Full Version: JD interview about "Good Soldier

Even though I am not a prolific poster, I am still miffed about having to re-register to get back in. I guess the Log-in troubles continue. Anyway, enough complaining and onto the good stuff. There is a video of an interview with JD, I'm guessing post Emmys, with Ausiello from EW talking about the scene from "Good Soldier" here. Apparently, he did just add the extra double meaning of the scene because of how the two of them happened to be looking at each other. I was just in awe of the clip because it is so rare to see interviews of him!

great find. Thanks. Loved it. I could not stop smiling and gushing as well. But I have no idea what Jeffrey was wearing. It looked like a "Little doll shirt" or a member's only type jacket. But adorably cute none the less. I think if I had done the interview. I would have been too technical in questions and not so much fly by because I love to hear answers that are as much off the cuff as detailed as possible. A bit too conviluded but... just listening to him talk is amazing.

Okay, that was so much better than Emmy party photos and we got answers on the scene!!

Thank you JD and Mr. Ausiello at EW!!

That was a fantastic interview - thanks for posting it for us, Burn_Baby_Burn (and for hanging in there with the log-in problems). JD never ceases to amaze me. He's a tremendous actor and I have so much respect for the process through which he and GA "find" the meaning in a scene.

Burn Notice is unique because of the outstanding writing and acting. And because of Matt Nix, a uniquely talented person. I loved how JD said, "I'm a big believer in Matt Nix." Very cool.

ETA: tgirl - I also liked getting JD's input on "the scene" - that was pretty cool!

ETA again: a "little doll shirt" or a member's only type jacket laugh.gif That's hilarious, LuLu. Indeed he is adorably cute.

oh my!! loved that interview!!! Thanks burnBabyburn. And how amazing is it that they (JD & GA) added in the extra meaning by the way they were playing it! fantastic job! He is so adorable, loved his laughing at being famous/in the Clint Eastwood movie. and anybody take notice of his girlfriend in the background smiling so clearly proud of him !! Much success to both of them (loved her dress too!! biggrin.gif )
Peace.

It's great to see hand hear JD talk about BN and his work. What a nice guy! Thanks for the great find laugh.gif . I think we knew that JD & GA put a spin on that scene.

Did you all notice the blonde in the background (wearing black & white)? Sure looks like JD's girlfriend.

What a great little video to wake up to this morning! Thanks so much for posting this!

You know, I think Matt Nix struck gold when they cast Jeffrey Donovan and Gabrielle Anwar in this show. They seem to have more of a spark and more of a connection than I've seen in television in a long, long time. And more credit to the both of them for taking the context of that scene and making it all the more powerful.

Loved the interview and JD's infectious laugh. biggrin.gif

Thanks so much burnbabyburn for posting the link to this interview, it was a really great find! LOVE how he talked about how he and Gabrielle added that subtext to the scene that wasn't written originally it was great to get confirmation about it. smile.gif

I got an email from a little birdy at the crack dawn this morning telling me that this interview had been posted and like the dedicated JD-Aholic that I am, I figured I'd do my make up on the train and watch the clip instead.

What can I say that all of us aren't already thinking.... Can he be more adorable.

Jeffrey actually answered my question. The question I posted in the FIRocks thread -- Question to Matt Nix. I asked whether that scene was written that way or if the actors brought something more to it in their interpretation of the scene and JD actually addressed that in this interview. It was in large part JD and GA that made the scene what it was in the way they played it. Brilliant they are. BRILLIANT. It just goes to show that if you have two really in touch actors that love their materials and are devoted to their characters and to the telling the story, then you have great moments like the ones between Michael / Fi.

I loved how excited he got about Changeling. I was excited to see the movie to begin with but now I'm ever more excited. Of course, the way he expressed his dedication to Burn Notice, no matter where his career leads, was perfectly stated.

He looks adorable, seemed really happy to be there. That seems to be his girlfriend standing back. She really is beautiful.

Thanks for posting that link. That was a great interview. It's awesome that him and Gabrielle really found that emotional connection to their characters during that scene. It was amazing. I was happy to hear him talk about The Changeling as well. That little giggle fit beforehand was aboslutely adorable.

I found some red carpet interviews he did a few yrs ago. They are on video at WIRE IMAGE. I tried to post the link but it would not work.
You can probably GOOGLE WIRE IMAGE. Then when you get to the site just type in Jeffrey Donovan then under that click videos and then click search. The pictures of the red carpet interviews will come up.The problem is you have to have a paid subscription to WIRE IMAGE to play the videos. It costs $35-$75 to subscribe. There are 4 video interviews at different events.

That was a fantastic JD interview, Burn_Baby_Burn. He's absolutely so personable and down-to-earth. I could watch him all day... biggrin.gif

It did look like his girlfriend in the background. Gia, I liked the dress, too!

laugh.gif He does have a pretty girlfriend. I think they are a cute couple.

She is beautiful and looks very stylish - in some ways, her style reminds me of Gabrielle Anwar's (GA always looks very chic, in a bohemian/funky sort of way)...

Just because he's such a cutie pie, here's a screencap of Jeffrey being interviewed by EW reporter Michael Ausiello (hope I'm spelling that correctly!) ...

ETA: I didn't even notice that chick checking JD out until I posted this pic here! That's hilarious. laugh.gif

Phillipa.. Oh my goodess..that screencap is hysterical with that girl checking out JD's rear... Very very funny.

LOL!! I didn't even notice that when I screencapped it, evelina... laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Here's another one - just because, you know, when isn't it a good thing to check out Jeffrey Donovan. Of course, we don't have access to the same angle as that woman behind Jeff. *LMAO* Say - does anyone remember that jacket/shirt thingy that Michael Westen wears when he's fighting off Jan, the Czech assassin sent to kill him? He's at the hotel and he's fighting Jan...I swear this is the same shirt/jacket that Michael wore in that scene... [how insane is this, that I actually remember what Michael was wearing in that scene, LOL]

laugh.gif That is a funny pic. It would be even funnier if she had pinched him!
I wouldn't blame her one bit if she did!
Wonder what his girlfriend would think/do if she saw the chick checking her man?
If it were me that chick would have left the party BALD!! biggrin.gif laugh.gif
