I'm trying to figure out what kind of car the guys drive on the show, the small blue car.
The interior shots look like a Toyota Echo, my wife has one, and some of the front shots of the hood and headlights look like a 2002ish Toyota echo.
The back end of the car though looks like no echo I have ever seen. It looks almost like some of the newer Scion or honda FIT cars.
Any ideas?

Totally borrowed from an answer I found by googling:
"The character "Gus" drives a blue Toyota Yaris hatchback, though it is referred to on the show as a Toyota Echo, the model the Yaris replaced. Toyota Web site (2007-10-04). The 5-door model IMCDb.org. he drives is sold in Canada but NOT available in the United States."
I've definitely heard the creator/producers of the show call it an Echo, but others have called it a Yaris.
I don't know if there was a hatchback 5-door Echo before the Yaris replaced it or not, nor do I knwo the year of the one they use (which may make the distinction between Echo and Yaris, maybe?).
I do know that the model used in the show is, as mentioned above, only available in Canada (where they film the show).
EDIT: Found a bit more info from Wikipedia: "The first generation Toyota Vitz (1999 - 2005) sold as the Toyota Echo in Australia, Hong Kong, several other Asian markets, and also in Canada from 2004 to 2005 as the Toyota Echo hatchback. It is now sold in all those markets as the "Yaris" The Yaris is sold in South America and the Caribbean. Its sold mostly in Aruba and has some illegal chains in Bolivia."
So, assuming it is a 2004 or 2005, then it was sold as an Echo in Canada where Psych is shot (which makes sense given the time line of the show).

Yeah, in "Bounty Hunters!" Byrd called it a blue "Echo". So I'm pretty sure it's the Toyota Echo.
its a Toyota yaris. i was car shopping a few months ago and almost bought one, they rock on gas mileage. funny thing was when i first saw it i was life" dang i know i have seen that car before" then it clicked. its defiantly a yaris. they are really cool cars, and cheap too. good car to get. nope i didn't buy it. but im still thinking i might, cant decide on one yet.

It's an Echo; they say so in the commentaries, Byrd says it in Bounty Hunters, and Gus says in Rob-A-Bye Baby "I will not have my Echo be a part of your flagrant disregarding of the Chief."

The Echo is the canadian version. It's the same frame as a Scion XA (also made by Toyota). The Echo and Scion are similar to the Yaris hatchback except they are 5 door instead of 3 door (hence sharing the same frame and not being the same frame as the Yaris). I bought my XA right before I started watching Psych and was really surprised to see my car on tv...
