Dang! Where did the summer go? I can't believe that we are here. The last episode of summer for Psych. And it is a doozy. Alan Ruck aka Cameron Fye is in this episode and my favorite, the man I said I wanted to guest star on this series and is featured in the ads, Gary Cole. And if you have seen the promos, it is going to be awesome!

Everything looks great. Can't wait!!
However (sorry to break the mood) the last episode has the perfect balance of serious and goofy. I really hope they don't break that with Gus being held hostage and all. Let there be some comic relief even in the danger scenes. Shawn doesn't have a serious mode, except maybe with his mom.

well shawn does tend to be pretty funny in some serious scenes ( for example: 9 lives, Woman seeking dead husband- smokers okay, no pets, there might be blood, etc..)

Just to jump in before things get ugly; my comments on the Jules situation from another post:
Just for the record, I still love Jules, still think she is Shawn's perfect match, and I will continue to have faith in the writers - and in our boy. I'd like to see how Shawn handles some competition, honestly, because we all know that if he wanted to, he could whip this guy's butt in everything - smarts, skills, etc. I wonder if he will start revealing more of himself to Juliet, and maybe realize that he feels more than just a casual attraction to her. Maybe it will flip and Shawn will start going out with someone (hello, Abigail?), and we will see Juliet get jealous and finally realize how much she cares about him. (See here:
http://james-roday.net/gallery/displayimag...um=38&pos=2 for my feelings on that one).
It will all be OK, people - remember, we're only halfway through the season, and Christmas is coming. Hold your breath and cross your fingers for a mistletoe moment.
All that being said, writers: You. Are. Meanies. Our little fan hearts are sensitive and easily hurt.
Sigh. Oh well. If nothing else, at least Maggie has the right idea in real life (but seriously, how little fun is real life in comparison? C'mon, peeps.)
Here are some (minor) insights into the curious and occassionally disturbing workings that go on inside the minds of our writers:

http://www.buddytv.com/articles/psych/psyc...he-a-21501.aspx http://www.buddytv.com/articles/psych/psyc...abou-21099.aspxOK, that was no where near as heartbreaking as I thought it would be. Loved the old guy jokes, loved Shawn telling Jules he just wanted her to be happy, and I definetly think she was WAY too defensive about the whole thing. I'm not worried; she's crazy about Shawn even if she doesn't want to admit it - I think she just has some misconceptions based on what she thinks she knows about him. Also, at the end, she didn't seem too optimistic about the whole "relationship" thing, and she was more than eager to go out with Shawn.
So yes. I am good, I am happy. AND I am way looking forward to seeing Shawn bust out his mad skillz and totally showing this guy up.

Now for my weekly review lol. Okay, well the Psych withdrawal is already starting. I cannot wait til December for the Christmas episode. Anywho...
This episode was amazing! Good suspense from Psych. I was happy to see that Andy Berman wrote it, I really do like Andy Berman. He's great.
So, Shawn attempting to take off towards the bank right after he found out what was going on. That made my heart break. So did all the times he was standing there and being all jittery and shaky. James' played that so well. He's such an amazing actor.
SWAT man Cameron...lol, that's my name for him. Yeah, didn't like him at all. That's probably due to my Shawn/Juliet love, but either way I wasn't too fond of his character. I wasn't pleased to find out that Jules was involved with him and neither was Shawn. I have to say that I liked the fact that Lassiter knew, because I think it shows the growth in the Lassiter and O'Hara partnership where they are becoming better friends. I must admit, I want Shawn and Jules together, but I'm glad they're holding off obviously, but I didn't expect them to bring in another guy for Jules. I did like the idea of Jules wanting to talk to Shawn about it all but still, poor Shawn. I'm not happy with Jules though lol I would take Shawn over that guy. I wanna hit both of them sometimes because Shawn should have said certain things tonight at the end and Juliet should have as well, but it's the little moments that count. Someday...someday...

like end of the series someday lmao.
I'm happy to see Lassiter smiling more and more as the season goes on.
The convo between Shawn and Jules while the entire department was listening while Shawn questions Cameron's boobies
I liked that there was some good Shawn and Lassiter interaction tonight. I was dying when Shawn went, "YOU ARE SO SEXY RIGHT NOW!" That's one of the greatest lines on this show ever. I thought that was great. Then Shawn and Juliet going back and forth and Lassiter going, "You two know I'm in the car right?"
Yeah, I was happy that Shawn got Lassiter to forget procedure. He needs to live a little.
I wish there would have been a little more Henry tonight but him stopping Shawn and telling him to be careful spoke volumes. I love Henry.
Gus loves Shawn! LOL, the tight hug. Shawn and Gus are the greatest.
The suspense in this episode was great. I really enjoyed it. I'm quite fond of this episode, and I can't wait to watch it again at midnight and buy it and watch it over and over again. All in all I really thought tonight was great, good suspense and funny moments. There were some good serious moments tonight as well. Come on now, let's be fair. I don't think that was such a terrible decision on the part of the writers. It makes sense to me that Jules would go for an older guy. And as far as older guys go, Gary Cole isn't a bad pick at all.

Exactly. There's a difference between older men and men that were in college when you were being born. That's gross. I don't care how you spin it.
Though I LOVED Lassiter's little half-smirk when Shawn asked Jules if she was going to enjoy giving him spongebaths in a few years.
But honestly, people, Shawn needs to stop chasing after Juliet. Anyone agree? I think he's done more than his fair share to try and get her to realize him. I think now the ball's in her court. If she ever wants anything, it needs to come from her.

Agree to disagree. I think Gary Cole was a very good choice for Jules' older interest. Like she said, he's distinguished and sure of himself-two traits I have no problem at all believing Juliet (and, I dare say, most women...) would find very appealing in a man.

In the entire Psych series, this episode is a stepback for many Shules fans who expect an easy Shawn-Jules relationship build-up. This episode, however, may not be necessarily bad. In fact, it is a good thing this happened and come on, this was to be expected and it was not really a surprise.
According to a Maggie Lawson interview, she mentioned that Juliet would dating someone and this season is about exploring how Shawn and Juliet really feel about each other. Juliet's personal life is struggling and she is obviously confused about her feelings.
Juliet dating another guy is very appropriate and realistic. We are used to seeing Shawn as this extremely likeable and funny guy that can basically get a date with any girl EXCEPT for Juliet. I think a humbling experience is necessary for him because he is so used to winning. The writers are trying make Shawn grow and become mature about handling relationships. Shawn hasn't even finished handling the relationship between his mom and dad yet. Shawn really likes Juliet and this competition is necessary for him to grow or otherwise it would be too boring if it was so easy that Shawn would woo juliet just by treating her like a princess. Shawn is simply not YET ready for her even though he has treated her with care and respect. We still have a long way to go in the Psych series and remember that this will be a continual love chase back and forth, and the writers will make it so until the end of the series. Hang in there.

That's it, this episode sucked (and its suckiness had nothing to do with Shawn and Jules). It just nailed the lid in the coffin of an already extremely disappointing half-season. It's not that it was HORRIBLE--it was interesting enough to watch, it held my attention, but it wasn't Psych--all the charm and quirkyness and sweetness has gone. There are plenty of other detective shows (some even with their own fake psychics) I could watch that now feel pretty much interchangeable with this one. I used to smile through every episode and wathcing Psych used to cheer me up even when I felt sad, but now I wash my hands off it. I think I won't bother tuning in come January.

I'm not a fan of Jules/Shawn so I wasn't really annoyed with her relationship with the Swat guy. I though it brought out some good things, actually, like how Jules and Lassi seemed to be closer and there were some great jokes made by Shawn about it. I was cracking up when he was asking her about his "old man boobs"! xD
"You are so sexy right now!" is so my favorite quote. C: Also, it was nice to see Lassi smiling more.

I thought this episode was great! When shawn found out that the bank was being held hostage and the he tried to run in, i couldn't get over it. IT WAS ADORABLE!!! Beside having great shules moments they had GREAT shawn and gus moments. The "tight hug" scene just had me stunned. They are the cutest duo ever!

"grab life by the little lassiters!"

I loved this episode.
I love how they are establishing Henry because he is becoming an amazing character. He's no longer againts Shawn pretending to be psychic and helping out with the cases he just wants him to be careful like any father does and I like how he occasionly gives him tips like he did in this episode, also since Shawn found out that he was the one that stood by him when he was younger, their conversations no longer has Shawn being sarcastic with his jokes, he just jokes around without the sarcastic edge to them.
I love where they're going with the Lassiter dynamic, he's starting to listen to Shawn a little more each episode and trust his instinct after some persuasion. Lassiter even laughed and smiled at the jokes today. The other thing I loved was the scene where Shawn found out about Julliet dating the SWAT guy, Lassiter was laughing his ass off. The final thing I loved was near the end where Shawn said "I know you don't like my methods, I know you don't like me..." Because it's true, Lassiter needs to trust his instinct a lot more and not always the correct protocol.
The Gus and Shawn friendship is always great, it's obvious from all the episodes that they're close to each other even though they joke a lot, it showed how close they are to each other though.
I loved the bit where Lance makes his entrance and Shawn laughed it off and made a commical joke about it, even Buz and Lassiter laughed.
I was amazed by how they played the scene where he found out that Julliet was dating Lance because they showed how hurt Shawn was to the viewers but still used the dynamic that Shawn covers up his hurt with jokes and sarcasm deflects, but for some reason it seemed Julliet could read it and felt bad about it.
It seemed in the van with Lassiter, Shawn and Julliet when she was trying to convince them that he's mature but it seemed the features she described was the opposite that Shawn shows people because he's always acting immature and joking around a lot, I'm not sure if this is true or I'm reading it wrong, but does anybody get the impression Shawn hides his maturity and brains behind his jokes and not just to pretend to be psychic?
At the end I noticed Shawn was back to jokes and sarcasm so is it a defense mechinism so he dosen't get hurt?
And lastly, the scene where he flirts with the brunette I think that was just because he was tired of waiting for Jules to come around.

Kudos to James again I love all the chances they give him to be serious cause he's so amazing. Alan Ruck was awesome too, who doesn't like him? LOL!
This is what I love about you, you really see the whole picture. I like reading your posts because your feelings are similar to mine. Some see an episode and that is all they see. You and I and others too, see it for so much more. I don't know if it has to do with being a fan since the beginning or what but it really seems we see beyond the surface.

Excellent. Very well said; close to my feelings exactly.
