Let's see if we can consolidate opinions on the new series so the writers/producers can see when they cruise these boards (and I'll betcha they do)....... positive feedback here (if you have negative ones post to the other thread... thanks!)

I did like the new trophy wife to a sport's star as a new friend. Hopefully, being thrown under the bus in the first episode will not make her an enemy.
StarterWife3
If they hadn't gone and changed so much maybe there MIGHT be something good to say about the new series. So far nothing good to say. Now read that 1 and try not to make these kinds of mistakes when making a serious from a mini series. Watched the commercials for months trying to figure out who these faces were and turns out to be cast changes. Wow important ones at that. Can you say Poof to this show.
POOF!!!
StarterWife3
Oh sorry didnt catch that you only wanted positve feedback. Well feedback is feedback and to me and many others not much positive to say about this show now. I think they need to see that too. There are always 2 sides.

I really liked this show -- it's very funny (except for the dream sequences which were odd) and I love the new Kenny! He's so much cuter than the other one. Can't wait for the next episode!
StarterWife3
Kennys unattractivness is what made him who he was in the first show. No female really wanted him if he hadnt been for who he was and his money. Now whats so special about a cute rich man in Hollywood? You cant go changing that and it make sense.

I don't understand why there are so many negative posts! I absolutely love the series, is funny and charming. It's true that maybe the new Kenny does not reflect exactly what the "old" Kenny did, but all the other characters are great, especially Joan McAllister! She is sassy and honest. I don't know where the story is going but I love the trip!

I think Debra Messing is adorable and funny and started watching this series just because of her! I really enjoy the show and look forward to it every week! (Coming from a person who NEVER watches tv series.) Judy Davis (Joan) is a kick!, Kenny, the ex, is cute & perfect for the part, Zach, the writer is sexy and I love their relationship!, and Rodney is great. The writing is witty and quick & I tivo the show while I'm watching it so I can watch again and again to catch the snapy dialog. I hope the series continues for a long long time because I'm hooked!

is cute-or interesting! i hope they get a cute
actor that the audience can identify with.

I enjoy this show as well. Its fresh and original, and Debra Messing has never looked more beautiful.
('though it's a shame they replaced the old Kenny--the new one is too good looking.)

Let's all hope Molly finds "herself" and becomes a success on her own steam before she marries again.
(her name is Molly, right? I've had 2 glasses of wine)

And HEY...what happened to the woman who was the front gate guard, going to university and who moved in with Molly with her grandma and dog?

I absolutely LOVE this show! I've always enjoyed Debra Messing's work and felt connected to her characters but I am completely addicted to The Starter Wife. Love the story, the characters (although I agree with almost everyone that the "new" Kenny is completely wrong), the plots, everything. "Molly" is great, "Joan" is hilarious, "Rodney" is adorable! Please keep this one going!!!! (Bring Joe Montagna back more often!)

laugh.gif I love the show! Some of the character/actor changes were expected, since some may have had other committments. But when I watched the mini series last year, I said I wished Debra Messing would be ready to be in a series again because I fell in love w/ her all over again. She definitely does great comedy.
Someone said it was too over the top, but isn't everything in LA too over the top?
EvainBrentwood
Debra Messing's character (Gracie) is fun, full of life, unpredictable and refreshing! I enjoy watching this show and I look forward to it every week! She does need to change the locks, Kenny shouldn't be able to walk in at any time... like when she and Zach are taking a bath.... Hellllooooo! biggrin.gif

I love the show. I could do without the gay sex scenes though. My 13 yr old son was in the room when I turned on the tvo and I was pretty shocked and so was he. I had to shut it off, not soon enough though! I won't be watching it when he is home. Besides that, I love the plot, Joan cracks me up. I think Lou is adorable, I would marry him if I were her....I hope it stays on for at least another season. I see alot of complaints about the show, but it is very entertaining if you don't take it too seriously.

I absolutely love this show. It's fun and sassy. . .they took real life drama and took it up a notch. The characters are witty, sexy, and funny. I look forward to my one hour escape into Molly's world each week! I think that many of us can relate to one character or another on this show at some point. I hope this stays!! I can never figure out how stupid shows like "King of the Hill" make it and great shows like Cashmere Mafia or Women's Murder Club get the axe - this is a FANTASTIC show - it's the Sex and the City for the west coast. biggrin.gif

Keep this one!!

