Who is the woman in the jewelry heist team? I've seen her before, but can't remember.
LuLuNY
It was robin givens. They scrapped the bottom of the barrel for that one.
Bolt
It looked like her, but I never thought they would cast her. She's so....80's.
John015
Its been a long time since I've seen her.Too bad they didn't give her many lines.
FloridaRealtor
She was effective.

I had read that she would be guest starring for an episode this season. I didn't think that it would be such a small role and I was suprised at how different she looked. I have not seen her in anything in a very long time.

I thought she did a great job. VERY menacing, very un-Robin Givens-like (as she was in the 80's). If she's trying to restart her career, she definitely went against type.

Givens had a recurring role on House of Payne (TBS) until about a week ago. She played the love interest of CJ. The relationship ended when she found out that he got his ex-wife pregnant. She played the role well, and it went over 2 months of episodes I believe. I think that you can see then episodes at the TBS website under "House of Payne."

I didn't know that show was still on TV. I saw one episode and it reminded me of those 1970's sitcoms: Sanford and Sons, Good Times, etc. Too slapstick for me. Also, I know Tyler Perry is famous for doing work on small budgets. What did TBS give him to make this show? Two bucks? The quality was extremely poor. Very disappointing.

You seem to have a proclivity for negative comments for some types. You don't like Givens, and you don't like Perry. Is there a pattern here?

She did not look ugly to me at all; of course, everyone has their own taste in ladies, but Robin looked just fine to me. She certainly has more meat on her bones than Fi, and I haven't heard anything BUT love thrown her way.

If Mike Tyson could get over his Robin-flavored Hateraid, so can you.

RG has three upcoming movies, I noticed on IMDB...so it looks like her career is taking off again.

Haha. .. vestokes you always crack me up. Your comment made me laugh so hard because I remember reading about how much TylerPerry is actually getting -it is Huge!! and my sister said what? I thought they paid like $1000. Haha... you sounded exactly like her. She made fun of me for liking it. But I liked Sanford and son & good times... and according to Variety that's what he based it on... http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117949052.html?categoryid=14&cs=1
Anywho. ... love your posts kid!!!! and hope they bring on some more un-expected guest stars!! or bring Robin Givens back as Sam said her and Fi could fight it out!! BN rules !!! Peace.

Who is Perry? BTW, I didn't say I didn't like Robin Givens. I just said she looked ugly. She did. She was not going for the glamourous.

Yeah. I just found out from my 6 year old niece that it's still on. She asked me if I had "On Demand" so she could watch it. Her Mom watches it too. Shocking. I had another nephew that loved Good Times. He tivoed it. He was way to young to have seen it when it was on originally so that's interesting that someone so young could like that kind of humor.

Oh, I get what the poster, elderdxc, meant by Perry. Yes. I don't like most of Tyler Perry's stuff. I find it to be too simplistic and silly at times. I DID like the movie, "Diary of a Mad Black Woman". It was much better than those teleplays on a shoestring that he writes/produces. It shows that he had a decent budget. With that said, "House of Payne" from it's commercials turned me off completely. I truly hoped TV has moved beyond that kind of slap stick humor.

Yeah I thought Robin was good in that role. But that doesn't change my opinion of her appearance. We all know she can glam it up when she wants to. In this case she didn't.  So in the words of Shug, from the Color Purple, she "sure looked ugly".  biggrin.gif

Oh. I just noticed the comment about a pattern. Is the pattern that they are black? Or could it be that I'm black? One doesn't know, do they? And it doesn't even matter. It's just my opinion.

I watched the epi again and it's obvious she was going for the down and out MEAN look. She did it quite well which is surprising. I'd like to see her in more non-traditional roles to stretch her acting range.

yes she was. I loved her in Head of the Class, & Boomerang; more recently on One on One, and it looks like here career is going strong- 3 movies in the works. Maybe they'll bring her character back as more trouble for Michael, might be interesting.
It's almost Thursday! Peace. biggrin.gif
