn't have to wait 3 weeks for the next episode. The listing as a movie threw me off a bit, hopefully it will continue on. This will be one of the few shows I'll schedule my time around if it keeps up and builds upon what I saw tonight.
1Promise2U
I had to add my voice and be one more person that was blown away by how good To Love & Die was!! Shiri Appleby was awesome! I really hope it becomes a series and they can keep up the quality writing. It was just so fresh and thrilling all at the same time - she is genuinely a good girl with mad skills. The character of Blu, played by Ivan Sergei was perfectly brooding and competitve. I can't wait to see what this awesome team does.

allow me to add....i have been a long time fan of the usa network...nearly 20 years....and i enjoy the semi-recent changes that have been made....ie new programming and original series/movies...i really hope that USA network peruses these forums because except for the seagal movies the programming is wonderful....this "movie" 'To love and die' is a great example....however, it seems (as if not mentioned already) to have been presented in the format of a series premier or finale...that is to say a 2 hour slot.....i can compare it to say 'The Dark Knight" in the way it ends....it gives us a vision of how the following movie/episode might be but leaves us hanging wanting more.... MOst of us are excited because it seems that there is so much more that can be said. The dynamic between the characters is awesome and we only just got to see what Hildy can do
Dr_K
A winner? Hmmmmm...

Creatively written plot that is watchable and enjoyable.

Absolutely mesmerizing new actress (Shiri Appleby - where did she come from? I've never seen here before) who is unusually talented - animated and really "sells" the role - and captivating to watch. She is just too good for this to be a first role. I just sat back and enjoyed watching her.

Nicely shot - minimal car chases, special effects, outlandish saves.

Ok, so it's not a "reality" show or a cooking show or a cop show or a teary-eyed puppy show, or a what-it's-like-to-be-behind-bars show - this really took hard work and effort to make it look so flawless. Not easy to make it look bright and new.

So just what is USA Network going to do with Ms Appleby and this show? Let it slide between their fingers like the people who let Jessica Alba go because they said her eyebrows were too bushy? Yah, probably.

Too bad. I want more Shiri Appleby. Please

Dr.K

I totally agree! I hope this becomes a regular on the USA Network!

I thought this was a great movie! I watched it again at midnight even. It seems like a perfect premise for a series on this network...fun, quirky, and entertaining (just like my other favorite series on USA). Bad job on the advertising though, even on the web site. Bring it back please!

Wow... dramatically different points of view in the thread "To Love and Die was Bad, REALLY BAD"

From what I saw in the previews, I expected more drama and less slapstick. I was disappointed. Guess I'm not the target demographic.

It appears to not be turned into a series YET...but hoping with all this support that USA will change their minds.

All 8 of us in our household loved it.

i really liked the show!!!!!

I was pleasantly surprised how good I thought the show was. I thought the characters really meshed well, and it helped that the cast had this chemistry about them. I am really hoping that USA makes it into a full series, because I would love to keep watching what other kind of trouble Hildy can get into.

gman_deleted_111
I agree it needs to get at least a 12 show spot. Many of the things complained about by other posters the writers would probably fill in over the season. USA should give it a shot - it isn't half as annoying as 3/4s of the other series they run.

I thought it was a series, too! They certainly left it hanging like it was a series. I was getting excited to see the next one, well until I came on here and found out it was a movie.
What?! Come on USA, this would be another great series. I liked it. Funny, action. And that paint ball fight and then building tension between Hildy and Blue.
I agree with the yeahs. Bring it back!!!!
Whimsy
I completely agree with everyone who hopes they air more of this. I was so excited to learn that this was supposed to be a series and I really hope USA decides not to kill it and actually give it a chance. I loved the dynamic with Shiri's family and I loved her character, she was hilarious. If they do continue it I look forward to seeing her first hits. Bring us more USA!!
Marissa8758
I love love love 'To Love or Die.' I was pretty depressed when my mom told me it was just a movie...but I sincerely hope that USA makes it into a series. It was cute, funny, and refreshing. As it is I get nothing done because NCIS and House are on from 5-9 and sometimes 10...if USA would make To Love and Die a series I think they would have a serious hit. And I would be glued to the television pretty much all night. How do we tell them to make more episodes????
Ranaki
I'm fed up with this nonsense. Every series I like is canceled. There are literally no good series on USA except for House, NCIS, Monk and Psych. The rest of them suck including Burn Notice which is a poorly developed story line. I used to watch Burn Notice when it was still good but stop watching it when it became repetitive.

