Now I REALLY want to learn the harpsichord!

A very powerful traditional Balinese gamelan piece called "Baris" - there's a dance included:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Femtda59xzkI also dance this, although I'm not as good as Pak Anom in the video - he's considered one of the very BEST.
Learning this dance was one of my most physically painful learning experiences - basically, you have to keep your shoulders shrugged tightly and keep your arms up (elbows to the level of your eyes) for 10-15 min at a time. Also, you get to workout your eyes (!)

Three songs from one of my favorite groups - Pizzicato Five (sadly, they disbanded in 2001).
"Triste" (Kanashii Uta) - this means "A Sad Song", but this is anything but...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0W_WgQl_8c"La Regle du Jeu" (The Rules of the Game) - with dancing chefs, sailors, and people in tuxedos - don't ask me why...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tph7GKu89-gAnd "Playboy Playgirl"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVI7YfoPc1sI dare anyone to listen and try not to dance to these (and it doesn't matter if you "can't dance"; the guy in the last video certainly couldn't). You'll be at least nodding your heads to the music...

And here's a cover of "Triste" by Japanese soul singer Akiko Wada (yes, the singer's female...)
It certainly wouldn't have been out of place in the "Disco didn't die" episode - I think it would've been cool...

Don't know if this is a bad sign for the paper I'm about to work on, but I woke up this morning with "Man of Constant Sorrow" stuck in my head. It's by "The Soggy Bottom Boys," who are, in reality, members of the bluegrass group Union Station. Of course, it was made famous by George Clooney in "O Brother, Where Art Thou?". Geez....apparently, I'm also feeling verbose this morning. Anyway...that's what's going through my head.

Space Age Love Song- A Flock of Seagulls
I just saw the roller derby episode and this is the song that was playing when Shawn and Jules were couple skating. I smiled and a tear came to my eye. The innocence of the two of them was beautiful. I hope this series goes on for a long time.