Love this new series! Debra Messing is a natural in this part. As a new mommy, I actually look forward to my late night feedings on Friday nights to watch my tivo'd show! This is my S&TC replacement! Understand the cast changes, but I do miss Cricket. Joan is hilarious! Thanks!
tiggergirl19
I love the show because it shows the women who watch it, that this could happen to them, or the men watching it, ha ha, might ask if they were once married. I think that it makes people really think about how they treat people in their relationships with each other. I think that it has its good and its bad, but you can't always find it in each episode.
LisaTN
I love this show. After the mini series I hoped they would make a series out of it. I love Debra Messing, she's wonderful in anything she does. I like her with Zack but would rather see her marry Lou down the line. The only problem with that is that would take him away from Criminal Minds for too long or possibly permantly and I don't want that. This way he's on Starter Wife from time to time and still on Criminal Minds all the time. I love Joe Montagna on anything he does just like I do Debra. I agree with the others that say this is their s&tc fix. I wait all week til Friday to get my fix. I'm fine with the character changes. Joan is a riot. She brings so much fun to the show, you never know what she's gonna get herself, Molly, and Rodney into. At first when she started with David Shae I was totally against it but it's grown on me. When we last saw her it appears she's fallen for him. Since he's gotten sober I think they are good together, especially since she's not happy in her marriage. I'm not sure about Rodney and his feller yet. It's sad that he's found out that he suffers from bipolar and if off his meds. I think he will break it off with him between that and how fond he's become of the girlfriend (sorry, can't remember their names). That scene showed that the show can be funny yet very serious. I definately hope the show lasts a long time.
BAKED_BEV
Kenny took it. He saw a way to get $$ anonamously
I love the mini movie at each show start, love Joan,
Lou, Jane Leeves, Molly's sassinessl. it's fun to watch.
KUDO's to the writers AND actors.
Love ya'll

I love this series. Loved the book. Loved the mini series so much that I bought the DVDs. Such a fun show. I record it every Friday because I am at work. Sitting down with a glass of wine & watching Molly is a fun relaxing moment in my week.
Deb195
This show is absolutely fantastic. I've already started quoting this show in my everyday life it's so good. My husband is still quoting the Godfather and I think... ha... that's old news!!! I love the relationship with Felix and Rodney, when he was stuck in the bathroom shouting at Rodney how he loves him and he wants to tell someone else! And the scene where Lou and Ann make up, omg I've seen it every time it airs and it still makes me tear up. She always over prepares!
I love that they air a few previous episodes on Friday mornings too... I can say I'm a bit over the commercials too, maybe a bit much but It's a great show with many parts that appear outlandish but they're just how life is... getting together with your ex the night before your boyfriend decides he wants to treat you to breakfast in bed. I coulda told her that that would happen with all that Vodka they drank.
I was so happy when Joan jumped out of the limo and jumped on the horse with her lover Tom... I was so sad it was a dream.
I love how there are scene's she lives that are from real movies, Dirty Harry being the most recent.
That is really COOL!
Oh I just love this show, so many thing...
yak later... the show's on!!!!
Ana
biggrin.gif I absolutely love the show. its my favorite show. I like the new Kenny better. So what if he's cuter then the first one. At first I was like why did they switch him. But now I think this Kenny is way better for the character. I also love the dreams at the beginning I think its so different and fun. I can't wait for every Friday. I record every show. I hope this show keeps going strong.

I LOVE this show! Yes, it's quirky and sometimes unbelieveable - but the characters are so funny and unique! I DVR it every Friday night and watch it when I need a little perk me up later on. I hope USA keeps bringing on the episodes!

I also like the new Kenny better and I can't wait for Joan to come back from her cruise!
grhon
Yes, I love this show - the diversity, the dream sequences and the suspense. Each cast member brings something new and authentic to their characters. Good job USANetwork!
babytonia
I think it has been a great extension of the original. The picture of her on this site doesn't look like her very much but I think everyone on the show is great. I think bringing so many different types of personal drama to the series is making me want to come back for more.
mrspain
I love it! Just love it, well, there was only one Golden Girls, so the cast may not be the absolute best, but as long as Molly, and Felix are there, hey, i'm fine lol!