It is a nice spy series but it has no potential for a great plot like To Love or Die. There is a lot of potential for To Love or Die but its clear that a certain kind of person makes the decisions whether to cancel a series and it's fairly obvious what kind of series the morons enjoy watching. Here I was looking forward to a great series after I watched this movie and now I find out that the morons have done it again and canceled it.

Please stop airing these series and movies if you aren't going to follow through with them. Stop getting me interested only to take them from me otherwise I am going to stop watching new series until I am sure they are going to continue. If you keep this up then I'm going to only watch movies and series online after I know there will be a second season. If you want to go the way of print newspapers keep this up. My last piece of advice is to at least air the full episodes you make online and sell the rights to Hulu and other companies so that we can continue watching them online. I'm happy that Hulu LEGALLY airs movies online.

They won't make new episodes because they rely on Nielsen ratings which are an injustice to those of us who do not fit the mold that is targeted by Nielsen. If they aired the series online after canceling it on the network they would probably see that interest far outweighs what the Nielsen ratings indicate when hundreds of thousands of Americans storm their website to continue watching the series.

They could air the last episode and have a scrolling bar at the bottom that says something like "This series will no longer appear on our network at its regularly scheduled time. If you wish to continue watching this series visit http://www.usanetwork.com/toloveordie." Then they should monitor the traffic and I suspect they would realize that millions of Americans were watching the series and wish to continue watching it. Then they could decide based on real interest whether to continue a second or third season online.

They should also consider allowing Americans to vote on whether to keep the series by doing the same sort of thing and have a scrolling bar at the bottom of the screen throughout the last few episodes which read "if you want this series to continue for another season text ___ or call ___." Then based on the number of people who text or call they could determine whether to continue for another season. It's to difficult for us to contact them in a concerted effort to get them to continue a series.

Imagine the outrage that would take place if they were to cancel Monk. Doing that would make me so angry that I would never watch USA after that.
gman_deleted_111
I know they filmed at least part of the 12 episode order before the strike last year.

I loved this movie. I thought the characters were quite funny and different then what is usually out there. USA needs to make this a series.
I think quite alot of people would be interested in seeing how she adjusts to killing people and heaven help her if her mom or sister gets any idea of what she is doing.

This is one of the very good movies I would love to see again and again. Not yet in my Favorite 10 list though; but I love this movie.. rolleyes.gif

usa didnt do a good job of advertising the 1st episode, i remeber seeing like a 20 second clip months b4 the show even came on. it was just by chance that i stumbled on2 it 1 nite b4 my other show came on. I LOVED that episode, and i was soooo excited thinking it was a series and come 2 find out its just a movie!? WAT? there are so many conflicts that they need 2 resolve! do blue and hildy ever get 2gether? wat about her relationship w/ her father how's that doing? whats going 2 happen when she has to actually kill sum1? how will her mother react to hildy's father walking back in2 the picture? will her sister EVER divorce her husband?!!!!! SO many questions and im 2 cope w/ the fact that its only a movie!!! i cant accept this. im always looking for a new show that catches my eye and this one had me in the very 1st scene, and then u bring mercenaries in2 the picture im hooked. i loved everything about this 'show' it doesn't have stupid special effects everywhere, there is actually a character w/ qualities that are a bit quirky but loveable, and she isn't just some 'ordinary' grl who falls in2 some wacky adventure (not that i mind those characters but this is refreshing change), and they have so many directions that it can take that im not worried about getting bored. anywho ive been reading the forums and checking the site and there are so many mixed messages about whether the show is going 2 keep going as a miniseries and play its episodes (at very RANDOM and varying time) or if the series has been completely cut from the schedule and will soon be forgotten for another show. i really hope not b/c this show looks like it would b a killer in the ratings (if they tried advertising) and i want 2 find out wat happens to these chacters, besides there are plenty of spaces they could fill the show in w/ (as much as i LOVE house i dont need 2 c 3 episodes in a row every night plus a marathon of NCIS) anywhoo ive been rambling for a while, sorry about that. guess im just going 2 have 2 wait and c wat the official word is... if they take the show away i might cry...

