So, I recently became a fan of Criminal Intent due to watching a bunch of reruns on TNT and Bravo. I'm a little confused as to the format of the show. Obviously I noticed that there is a split of 2 different partners...Eames and Goran (which are the episodes I prefer) and Mike logan (I know hes replaced by Goldblum) and his partner. I haven't seen enough of the show to know how the split works...as far as I can tell, they are two completely different shows....you never see all 4 detectives in the same show. Is that all there is to it or is there some sort of backstory on the show that would explain that?

Also, I looked it up and only seasons 1-3 are on DVD....and its been that way for a while...anybody know if the rest are coming out?

Hi there and welcome to the board!

Seasons 1-4 were all Goren and Eames, but the shooting schedules for the actors was very intense. So starting season 5, they alternated episodes, one week Goren/Eames, the next Logan/Barek or Wheeler or Falacci. To introduce the Logan character (from the original Law & Order years ago) they brought him in on an episode in season 4 called "Stress Position". Then they started out season 5 with "Grow" which is Goren/Eames, but Logan shows up for his first week at Major Case and helps out. After that they split, except for a two parter in the middle of season 5 called "In The Wee Small Hours". Both teams work a case together, the first part focusing more on Logan's case, the second part on Goren/Eames' case.

Logan was on for 3 seasons, but as you've seen, starting next season he'll be replaced by Det. Zach Nichols, played by Jeff Goldblum. We're all waiting impatiently! New episodes should be coming out sometime in the spring.

As for more episodes on DVD... no word yet on that. But you can purchase most of them for download on Amazon.com. Also, If you subscribe to Netflix they are available for instant viewing online.

I hope you have fun here!

does "morbid heat" refer to necrophilia, decay, or sarcastic cops?

Thanks for that. Until I realized the pattern, it was really confusing to see the same show alternating main characters.

I'll check out Netflix, i have a lot to catch up on.

No, I am from Miami...which can account for the HEAT part of the name. It stands for Miami HEAT (NBA team). Morbid is an inside joke with my cousin that refers to an old wrestling video game for Nintendo 64 many years ago...don't remember what the game was called.

If you have a netflix account, you can watch all of the episodes of seasons 1-5 (I dont' think that S6 is available there). For about $2 per ep, you can download season 6 from Amazon Unbox. If you were to go this route, there are a few episodes that are 'Must See' because they contain themes that are important to the show, and then there are others that are cool eps, but aren't necessarily must see. G/E notes goren and eames, L/W are Logan and wheeler.

Must see S6 G/E

Blindspot
The War at Home
Endgame

Must See S6 L/W
Maltese Cross
Renewal

Other Good G/E
Siren Call (This could also be considered a must-see)
Albatross
Silencer
Brother's Keeper

Other Good L/W
Players
Flipped
Blasters
Country Crossover (a lot of people don't like this ep, but I think that it's cool)
Tru Love

You will definitely want to watch the ones from the must see g/e through some means. wink.gif Hope this helps.
