Hey everyone just thought I'd pop in and let y'all know about my new web site for Burn Notice. It's a great show and a brand new site so come on over and check it out!

A new Burn Notice Web Site

Edited to add: Registration is now required to view the board. But registration is free!

(Sorry for the inconvience but someone was posting inappropriate pictures and links so I had to lock the board to all but memebers)

It's a full invision site with forums for all the actors, including places to post photographs, video's and fanfiction's. There's a chat room, and a place to post all the news articles and media about the show too.

Registration is free and its just plain fun so come on over and join us!

p.s. -- you don't have to register to view the board so you can check it out even if you don't want to register.

Edited to add: Oh... and we're working on an adult section to for those of you who enjoy the more... racy stories and such.

Hope you enjoy the site Mac. We're just getting started but anyone is welcome to check it out.

We've added several forums and uploaded some pictures. (Who knew good quality pictures of the four main actors were so difficult to find?).

Anyone who wants to help, or just come on in and look is certainly welcome!

cute. It's basically looks like the same as this board but with more message threads on it.

I guess this board is not good enough for you.

Hey I'm thinking the more the merrier! The more boards/sites there are out there about the show the more interest gets drummed up and the more viewers it has which leads to the show being a bigger success than it already is, but that's just me! wink.gif

Man, this site is awsome!

Hi y'all. I just wanted to let y'all know I had to make a small change to my Burn Notice web site because lately we've been getting hit with spam posters that are posting some very explicit pictures and links on the board.

I have been deleting the pictures and banning the poster but they just change IP address and email address and register again so they can post their trash.

In order to curb this (I know it won't stop it completely) I have made it so you must log in to view the board. I appologise for any inconvience this might cause and hope that y'all will still take the time to enjoy it.

I plan to keep it this way for a few months then change it back to not require log in to view it. Hopefully by then the person (s) doing this will go elsewhere for their kicks and giggles.

It's not that at all. I just enjoy this show so much I thought a web site for it would be a great way to show my support for the show, the actors and the fans! cool.gif

I had trouble with spammers on my invisionfree board too. Make sure you set the registration up to approve new members. You can tell which ones are spammers by their email addresses or check their IP address if you aren't sure. Deny approval for them, don't even bother to ban their ip or email addresses, it's a waste of time. Eventually, they will go away. It took about 4 months for mine to go away completely, but they are gone now and I have changed the registration back to email verification only.

You can also set the forum permissions to allow guests to read only and only allow registered members to start or reply to the posts!

Thanks Jolly!

I've already got the permission masks set that way and I was trying to avoid having to make everyone register to view the site. I know not everyone wants to register and I don't think they should have to if all they want to do is read what's there. Unfortunately having an open board means it's not safe from spam postings.

I'll see how this works and if it doesn't then I'll try your suggestion of requiring approval of new members. Thing is that since just my sister and I run it and we both work it would mean that some new members might have to wait several hours for their registration to be approved and I don't want that unless I have no choice.

Thanks for your help and suggestions!

biggrin.gif Hi! I already registered with the board. I love it(Especially the J.D. pic. thread!) I think making everyone register is the only way to keep it safe.
I have noticed that even this board sometimes gets spam too. Have you seen the threads for DRUGS from PHARMACIES from different countries on this board? I think they are from a pharmacy in CANADA!
I think that is what happens when it is a public board.I reported ALL of those threads and most of them are gone, but i've noticed they are starting to pop up again.
I just hope they don't try to "hide" in a legit. thread(like the J.D. pic, thread) because they could have viruses on them and then we could unknowingly open up a virus on our computers. That would be bad. Anyhow i still like the board!
