Why Is monk ending?

my reaction to the end of monk
anyone have any answers to the question this is aimed mainly at the forum admins but people please post and reply and if it does turn out that it just wasn't renewed PETITION!!!!

production costs have been increased and they are running out of creative ideas

My daughter and I LOVE MONK!!! We've watched every single MONK episode. We sat down on the couch and watched it every single night it was on and now theres only 16 left. We can't watch them after the last 16. We've always looked forward to it during the week. My daughter is only 11 and she LOVES to watch it!! It's like a tradition for us to watch MONK. But now it's coming to a end.


Please reconsider to keeping MONK on TV.

According to an article published today in the Honolulu Star Bulletin:

Shalhoub starts shooting his eighth and final season of "Monk" next month; the 16 episodes begin airing in late July or August. "Hopefully, we'll be able to wind up the story and tie up loose ends," he said from his home in Los Angeles. "It's kind of bittersweet. I love doing the part, and I work with tremendous people. But we've kind of explored all there is to explore in this area. I'm looking forward to whatever comes next."
