Please could anyone help me on inserting my own avator from my photobucket have tried many ways on the avator control panel but no success so any suggestions thanks

What are you having problems with? I have changed mine before and it has taken a few days to show up...I don't know why.

When i put a new avator on my page it said that this was my current avator and pressed update avator it changed the current one on the page when i closed it down the original avator was didnt change in the panel although it did say on the main page that the current avator was the new one and each time i went in to put a post it hadnt actually changed the avator

In your first post you say you're trying adding trying to add the avatar from photobucket. Is that correct? I thought the only options were to add an avatar image from your computer or use one of USA's preloaded images. (I only used photobucket to get images in my signature).
You might also have to clear your temporary internet files (if your browser isn't set up to do it automatically when you close it) and relaunch your browser before you'll see the new image.

You will upload the avatar from your files, not from the photobucket. If you can't still see your avatar after you uploaded it, click refresh button once or twice. I did see your avatar earlier, but now, it's gone.

My new one took a day or so to load...I actually loaded 2 different ones becuase it hadn't changed...so I gave up. The next day I came on and its a new one, so maybe it is just taking some time to change over.

Hi just to say thanks everyone on helping me with my avator now i have done what you have said i have uploaded and browsed a pic from my files and updated it it is now on my profile witch has you can see my original one is still there so does anyone know how long it does take to change on my avator space

I'm confused. I switched my Tinkerbell for a picture of parsnips, and got a distorted picture of Tinkerbell. Today, on another computer, my parsnips had finally shown up. But when I came back here I still get the distorted Tinkerbell. Restarted. Same thing.

What do you see?

I see your distorted tinkerbell image... I wish I had a suggestion for you about how to fix it. I logged out, logged back in and even deleted my temporary internet files and I still only see distorted tink.

At this moment i am seeing your parsnips this seems very similar to what was happening to me with my avator of when i chanaged mine it went back to the original one and distorted it until someone said of when you do change it and its on your profile to leave it there while it is still loading up and then it will change but it can take a day or two

Ok gang. When your avi doesn't seem to change after loading a new one, you need to either clear your cache in your browser or you can right click the image on your post and select view image. If it not the new image click the refresh button in your browser. You may have to do this more than once. It should change on the first couple of refreshes. If not, then you should try reuploading the image.

Why you clear the cache: Your browser keeps big chunks of information about web pages you visit in it's memory so that they will load faster when you come back to them. Images are big chunks of information. If someone, including yourself, changes an image in the database without clearing the old info, it will attempt to display what it has in memory rather than pulling it all new from the server. This is why you'll frequently get distorted images of old avatars after they've been changed since it doesn't save a perfect copy of the picture but rather a framework or sketch.

Why changing your sig doesn't have this problem: Because sig images are hosted on another site, they are loaded everytime they are viewed. The browser sees them as code and links rather than straight images.