I agree. This needs to be a series.

Okay,
I seem to be in the same boat as most everyone here. I didn't see not a single advertisement for this show all of last month (december). I only happened upon it at two in the morning and got hooked. The next day I told the hubby about the show and went on to USA network to try and find it. Didn't realize it was some movie thats possibly being made into a series? How does that work? But I'd like to see more of it. Has two of my fav actors in it from what once was my two fav shows back in the day, Roswell and Jack and Jill. So can someone with any info, especially some exec from the USA network if possible (that would be amazing plus grrreeaat!) Let ME know whats going on with this movie/show etc. Thanks a bunch.

I agree with everyone else. To Love And Die was awsome. It would be a tragedy if they didnt make this into a series. Shiri Appleby was exellent. I absolutly need to see more episodes of To Love and Die!

Hi!

I just wanted to put in my 2 cents: I loved this little movie/pilot! I want to see MORE. I really liked it, but I noticed the ending was kind of "cut off" and I felt like there is so much more room for it to grow. PLEASE USA air the rest of the episodes!!! Why wouldn't they air it? Are they worried it won't work on their targeted demographic? I am 22 year old female graduating from Berkeley this year, I WOULD WATCH this show if it is aired!! Does that help?

Thanks wink.gif

I love this series. USA Network needs to give it a GREEN LIGHT. USA execs...if you are reading this, people love this, give it a go!!! I can't believe they thought it was bad enough to give it the axe already. Not a smart move.

Also this is NOT A MOVIE, it's supposed to be a SERIES. USA just won't give it it's own ORIGINAL FORUM. It's an ORIGINAL SERIES.

I've been trying to find info on To Love and Die because I really like it. It looks like they made the pilot movie and one episode. I really hope they make more. I can't find anything on when the one episode might be aired - or be sure that it is a separate episode. Does anyone know?
StellarTrav01
I also created an account just to comment on this subject.
In response to the demographic information; I am 65 and I liked the movie, " to Love and Die" and would love the series. Several of my relatives and friends of the same age group have also viewed the pilot movie and are also awaiting more episodes. We only need information on WHEN they will appear or be scheduled to show. Therefore the show and series has appeal from age 22 to 65. Another reason to air the series.

My age group have seen enough car chases and blood and violence and explicit sex in movies and TV. We now have plenty of time to spend our evenings watching TV shows that are more relaxing and that require a little more use of the brain in solving the crime or following the twists of the show plots. We can then spend our money on the products that sponsor those types of shows.

One source I found mentioned 11 episode filmed. Another mentioned 1 filmed before the strike. Which is true?
Another source mentioned An episode airing Tues Jan 20th, a second Fri Jan 23 and a third on Wed Jan 28. But again a different source said that the first two of these airings were in fact part of the "House" series and not the Shiri Appleby series. So what is correct? huh.gif

mcg_man
I stumbled across this late at night because the name was intriguing. The show is quite entertaining and has several directions that it could go. I agree with those that have commented on the horrible advertising for this show. If you Google Search the show or search through the message boards on USA, you will see the dramatic number of hits when compared to the other movies. I am hopeful that USA will see this and continue the series. Hopefully they had decent contracts and provisions for the actors so they can bring them back. This could be a really fun series and a boom for USA. There is so much garbage out there and this show was a diamond in the rough. Yes Shiri is very attractive, however, my wife loves the gotcha moments and the potential budding romance between Hildy and Blue. She also was loving the mom and wants to know what is going to happen to Hildy's sister and her husband.

Come on USA, bring this series to your line-up.
