Story details from upcoming CI episode 'Folie a Deux', scheduled to air Friday, November 21 at 9PM on USA Network.
*************************************************
[Based on the Madeleine McCann story]
Based From a Wikipedia:Folie à deux (literally, 'a madness shared by two') is a rare psychiatric syndrome in which a symptom of psychosis (particularly a paranoid or delusional belief) is transmitted from one individual to another. The same syndrome shared by more than two people may be called folie à trois, folie à quatre, folie à famille or even folie à plusieurs (madness of many). Recent psychiatric classifications refer to the syndrome as shared psychotic disorder (DSM-IV) (297.3) and induced delusional disorder (folie à deux) (F.24) in the ICD-10, although the research literature largely uses the original name.

Sometimes, the title of the episode refers to two different storylines...

8x03 "Folie a Deux" will be the third episode of season 8; and it stars Goren and Eames as well guest starring Lynn Redgrave, (here's her bio:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lynn_Redgrave), and here are some interesting spoilers for the episode.
The cast reel at scribd.com Click here for
The story details at .:theReelblog:. siteJudging by the info three huge factors of the episode: the case is ripped from the headlines from the
Madeleine McCann case, Lynn Redgrave will play the missing child's great aunt, and the first appearance of Eames's sister, Liz.
The title is interesting because
Folie a Deux as I understand is "a madness shared by two" or a rare
psychiatric syndrome in which a symptom of
psychosis (particularly a paranoid or delusional belief) is transmitted from one individual to another; and judging the spoilers its the parents who will be sharing the syndrome.
**Here is my version of the synopsis:
When a child is missing, Goren and Eames investigate the child's dysfunctional parents about their and their child's whereabouts, even when the couple's friends and the child's great aunt are somehow involved. However the detectives must force to realize the child may not be alive. Meanwhile, Eames gets reacquainted with her sister, Liz.

I wonder....if the sister that Alex is meeting is the same sister she was a surrogate for....could her sister be asking her to do it again for a little brother or sister for Alex's nephew? Just a thought... It would be my wildest dream come true if Alex talked to her sister about "feelings" she has for her partner. I keep remembering Dec saying she cares deeply for Bobby (or words to that effect).
I'm sure I'm wildly conjecturing something that will never, ever happen, in both instances, but...who knows???!!!

Good insights, Firefall. I don't think Eames and her sister will be reacquainted, though. That suggests they have lost touch and I don't see not seeing her nephew. Maybe Eames gets really upset about the missing child and goes to see her nephew. When she talks to her sister, she realizes things aren't that peachy.

We don't know weather or not they've been in touch. Maybe it was harder for her to give up her nephew than the show has let on. The times she talks about, and the few times she's mentioned pictures, she could have gotten them through another member of her family. And they've never said the nephew she talks about is infact the one she gave up. Maybe it has just been too hard for her to see him a reminder of the family she doesn't have. Who knows maybe their getting reay for Eames to start thinking about having a baby by herself and that's what she going to see her sister for, a little sisterly advice.

She was having Thanksgiving with them when she was called away at the beginning of "The War at Home Episode".
I don't think that they are estranged.
Maybe her sister is ill and wants to know if Eames will take care of her son if anything ever happens to her and her husband couldn't (or wouldn't). This would open a whole new set of issues with Eames regarding motherhood. It could be a great out if KE ever wanted to leave the show.
Maybe the husband is in trouble and she needs Eames' help.
We could go on and on and on (I'm sure we will).

That's a good point, but as for the Thanksgiving scene in "The War At Home" all we know is she was with her family. They've never said how many brothers and sisters she has. I come from a large family and I know from experience that when it comes to parents and holidays, everyone will call a truce for a few hours.
I still think they need to deal with the emotional issues of being a suggrogate, they never did that. We all know Erbe can play dramatic very well, she proved it in "Amends", they need to give her something to work with and that's a good heartbreaking topic. Towards the end last season all they did was keep her mad at Bobby, and that's just wrong, (we're all gonna side with hiim anyway, so what's the point??)

Hi. I don't think anyone has suggested this, yet, but it could be that the (or an)other "Folie à Deux" that the episode title refers to is the partnership between Goren and Eames. If Eames has a heart-to-heart with her sister about the tough year she and Bobby have had, this could clarify what she's feeling about the craziness that she followed him through all last year. In a way, all relationships are a kind of madness - an irrational devotion to another person.
Certainly, the relationship between Goren and Eames has, in the last few seasons, been characterized by an irrational devotion or dependency on each other. Goren's distress over Eames's kidnapping, Eames's defense of Goren to Ross throughout his mother's illness, the tension between them throughout Season 7 - up to and including "Frame". What used to be a more classic cop partnership has obviously developed into something more intense, and perhaps more destructive for Eames. I'm not saying that this is a romantic relationship, but the sheer emotional intensity between them has increased exponentially, and Eames might take the opportunity to talk to her sister about just how she feels about the way things have been between her and Bobby, about the "madness" of their blind devotion to each other and what it's doing for her or to her.
This is kind of what I'm hoping for - some insight into how Eames is feeling about her life as Goren's partner.

Welcome, thisisayellow! Love your thoughts, thanks for sharing. It's possible, since they used the title, "Betrayed" for both Ross' betrayal and Eames' "betrayal." The reason their relationship is so hard to figure out is because we don't know exactly what they're feeilng, and neither do they. Hopefully, they give us
something to what Alex is thinking, like In the Wee Small Hours, and see if her feelings have stayed or changed since then. (By the way, I like how you said "blind devotion"

, it matches.)

Thinking about this, and listening to "How To Save A Life" on my way home from the library, it occured to me that Eames's family might be attempting some sort of intervention--I read somewhere that Eames's sister tries to convince her to quit the force.
