Latley I've been obsessed (kinda like BN) with anything by taylor swift, as you see my music choices are much diffrent than my T.V. choices

Hey!! Taylor Swift Rocks!!! (well maybe she countries!!! but that just sounds weird) My kids got both of her CDs for Christmas and we have been enjoying them very much. Currently I am learning to play Love Story on my guitar, but as far as listening...my teenager just went to see Les Miserable performed by PCPA at the Solvang Theatrefest and then found the complete sound track (in a Santa Cruz used book store: summer travels) and so that is what we are listening to. Loudly and many times.

Yeah, giving it up for Love Story and Les Miz! And Solvang, I've been there.

But mostly Les Miz.

Yeah it has a lot of pretty bits. Pretty soon my daughter will have memorized the sound track and then she wont bother with the CD; She'll just wander about singing it to her self, that's the fun part.

It's not a soundtrack if it's from a stage musical, it's a cast album. Sorry that kind of thing really bugs me! wink.gif
OBC=Original Broadway Cast

Listening to Metallica's "Enter the Sandman." I'm not much of a metalhead really, but I was thinking about that song earlier today and had to go digging through my stuff to find it and hear it again. My musical tastes run a little wild and all over the place anyway though.

I'm exactly the same way, I'm kind of like "Sybil" when it comes to music, it all depends on my mood, last weekend totally, totally into Opera, don't know why was just in the mood, a few weeks ago had the Black Eyed Peas on repeat on my iPod, then the New York Phil's recording of "Sweeney Todd". Today it was all about U2 after my slight 80s flashback this morning.

Well, I guess I'll be different. laugh.gif I'm a huge metal fan, so I listen to a lot of metal. Right now, I've been digging Devildriver's new record, Pray For Villians. The music is fast and I don't mind the vocals, although I think for some, they may not like it.

You are right! and she has the OBC; the Broadway Les Miserable. I am so vague about details like that, but there are other things that provoke my detail -noticing-get-it-exactly-right monster (like the wrong nature background sounds in movies) so I understand.

Hah! I planted an earworm in my son's head the other day. I had a mix cd of some oldies on in my car, and was listening to American Pie. When I got home, I posted on Facebook a line of lyrics, and he posted the next line. Later on, I heard him playing it on his guitar and singing it! It was great fun!

Speaking of my son, he got a call from a booking agency asking him and his band to play a 30 minute set at The Knitting Factory in LA! Was he flying high! Apparently they are booking local bands for this afternoon or evening event, I would guess 4-6 bands. I don't know who judges or by what criteria, but the winning band gets a free 20 hour recording session! Interestingly, he found out a few days later that some friends of his from high school choir, will also be playing there! I will give more info as I have it, all I know now is that the show is on OCt 4.

That is a great rock song. Good lyrics and high energy. The entire album, Hot Fuss is excellent. And so is the new Killers album, Day and Age.

What am I listening to know-

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly by Ennio Morricone. Scores are so often overlooked.

I totally LOVE that song, "sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same" I just adore that lyric! I have given thought to making a Michael/Fi video to it, but so far nothing.

OK currently listening to "Break the Ice"-Britney Spears I totally want to make a fun video to it, really, and get away from some of the angst.

Inspired by FiRocks' sig, lately I've been listening to various versions of Hallelujah, and other songs by Leonard Cohen (sung by him and others). --m

I've pretty much been listening to The Fray's cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival's song "Have You Ever Seen The Rain" non-stop recently. I can't think of anything better than my favourite song being covered by my favourite band

I love that song! I haven't heard The Fray's cover of it though, may have to check that out.

Anyway, my music tastes are on a per song basis. My mom jokes that I like country because I'm listening to a lot of Taylor Swift, Tied Together With a Smile is far too eerily close to how I feel about myself sometimes that I can't stop playing it. And I've got Rascal Flatts on my CD changer. I'm obsessed with Once, which I think oddly fits Michael post Friends Like These and I would be making a vid, but I have no time for it. The beginning and end of that song are "I should have been much further than this by now. A little bit more gone a little less twisted around"

At the moment, the first disc of the NCIS sountrack is on behind me. After All by Saving Abel just finished and No Matter What by Jakob Dyan is just starting.
TexasScaper
Right now I'm listening to Moby's "Play" cd. I hadn't listened to it in a long time, but they had one of the songs on Warehouse 13 this week and it reminded me how much I like it, so I had to dig that one out.

I don't normally listen to that particular music genre, tend more torward country, jazz, and some pop/rock, but that cd just strikes a chord with me.
TTRocks
Been listening to an old Joni Mitchell song that never made it to any of her early albums: "Urge for Going". Incredible talent.

"Drive Away", the Thomas Newman composition used at the end of "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events".

And the Ormandy transcription of Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor.

Also, can't get the "Guan Di" song from "My Name is Bruce" out of my head. HELP!

In honor of a high school buddy, I am listening to some Pearl Jam, Chili Peppers, and Nirvana. A random mix of songs from all three groups! smile.gif
