Full Version: Shawn's Talents

I've been re-watching past seasons of Psych and I keep getting reminded of all of Shawn's different talents. For instance, I had completely forgotten that he is an excellent shot, as he put his bullet holes directly overlapping those of Lassie's ex-partner in the pilot episode when they were talking at the shooting gallery. They haven't done anything with that skill since then so I had forgotten about it. He's also a crazy good artist! (Remember the t-rex drawing?!) There's also the counting cards thing he could so wrongfully be using if he wanted to... I just wanted to start this thread to see how many other special skills people can remember Shawn having!

well he's awesome at poker
(poker? i barely know her!)

ummm he is good at singing! in my opinion, james roday has a good voice when he tries!
(american duos, various psych outs)

he is good at lying obviously.....
(the whole show...)

he has an eidetic memory
duh

and hmmm

thats all i can think of without rewatching any episodes.

In One of the season 3 episodes "daredevils" Shawn can read the managers lips

Edit:he can obviously ride a motorcycle smile.gif, and he is really observant
Edit again: silly me spelt SHAWN wrong...well techniquely not wrong but..

Is being sexy a talent? not all guys can pull off pink that frequently, or the hair. haha smile.gif
Mooseinator
Is never growing up a talent? He has pulled that off nicely since being mentioned in the flashback during the pilot

Forgery is another one. He had to forge Gus's sig in order to start his Psych business. Oh, of course there's acting:

James acting as Shawn acting as a psychic acting as a soap opera star, doctor, stuntman, etc...makes my brain hurt!

I think that's a good talent. lol! I mean he looks awesome in every single episode. Also he pulls off purple real well too. I forgot which episode, but he was wearing a purple shirt and it looked so sexy. I love his hair too. sorry i kept on rambling. James Roday is so perfect!!

He apparently speaks German (he talks to the receptionist that he hired from the modeling company)... though how he manages German so well and is abysmal at impromptu Spanish is beyond me...

And, according to Shawn himself, he has a very convincing Portuguese accent (Black and Tan)
Mooseinator
He is also a real good tailer.. following gus all the time and others
IDM
Not to be crude, but he apparently has a talent for getting laid a lot- or at least coming close. Pilot, Psy vs. Psy, almost in Zero to Murder if he hadn't inadvertantly called her easy...not to mention the numerous hook ups that he usually ends up blowing. Speak Now, Weekend Warrior, Red Phantom, Forget Me Not, Shawn & Gus of the Dead, etc. Anyway, am I the only one who thinks so?
tuesday
How about talking down armed suspects? In There Might Be Blood he totally got the crazy girl to put her gun down.

Yeah, we will see it again in Gus Walks into a Bank.

Well, he knows where to dig for something like in the following: Woman Seeking Dead Husband...Smokers Okay...No Pets, 65 Million Years Off, and The Greatest Adventure in the History of Basic Cable. He has the best memorization skills ("Her answers are always C." "I took the test for you." and so on.). He remembers what people say ( a skill he pick up from his mom.). His Native American tracking skills in both Forget Me Not and The Old and the Restless. He can read other people body impressions like in Poker, I Hardly Know Her, Cloudy With a Chance of Murder, Murder? Murder? Anyone? Bueller?. And let us not forget about having fifty seven jobs after high school before becoming a fake psychic detective does come in handy.

oh yea he sure is a great negotiator, when he gets the suspect to confess by turning on the bomb...haha prolly not the best idea

If I were Shawn I would never do that with Juliet there, no matter how sure I were that those were the right suspects tongue.gif

No, you're right. I was actually going to say the same thing, myself, but you beat me to it. That should be a given, though - look at him! How could you not want that?! tongue.gif

This last episode's crabcakes reminded us that Shawn can cook. Of course, anyone that make a good pineapple upside-down cake using an easy-bake oven has to have some skill!
Mooseinator
you forget three different people spit it out (including himself) and the pineapple UPSIDE DOWN CAKE was definately not upsidedown?

...but on the other hand he probably is a good cook

Lol! Oh yeah! Those crabcakes did look pretty good, though. They had strawberries on them and everything. Yum! Besides, his dad is always cooking so I assume he must have picked up something from there.

He's a really good public speaker. He gets up on a stage and talks to big groups of people. Murder?. . . Murder?. . . Anyone?, Black and Tan, Red Phantom (also including the whole MagicHead routine), Cloudy with a Chance of Murder (with additional legal talk), Meat is Murder, The Old and the Restless, and Lights Camera Homicidio, all involve him getting up there and telling everyone what happened.
