Are there plans to re-up Starter Wife in 2009? SO hoping answer is YES!!

I hope not. The Starter Wife is the worst TV show of the 21st Century and Debra Messing in my Top 5 as the worst actress ever. I am so glad there has not been in any commercials of this awful TV show lately. I think she'd be great at doing porn.

I really hope USA continues this show! It's my favorite and I wish people that don't like it would just support other shows instead of complaining so much. The Starter Wife is a hit in my book and I can't wait for more! I want to know how long I have to wait!

I hope so. The show is light and funny and oddly realistic. The over dramatization adds to the humor of the show. Debra Messing is hysterically funny. I look forward to Friday night TV for a change.

If USA does with The Starter Wife what it has with its other original series', then it will be back in about 3 months. I'm thinking March - June for it's 2nd go 'round. I really hope so, I have to know what is going on with Joan!! And will Molly & Zack get back together?? What about Kenny and Kat?? Kenny & Molly??? Rodney & Felix???
I didn't care for The Starter Wife the first couple of episodes, it was okay, but didn't knock my socks off. But I adore Debra Messing, so I continued to watch and before I realized it, I was anxiously awaiting Friday nights to get my fix!! I love it now - a real guilty pleasure!!
So USA, you better be reading your fans and bring us more Starter Wife episodes soon!

USA has been awfully quiet about the future of the "Starter Wife." The ratings have been really low for this second installment of the series (think near 2 million), and it only got a single Golden Globe nod for Debra Messing. I'm not sure if that's enough to keep it afloat. Think from the network's standpoint. Do you want to spend millions in production costs for this series when re-runs of "House" get higher ratings. If it were a huge hit, USA would've already announced an order for a 3rd season. Sad to say, I don't think it will get another season because not enough viewers tuned in.

I love the show. I disocvered it by accident during the first season and watched it faithfully. Then I waited and waited and waited......and thought it would not return. So, being that I rarely watch USA ( Starter Wife and Monk is it for us), I didn't realize it was going to ever return. While I am quite happy that I discovered it again, it does not surpise me at all that everyone did not tune back in. They are probably now interested in another show on another network. That's what happens when viewers have to wait too long. Most people don't have time to look up shows on the net and search through blogs to determine if they will ever get to see there show again.

First of all, I loved the new Starter Wife. Of course, I loved the original Starter Wife as well. However, I have to admit that I did not watch the Friday night episode because 10pm after a long week is too late at night for me. So, I ended up catching the show on the weekends when they repeated them. If they could move the show to 9pm on Friday then they may have more viewers.
Secondly, I guess I was wondering why "wordm" is even on the Starter Wife forum if they hated the show and Debra Messing that badly? Does anyone else seem to think that's a contradiction?

I'd also love to know what on earth is going on with this series.
I think it's a great show, and after ALL the advertising USA did to get the ball rolling, they really should keep the show going.
Some shows may be slow starting off, wasn't Seinfeld one of those shows that wasn't so hot at first?
Saturday Night Live as well?
I'm so tired of companies that create something and then don't follow through because it didn't become widely popular overnight. It's a great show, give it a little more time before pulling the plug, geez.
I really really love The Starter Wife, I have my DVR set up to record all new episodes, and I've been waiting and waiting for another. now I log onto USA and see that there's no information whatsoever as to any new episodes or anything at all.
I do have to say one thing, I think they OVER advertised this one, and that may have been a mistake. I got so sick of seeing the previews for the show months before it ever started, I almost didn't watch it at all. They really bombarded us with ads.
Seriously though, I think many people end up "accidentally" discovering many of their favorite shows. Put a good movie or a popular show on, such as House, and then have The Starter Wife run immediately following the popular shows. Eventually people will start discovering the show and I think it will catch on.
How about instead of 100 House marathons, throw in a Starter Wife every now and then? Mix it up a little.

I totally agree that USA OVER advertised the show. I originally had no interest in watching it. I left the TV on one day and when I walked back into the room it was on and I got hooked. I then went online caught up on all the episodes I missed and watched faithfully since.
Just because they over advertised the first season should not mean that they don't advertise the second season. I check the web every few weeks to see if there is any news on the new season. I am so anxious to find out what happens.
I watch USA all the time, Monk, Pysch, Burn Notice, even all the re run show, House, Law and Order, but I really want The Starter Wife back!! AHHH.... I am so frustrated, this is the first show in a very long time that I got excited about to watch!
BRING BACK THE STARTER WIFE!!!!!!

I am also really hoping that the Starter Wife is continued. I agree with whoever stated that 10 pm was too late although I recorded the show on my dvr.
It is fun and zany and is one of my favorite shows as well!

SO disappointed all other shows have started their new 2009 season and StarterWife has not. When can we get to find out about Molly & Zack? And JOAN?? Too many questions on all the characters.
So, USA> when can we get TSW back?
tiggergirl19
Jan 31 2009, 05:16 AM
I hope that it's coming back because there's more to tell in the story, when it left off, and we really don't know what happened to Joan's husband on the crusuze that they took, and we don't really know what's really going to happen with Zach and Molly, or any of the other characters. I would really love to see the relationship between the movie star and Molly's guy friend get more explored because it's a new relationship for both of them.

As of February 13 USA announced it was cancelled. :-(
I had a feeling when I saw previews of Chris in a new show during the Academy Awards last night...so I went and looked and unfortunately this show has been cancelled. Chris Diamantopoulos will be in the new show, "Under New Management." I'm glad to see him sticking around on tv. I can't wait to see even more from him!

Dear usa network, I think you should removed the starter wife from your network. They can put the starter wife on lifetime were they put all the other crapy shows that no one wants to see. No one wants to see a show about some old pms women whos writing a story about her love life..I vote for usa network to drop this crapy show. usa network keep rocking the good show like law and order svu and ci, house, burn notice, and monk, ncis, wwe. later shawn

please please please bring the starter wife back.... i am so totally tired of getting interested in a show only to find it gets cancelled before it gets a chance to work out all the kinks and find its stride... the mini series was awesome and the show had potential.... i think the reason there is nothing but crap crap and more crap on tv is because you dont keep anything around long enough to see if it is going to work or not! i think that if shows like cheers and seinfeld were being launched in todays tv market they would have never made it a season or past the pilot... and look what a shame that would have been!

This show HAS to return....it was my last hope for television that was worth watching advertising. It kept a group of us guessing and we had a Starter Wife night. Judy Davis was FANTASTIC. The show was classy, the writing was good, the topics were right out there. If there is anything tastful and funny and interesting leftt for those of us in the 40-60 year old demographic, THIS WAS IT.
If someone picks it up, I promise to buy what ever is advertised, unless it's a medication for parts that do not come with my gender.
BRING IT BACK PLEASE

You are entitled to your opinion. However, the comment about porn was unnecessary and actually invalidates your entire response. You should seek counseling and some grammar lessons.

I created the pickup The Starter Wife poll in hopes it would create a buzz and get the producer's attention. Although this may still happen, here is info on about the only way to contact Lifetime directly. This could be necessary if more people don't vote on the poll or start talking about it or something.
You may write to Lifetime by sending a postcard. All communications not sent via postcard will not be read. Send your postcard to:
