Hello peoples, I was just missin the show and thought I would come on here and rant a little. I don't come here that often cuz it's so darn depressin bein reminded of how much I love the show and knowin there is no ending to it. Actually, without having seen the show for a long time it's easy to forget how good it is and to not be that bothered by the loss of the show, but I really do want the last season to be given to us.
I have to say though, that I have my doubts that there will ever be a fifth season. I mean, what has it been, 3, 4 years? I know that USA still keeps this site up and the board is still active but from what I see in the way of efforts to get the show back it just doesn't look that promising to me. I hate to be a killjoy but let's be real here....the petition on this site is useless, it has been up for maybe 2 years or so and there are only like a thousand names on it, including mine. Common sense will tell you that no network will sign on for a fifth season of a show based on the request of a thousand people. I know that there are alot more than that who are fans of the show but apparantly not all of them come to this site. I also know that there are other petititons out there with more names on them but this is the most popular one.
I skimmed across a couple of posts that talked about boycotting usa and not buyin dvds and I have to say that I can't really think that that will do any good. You have to know that for every person out there who is a fan of the show there are probably at least two who arent and who probably are a fan of other usa shows now on. I think most of the shows they have now are so goofy like The Starter Wife, and Burn Notice but I still do watch the network for movies and will occasionally watch Law and Order Criminal Intent.
I guess what I'm sayin is, get real, we aren't gonna be able to hurt the network by not watchin cuz there will always be someone who is watchin.
The thing that I find so dissapointing is that when I do a search in google for the 4400 I find the same stuff that I found a year ago. I find it hard to believe that a show that was such a big success for 4 years and that took the participation of hundreds of people to put on can be just erased in a day and that all of the producers, actors, and writers can just remain silent about it. Maybe they aren't, maybe there are things taking place that I don't know about and if there are please tell me what they are. Is the creator of the show doing anything about this or has he moved on? Are the actors and producers raising awareness and going to other networks? I hope so. But I have to say that I think that if that doesn't happen there is little chance the show will return.
I honestly believe we are wasting our breath on usa because there just aren't enough of us to make a stir. The people we really need to be communicating with are the creators of the show and the ones who are really in the position to do something about it.
All I see at this point is a scattered bunch of disorganized people all over the place, including myself, complaining about the loss of the show and I don't see anyone taking that very seriously.
I'm not being cynical, I'm sayin all this as a fan of the show, but I do believe in bein realistic and I have to say that whatever is being done so far, it isn't working. Referring back to the petition, it will be ten years before there are enough names on that list to amount to anything at this rate, by that time so many changes will have to be made to the storyline of the show to make it current that it is doubtfull that the quality will be that great anyway due to the pressure of having to cotemporize the show with current events.
Any thoughts or comments are welcome. Later.

Okay, either what I had to say was really profound or not profound at all. Either way is ok I guess.

Boycotting will not do a bit of good - *BUYING* DVDs will make a difference (for most shows). Family Guy was cancelled by Fox. But when it became the #1 selling DVD folks began to realize that, "Hey, this show could still make money." Unfortunately, I think that there just isn't enough audience, even if everyone bought 2 copies of every season, to support a show as costly to produce as 4400.

All I've ever seen from any of the cast of any show that has petitions to keep it alive is, "I am [honored, impressed, stunned] by the efforts of our fans and [support, applaud, etc] their work." But other than Richard Hatch trying to get Battlestar Galactica back on, I have yet to see anyone actually participate in said efforts. Show cancellation is a fact of life in the entertainment industry. Few actors are going to spend time fighting to get their show reactivated. Most will choose to move on and find other work - like most of the actors/actresses on 4400. They, like us, still need to put food on the table, pay their mortgages, et al.

Well, I guess I just wish the 4400 could be like firefly, the show was on for one season, everyone protested, and the creators of the show made a movie that was a huge success. I know alot of us are complaining but I don't know if anyone is listening.
