First of all, calm down. I did not hear anything about Psych ending or anything along those lines. I just thought it may get your attention cause I think this board could be really fun. I want to ask everybody, how do you think Psych will end? Obviously there's the talk of Shawn and Jules getting together, but what else do you see happening? With Shawn always hanging out in the chief's office, could it be foreshadowing towards Shawn landing a job along those lines? Where would Gus be? Also, I know it seems obvious that Shawn will reveal it- but when/if Shawn breaks the news that he isn't a Psychic and how that will go down? Of course there's Shawn's family and his relationship with Gus that can be though about too. I never want to see Psych leave, and if it did I would really have trouble dealing with it. It's my favorite TV show compared to anything, even movies. I just thought it'd be fun to see what people think on the ending with each individual character. I personally want to see Shawn and Jules get together, maybe show a wedding with Lassie as an usher and Gus as the best man, and then I want to see Gus quit his regular job and maybe partner up as detectives working for the SBPD and become closer with the rest of the cast. So what is everyone else's thoughts, thanks!

*sigh!!* You scared we with the title!
I've wondered alot about how they would end the series. I'm quite sure that they wouldn't end the series with out getting shawn and jules together.
I think that last episode is going to be a very intense one. they should make it like a three hour season finale. I'll think about it but we have like 5 or 6 years to guess

IMHO, Shawn will get caught before he decides to reveal that he is not psychic. He has no real incentive (as of now) to tell anyone. The Chief would likely not take kindly to news of his deception. (Although Lassie would have a field day because he would finally be proven right). Also, there could be legal issues involved. Since he is not really psychic, he is working as an
unlicensed PI. Isn't there a possibility that some of the cases he and Gus have helped solve might be thrown out?

as far as the juliet thing goes, i think they will have a season with heavy flirting having it be a major plot line and then a season shawn's with jules
...but i dont think it will last...but not end badly and they become tight friends, shawn, gus, and jules
the last season might have gus getting married (prolly to a new chick they introduce to the series later), shawn taking and passing the detectives exam and all the needed rigamoral thinking he's finally settling down...corbin will be relived...shawn starts dating some new girl and you think hes going to get married soon, along with the real job
and in the last episode, in the last few minutes, shawn flies off to another country...not taking the job...somehow has tricked gus into tagging along with his wife(maybe gus is in a storage box below the plane with a walkie talky and gus' wife was in on the trick), jules maybe has transferred over seas...maybe allowing shawn to do the psych thing for the police but in another country, but even though shawn hasn't settled down with a real job...hes bringing his new girl and wife to be
so with that we get all of the good friends still together, some humor, shawn keeping some adolescence, and shawn growing up just enough for him to be happy
if thats hard to read don't be a gooey chocolate chip cookie

Personally, I think a Shawn/Jules wedding or relationship is just too cliche for this show. Not to mention, often fulfilling a relationship on screen after lots of flirting and UST is often the beginning of the end (downfall) for so many shows. The dancing around each other and possibility usually is what helps the show keep interesting.
Then again, I freely admit to not being a "Shules" fan.
No matter what 'perfect' ending could happen (though I can't think of one right now), so often these days the show isn't cancelled until after the season finale, leaving no chance for a clean ending (which really is unfortunate). I just hope USA doesn't screw over such a great show in that way down the road. (I hate unfulfilled cliffhangers).

