Someone posted somewhere ( yes, nothing but exact information!) that they would be off the board for a few days because they were going back to work and getting their classroom etc. ready for the new school year........ maybe that was Yvette????

Yvette was last seen pretty embroiled in the "Takes a Punch" thread and was contemplating taking some time off from the board.

A lot of people haven't been on lately. Somebody pointed out that Og hasn't been on lately, or Bubba, or Mi or Mandeville. I mean, maybe they've made some posts, but it's been atleast a few days since. Has anyone else heard anything from them?

I think I'm part of the problem - when TotalRecall was being so nasty to Yvette I butted in and I questioned Yvette's manners for posting the 'blah, blah' - when I shouldn't have. She posted once after that in the Soap Box thread saying she should be allowed to say her mind without being bashed and then left the board. She had also made a post about taking a break around this same time.

Yvette ~ I humbly apologize for questioning your manners when it was TotalRecall who was cussing and swearing at you. Please come back, my manners weren't the best toward you ~ I did tell the A-H*L# he owed us both an apology.

I heard from yvette today. She said it is not your fault kees. She told me she is fed up with the fighting. I told her we miss her, still, I don`t think she will be back.

Oh no!!! Not ever?? I can understand about the fighting, I felt the same way, but I hope that she doesn't give up on us for good!

I don't want her to leave. I understand about her being fed up with the fighting.

I want her to come back too. She really has a way with words. Maybe she will come on the chat Friday.

I can see why she's bothered. Half the newbies around here seem to be Harold Crenshaw knock-offs who think that complaining makes them look smart.

If course, those of us who dont have to complain to try and 'look' smart just see it as it for what it is - miserable people who cant admit thatthere is something seriously wrong with you if you go to FAN sights to talk badly about a show you barely like - you know, just for the attention? Like a child looking to get in trouble so that maybe mommy or daddy will kiss them good night after they've cried themselves out.

And in reality - we should pity them. They are going to be -exactly like this - forever. Because they still insist - we're wrong, the shows wrong and they're right.

Of course the show is what it is - what it was meant to be - and thier opinion doesnt really count at all.

You dont see generation after generation trashing the old I Love Lucy episodes because candy doesnt really come one piece at a time down a conveyer belt, do you? No. Because that would be a stupid thing to say given the rest of the performance.

But since Monk is new and no one has showed them a behavior they can mimick without thinking - they end up acting like jackels at a carcass.

Yvette, you must come back! We need you! You know in any group of people there are always the ones who will step up to the plate and put themselves out there (risking personal negative attacks and a lot of grief being heaped upon them) and say the things that need to be said on behalf of all the people who are thinking those exact things but won't risk saying them, whether it's in a staff meeting at work or on a message board etc.!! I have always so admired those people willing to do that. You are one of those kind of people along with several others on this board. We all miss and need you!!

That is really sad! I understood she got enough of this one person, but it has gone.
If there are some querrelsome persons, we should not give up and leave. I can´t think it is the solution. Then who will stay if the good ones leave? I have just thought about that. There still is most of threads like before. This board has used to be a good place, anyhow, although it has already changed, because so many regulars have left or became less active, because of these negative posts, or because of logging in -troubles.
I have been tired of reading in the episode discussions page after page just some people complaining about some "errors" in the episodes or how badly they have done. Or to hear, that if you are not picking and pointing every details, how they are in the wrong place or have no place at all, you are then a lazy and uncritical person. So let it be. I have tried to just ignore these. And what to think these strangers, who post a couple of times just to make some negative or nasty comments. Why they bother? Happily the last episode´s discussion hasn´t been like that. Maybe it is turning better...
I am hoping that things will be better. But sad if Yvette has decided really to leave us.
We should not let nobody to ´drive´ anybody regular away. I hope she will still change her mind, if not now, then later. This person, who has caused this, is not that worthy.
Don´t let you down.