I just love the series ~ it is laugh out loud funny at times, not as funny as the orig. miniseries, but way better than most series on tv. Love, love, Debra M. and her clothes, love Hart Bochner as Zach and the ZACH?molly relationship. Love the friendships that Molly has.
Messingfan
I really like the series! It is refreshing and quirky amid a sea of CSI and Law and Order clones! I love Debra Messing!

I LOVE this new show. As a two time starter wife, I didn;t want to watch it but I am so glad I did. USA showed it all day on Friday and I stayed in bed and watched everyone of them. I can't wait for Friday. The cast is perfect and they work so wonderfully together. THANK YOU!

I wish i couild afford to make a trip to LA I love it there, been a while. I met so many fine actors there many years ago. my kids belong in show business, me I'm just a tough guy from the old days living in Oregon raising my kids away from the drugs and gangs of the big City. But man this show the Starterwife is really awesome I look forward to each episode. please do keep it going for many years to come. Thanks again

I love this show! I never saw the mini-series, so my reading on this message board was the first I knew about re-casts and the like. For those of us that never saw the mini-series the casting is fine!
debramessingfan
This is my favorite show! I've watched every episode, and saw the miniseries too. I'm not usually home on Friday nights so I usually watch it online, or catch it on repeat on other nights. I'm sad that it is ending for the season. I love all the characters, but especially Molly, Rodney and Joan's friendship. Although it's in glamourous Hollywood, I think their friendships are realistic. I'm happy that Rodney and Felix are together and Joan and David seem perfect together.
Spoiler:
I hope that Joan doesn't have to go to jail like it looks like from the finale! I'm also glad that Zach is going to be gone, he seems like a jerk.
Uhuragirl
I absolutely love this series. The characters are so engaging and the humor is the best. I like the opening movie take-offs. Excellemt cast I just wish Joe Montegna could be around more.

smile.gif Love the show it is great. Just what I need to put me in a good mood at the end of a long week. Love all the characters. they must return for a second season or I'll go nuts wondering whats going to happen especially with Joan.

I love the Starter Wife show and wish it would come back. I think the characters are very funny and the acting is great. I first became aware of this show in 2008 and I have watched every episode. I really miss it and hope that it will continue. Debra M. is a great actress and I love the character/actress Joan in the series.
bobbictx
I LOVE this show and am anxiously awaiting more episodes! PLEASE make more episodes!
And really, I'm not one of those that watches tons of TV. But this show, I make a point to watch. Great show in every way, the only thing I could live without is the dream sequences (is that the proper terminology?). some of the dream scenes were a little funny, but they're really kind of pointless.

I have my DVR ready and waiting to record more episodes.

GREAT SHOW!!! When I missed it on Friday night, I watched on-line. I'd like to see a Starter Wife marathan, similar to what's done for House. People need to see the show and get connected with the characters. So producers, see what you can do! Or, get the time changed to 900, switch with Monk or Psych.

Please bring it back! Oh, I do like the dream sequences, very different and fun from other series.
swagco
I love the show! The character of Molly is endearing, irritating, funny and a complete mess, just like your best girl friend. I watch the show on Hulu, because I'm at my desk working around the clock and can never manage to pull away in time to catch anything on TV any more. I'm glad USA has put some of my favorite shows on Hulu, it makes work MUCH more enjoyable. So the moral of the story... Love the show! Love the characters and I hope to see more.
Vandervate
I love the show. I love all of the characters. The first time I saw anything about this show, I believe it was the old, or first series and then when I saw the new series I recognized characters changed. I usually do not like this, however, I loved it in this show. The Starter Wife is one of the best shows I have ever seen and really hope they continue airing somewhere. From the dreams, the love, the friendship, sudden twists (which were awesome), to the seriousness, the independent mom, and to the large family throughout the show, it was all awesome and made the show what it was. The Starter Wife was an excellent show that I was anxious to see every Friday. I want that anxiousness back...please air the show still...find another network!
cbanghart
I was very disappointed to hear that this fun new show will not be coming back. I always looked forward to watching The Starter Wife each week during the season and will miss it. I hope that Lifetime does pick it up. Debra Messing is wonderful in it and the rest of the cast is very likable, too. Sure the lifestyle is not how most of us live, but that's part of what makes it so interesting to watch.

cwlegal218
Debra Messing is an outstandig actress who pours her soul into each and every portion of the shows she does includng Starter Wife. She is humorous and intelligent.