Psych's one of those series that needs a super-happy feel-good ending. I'm gonna make this one easier to read than my other posts by breaking it down by the characters and how I think their fates should be.
Shawn:: He finally gets cornered or something and he reveals that he's not really psychic, and Chief Vick's just like "Yeah, we know." Shawn's then amazed that they actually kept hiring him for cases, even though they knew he was a fake. The reasoning behind this would be that he's a good detective, and the psychic thing was a good enough loophole to let them hire him in the first place. "Also, it was one hell of a show," Vick would chime in.
Gus:: There's always been this vibe in the show that Gus doesn't feel like he's made it as far as he could have. I can recall a few times where he's had some regret for being a pharmaceutical rep. I think some vindication is in order, where he finally rises to a more important position--that, or something really bad happens to him (In a funny way), and he decides he'd rather just quit it all and take life less seriously like Shawn.
Jules:: Instead of dedicating the last episode to her getting together with Shawn, I'm gonna say just wait until the very end, and then have her actually agree to a date, or take the initiative to ask Shawn. They could end it with a scene similar to Derby or Bounty Hunters where you're like "Oh cool, they're finally together," but then leave it at that. I just can't see a story-arc where Shawn and Jules are together working out...they should just leave whatever happens between them up to the imagination.
Lassiter:: I don't really care what happens to him. I don't want to see him getting back with his ex-wife or anything like that. In my frame of events, he should be the only one who didn't know that Shawn was faking it (I mean, he already knows, but not the same way Chief Vick and Jules would know.)
Chief Vick:: I don't see any loose ends that need be tied with her at the moment. Maybe they could finally reveal her husband and it could be something that could be used to surprise the viewer. She could say "Oh, that's my husband" and we finally get a glimpse of him for a short period of time, and it's nothing like anyone would expect. Not so much a resolution, but a nice way to go out.
Henry:: Well, obviously some of the tension between Shawn and Henry should be resolved, but I don't see them doing this in a single episode. Rather, it'll be the kind of thing where it happens over several episodes in future seasons, so that by the final episode they're already there. The writers could do a reflection of how things had changed, so that even though Shawn and Henry already reached this point in their relation, it emphasizes that things have gotten better. It could even be as simple as a few lines, like "You wouldn't have done ______ a few years ago." "Yeah, I know. "Blah blah blah, the writers could handle this better." To get there, Henry's going to have to loosen up a bit, and Shawn's going to have to be a little more serious...but since we all know Shawn's not going to be a little more serious, Henry's going to have to loosen up a lot.
Shawn's Mom:: As much as I disliked the Shawn's Mom story arc (To the point where I can't even remember Shawn's Mom's name, so I'm just going to refer to her as Shawn's Mom), I think they set up the scenario well enough that she potentially COULD show up later. They've dropped plenty of hints that Henry still likes her, but they're not too clear on how she feels about Henry. Maybe she's waiting for him to loosen up a little, or maybe it has something to do with him not being confident in it working. The steak example kinda illustrates this--when he asked her if she wanted to come over for one of his steaks and she said she had a salad, he immediately jumped the gun and was like "Oh, well I guess you probably don't want to come over then, nevermind." I bet it would've gone quite a bit differently if he had asked if she wanted to come over anyway. I really hope the writers bring up another situation like this one, where Henry actually mans up a bit (Maybe after getting advice from Shawn), and things go better. But like Shawn and Jules, I don't want to see the two of them actually getting back together as part of the resolution.
The episode:: A two-hour finale would be more than suitable, with the extra time spent on characters. The mystery...I'm thinking by this point in the show's lifespan it would be really difficult to come up with something that would take people by surprise--and while I love a good plot twist, it would have to be a REALLY good plot twist since it's the finale, and I find myself wondering if they're capable of pulling off something of that magnitude. There are two ways of going here--
1) having a really complicated mystery that twists and bends so much that it makes you go "WHAT THE ____!!" at some point, out of the sheer brilliance of how everything fits together. The requirements for this are pretty strict. It has to make sense. It cannot be predictable, but after you see it once, all of the hints and allusions become obvious, which makes the episode worth watching a second time through. It also has to be well-executed. In other words, unless they can come up with something truly great, they might want to avoid this and try
2) having a villain who is obvious from the very beginning. This could be someone that's so bad that you desperately want to see Shawn bring him down, up until the final confrontation when Shawn manages to outwit him, after seemingly nothing could stop him. It has to be the kind of thing that would make you want to cheer. Instead of being a "Who-dunnit" episode, it's a "how do we catch him," and although I know a lot of people here don't like that format, I think it could be appropriate for the last episode. The purpose of a finale is to tell a story, and I honestly think the episodes where the viewer already knows who-dunnit lend themselves better in that regard. We want this to be an episode that can be rewatched several times, but if most of the episode hinges on the mystery of who-dunnit, it's not so exciting the second time around. Of course, they could also try mixing up a little from both categories.
And there you go--that's 40 minutes of my time spent on something that probably won't have any impact on anything, so feedback would be nice. I suppose it's just that I'm a big fan of speculation.
edit: oh man, that turned into a book.

I'm very simple when it comes to these things, so all that I wish for is to see a spoof of one of my favorite movies, The Draughtsman's Contract, for the final scene of the final episode.
The final scene in the original movie had a half-split pineapple (now you know why this would be appropriate for Psych) lying out in the open, and after all the intrigue the movie's famous for had passed, a servant posing as a statue leaves his station and takes a big bite out of the pineapple. He suddenly spits it out (but you don't know exactly why) - and that's it. It cuts to credits.
Perhaps after all that is done for the series, Shawn notices a glistening chunk of cut pineapple out in the open. He takes a bit out of it, but as soon as he does so, he spits it out, saying that it was too sour or bitter or something like that. Gus berates him in the background for eating things left out in the open. That might be a nice, subtle way to end.

Tixus, that was more of what I was looking for so nicely done. The only thing is that I would want more of a closed ending, with Gus going full time, or Shawn and Gus getting detective jobs at the SBPD due to Henry's connections and the Chief. That way they could be closer and closer. I also want to see more specific closure to Shules. The writers are obviously having a huuge buildup to getting together so I doubt it will be as open-ended as bounty hunters. I really was expecting to get more people on this board so try to talk it up! I know these aren't the only ideas out there
