I'm surprised no one is jumping up and down screaming about the fact that the fake person angle HAS BEEN DONE BEFORE. Anyone remember "Faith"? Of course, I don't expect it to play out the same, but still. . .
It would be nice to have them aknowledge the fact, at least. Maybe even
hang a lampshade on it.
Goren: Eames, hasn't this whole "made up personality" thing come our way before?
Eames: Yeah, I notice we seem to be getting repeat crimes a lot lately.
But, L&O et al is practically famous for not breaking the fourth wall.

We'll see. Erica was also "faked" but in a very different way as far as I can tell and who knows about the reasons why. Erica was a con for money, and the editor killed to preserve her own pathological belief in her. This one appears to be a internet contruction and who knows for what reason or the motive behind the killing.
It's like saying the aria of "Please Note" is just like the aria of "Siren Call". Sure, both of them have Bobby in a room with a gun pointed at him, but the characters, the stories that got them there, the resolutions are all different.

Oh I didnt say they were alike per-se...just responding to the notion that they had a similar casre before. Erica was not real, she was a lady who "voiced" as a sick child for money(since no one actually met her and all corospondence was email or telephone). The guy was killed because he found out she wasn't real and was arguing over it with the editor of Erica's book .
I do not know the story behind this new "fake" person...and with new technology, who knows what can be made up these days?

Well, actually I think this might be "inspired" by that case where the mother created the fake myspace account as a young man and traumatized a neighborhood girl until she committed suicide. The mother said she created the fake account to find out what the other girl was saying about her daughter. She and the girl were involved in an internet relationship, and when she found out what she wanted to know, she broke off the relationship and told the girl she should "kill herself".
Since this is set in a prep school, maybe a parent is trying to knock off the competition?
Of course that'd be stealing from Kissinger...

Despite the fact that so many of us (including myself) have complained "Enough is enough!" with the angst and went on and on about how wonderful Vanishing Act was because it wasn't angsty, the MINUTE we get a tidbit about the next angsty episode we are ALL OVER it! I have to admit that I am one of the crowd. But before I move to the edge of my seat, I want to see this one. For some reason, the preview just isn't telling me much. They did break down the fourth wall this season - Logan - "What is there to do at ten o'clock on a Sunday night in Albequerque", Ross - "Let it be Logan."
One thing that I learned from my friends in law enforcement is that criminals are very rarely that original. In the space of several years you would think that you would find several parellel crimes. Sometimes even the most original crime has been done before.

I think he is dressing to try to appear thinner. Vertical stripes, dark colors, layers, the beard...Also, sometimes guys wear layers to disguise their "man boobs" which they are self conscious about. I don't mind that he has expanded, but I am worried about him because he looks puffy in his eyes and just so tired. Maybe the baby is keeping him up. Either way, he's still adorable.

A fake personality over the internet? Sounds like the epi of the Mothership that re-ran last night. I hadn't seen it before last night. The mom kills "Krissie" but keeps her "MyFriends" space going and updated, and falls in love with "Bobby"/SimperFiForever and gets him to kill another guy who figured out that she was a fake and Krissie wasn't real........
This one sounds similar to that. But, as has been said, there are really no original crimes anymore, merely variations on a theme......
Still, will be interesting to see the "CI" writers' take on it.
I'm ready for Robert to come back, too. Maybe not all the time, but seeing him some of the time would be nice.

I'm intrigued about this episode and I'm really getting used to seeing Goren with that beard, he looks a litte younger and a little bit wiser to me. Seeing this story, I heard of something like this in real life, so I think this story is ripped from the headlines but I can't figure from where. Nevertheless, this episode should be awesome.
