Writing, as always, and CI, of course. VDO, definitely. And reading. I also love snakes (we have four) and I am just getting into a brand new hobby which I find entirely fascinating: tarantulas. We have five of them and I absolutely love 'em. We are going to try our hand at raising spiderlings next. One good thing that has come from them: Katie no longer abandons her bedroom when she sees a spider on the ceiling. She has come to an uneasy truce with spiders. Now, this is the same child who, at the age of four, I found in the backyard of our Colorado home playing with a black widow. I nearly had a heart attack. But tarantulas, though big and hairy, are mostly harmless.

House has been good, anyone see the other night, So said Cutty didn't get the baby, but wow she and House had a great Kiss.
Also watching Dirty Sexy Money, Love that guy that had played on CI as the photographer he plays an ex priest on this show.
Also Like the new show Fringe. And TNT Raising the Bar is pretty good, you get to see the LAW, part of the criminal justice system. Still watching Bones, CSI original, Grey's Antomy, ER since Carver is suppose to make an appearance, since his wife is on there, now. Some I have to tape and watch later. Criminal Minds, NCIS, those are mostly the can't miss. Will have to add law and order the orginal. Oh and I watch SVU which hasn't impressed me much lately. Comedies, How I met your mother, Christine, The Big Bang, TWo and a half men, Till Death ( that one is too much like my marriage, lol.) I liked Flashpoint don't know what happened to it. Maybe it was a summer program? I also like Amazing Race and been watching Survivor.
Oh and when its the new season, Monk, psych, and closer.

Psych
SVU (reruns)
NCIS (reruns)
JAG
House
I think that's all. Oh, and of course the movies they show over the weekend.

What am I into?? Well, right now, I love Fringe, House which I just started watching, The Mentalist, Private Practice, SVU, Smallville and 90210. I watch Pushing Daisies and Samantha Who but I am not really into them like the others. Now when January comes, I am really stoked to see Medium and Kyle XY.

The only new show I'm definitely hooked on is The Mentalist. Sooo much better follow up to NCIS than The Unit was. I'm still watching My Own Worst Enemy and True Blood, but I'm not sure if they will keep my interest or not. On MOWE, I'm getting tired of Henry's angst. I get it, but it's kind boring to watch. I love the Edward parts. On True Blood, I like the world they've created and the main vampire is dreamy, but Anna Paquin is annoying me a little and there is a lot of very graphic, very unappealing sex. I'm not a prude, but... yuck. Oh ya, and I'm kind of liking Raising the Bar. Not super special, but worth catching for the most part.
My "new to me" picks for this year are How I Met Your Mother (Neil Patrick Harris steals every scene he's in) and The Big Bang Theory, both on Monday night. Anyone who's ever spent time around any university's science departments has got to be howling at that one.
Returning favs for me (other than LOCI, obviously) are NCIS, Burn Notice (when are we getting new eppys of that?) Dexter (now with Jimmy Smits!) Entourage (guilty pleasure), and Lipstick Jungle (mostly for the clothes). The Saving Grace season was much too short, Holly Hunter is fierce in that role. I'm kinda looking forward to the new L&O mothership episodes coming out. I havn't warmed to the new detectives yet, but I really like watching Jack and the new guy wrestle with each other.

Hehe. I like Project Runway once in a while; it's fun to see a reality show where they are actually making something. I like Design Star for the same reason.
But there are so many reasons to love Tim Gunn. He was a professor at Parson's for something like 20 years, so he's not just some "TV personality". He really knows his business. Then on top of that, he's just so genuine and funny and classy. His show, Tim Gunn's Guide to Style, is a similar thing to What Not To Wear, but instead of mocking the women, he teachs and explains why this and not that and never stoops to the cheap shot for a laugh. The more I see of his personality, the more I wish I knew him.
Also, as my sister has felt the need to point out, I seem to be attracted to gay men. Not in the "I want to date him" sort of way, but in the "I want to go to dinner, go out for drinks, go shopping, go to a show, sit around and watch old movies with a bottle of wine with him" sort of way. According to her, Vincent is the only straight man I'm attracted to and then only because he kisses men in movies. I think she's full of it (she's my little sister... you know how
they are) but my current obsessions with Neil Patrick Harris and Tim Gunn (and those lovely years of adoration for all five of the Queer Eye guys) would seem to suggest that she might have the teensiest of points. Nobody tell her... okay?

TV wise: Burn Notice (first season began airing here 4 weeks ago and i love it), Bones, Grey's, Cold Case, Medium and i think i'm going to like 'Life' which just started its run here...though Charlie Crews is a tad too much like Goren in parts regarding the 'quirkiness'.
I like to write but my muse has deserted me for now, really fond of wordsearches (i get lost in them for hours) and love my laptop too. My books also, i'm not reading anything in particular, just dipping into different ones here and there.

*SQUEE* Brian! Brian is both one of the most hilarious and "real" characters on that series. Glenn Fitzgerald certainly plays brooding losers well, and find a way to make them loveable in their own way (When he was playing the amateur artist, I at least had sympathy for him...>_>). The way he interacts with Brian Jr. is so interesting and adorable too.
Besides the Dirty Sexy, the newer shows I'm into are Life, because Charlie Crews is such an interesting ball of contradictions.
Music-wise I'm super into Lady Gaga, who takes pop club music and gives it a bit of an edge. And she sounds like Queen, so that instantly wins my heart.

Grey's DeGayedIt seems to me that for all of the efforts to portray gay characters and gay relationships "realistically", the television industry has done more damage to the argument "they are born that way" than all the marching evangelicals in the country. I can't keep track of the shows where I have seen a character "discover" he or she is gay, only to discover a season or two later "oops, nope, I guess I'm not". If I were to rely on TV for education I would be wondering if any day now I'm gay--well, for today since it seems to come and go at random.
Oh and I stopped watching Grey's when George cheated on Callie with Izzy. Isn't there a decent marriage somewhere to be found on TV?

I never watched Lipstick Jungle. Like others, I wanted to like My Own Worst Enemy but just never "bonded" with it.
I have a bad feeling about one of my favorite shows, though. I think NBC is trying to kill Life.

They keep moving it around so I never know when it's on. I missed on episode because it had been on Friday nights then suddenly it was on Wednesday just before Law and Order. I didn't realize it until I tuned in for L&O. So now it's on opposite Criminal Minds. The way NBC is treating it tells me they want to kill it for some reason.
I just have to tell about this one scene (although seeing it is SO much better). The two detectives arrive at a crime scene at a drug research company and find a researcher frozen solid, holding an oxygen mask to his face. Seems he would use oxygen when he was working long hours to give him energy. But someone replaced his oxygen with liquid nitrogen and he froze when he inhaled it. Very freaky looking. While his partner is talking to the owner of the research company (played by the creepy veterinarian from Zoonotic), Crews is looking over this frozen man. He takes his pen out and very gently touches it to the guy's cheek. And he cracks and shatters into millions of pieces! The look on Crews' face is priceless. His partner looks at him and says, "Do you have to touch everything?" I thought that was truly a Goren/Eames moment! Later, back in the squad room his captain tells him, "CSU had to bag every piece separately. You might want to send them something." Have I mentioned that I love this show?
