Thanks, TennesseeCIFan! I can't log in using my original account. Asked for new password numerous times and USA states one has been sent, but I've not received it through sbcglobal.net. I'd like to either have my old account back as JennaV or have the new one merged and get my post count back, plus pm's, hopefully.

Parcher here - no issues to report.

NatashaFatale here - Among the many things I've tried: I updated my nbc.com account with my username & password here (even though my nbc acct had the same hotmail email & password that i originally used to login here, yet this site wouldn't let me login, saying "email address not found") , so I went back to nbc & had to ask for numerous new passwords. So my nbc account is all up & fine, but I still can't login on this site on the login page with my orig/nbc email & password.
Update 7/28/08: Well at least now I can use all browsers (Safari, Mozilla, IE, etc) whereas before I could only get on with Safari. so.... progress?
But I can still only login into my orig Proflie if I do all these steps: Go to Register, then register my orig hotmail email (same as my nbc addy), and when it tells me I'm already registered with that address & continue? I say yes, and do the next steps, but then I get a communications error, and I have to go back to the main USA site, and then when I click back on the Forum - I'm logged in strangely. I have to do this every time. I don't know if it's the nbc thing or re-registering every time that gets me back in finally to my orig profile.
In addition, I don't show up on the "users browsing this forum" or "active users" section, even though I can post & I am logged in.
I'd love to login as normal, instead of having to do all these steps every time.
PS-For everyone: Here's a list of
tips to try for login help since the upgrade.

my email address ends with bellsouth.net and for some reason since the upgrade I can't get email from USA so that means I can't get the new password that is needed to sign on. I am logging in with the right password but it's not recognized, when I ask for a new one, it says it sent it, but It isn't being recieved. So I had to create a new name through Yahoo.com. But I want my old name back.

I have the same issue as Jryan. My email address ends in sbcglobal.net. I asked for a forgotten password several times and never received it. I ended up signing up for a free email address thru yahoo to get back in. I want my old name back. My old name is in my signature. I want my PM's back and posts back. I have several saved PM's and a few new ones that I haven't read. I think the problem lies with AT&T/SBC internet providers/email addresses but that's just an opinion. I used the correct password and email address as it is the only one I have. I tried everything that everyone suggested but nothing worked. I even had friends email Admin for help but got no response. I even PM'd NBC admin for help as they were stating my email address was attached to a user name I used eons ago but got no help from them either.

I'm thinking so, too, cixffan. Tried to email AT&T about it today, but kept getting a cannot-connect-to-site message. I'm SBCglobal, too, and haven't received pm notifications for several weeks, and of course, no password change emails.

I had problems too. My original name is just Mayuko. I tried doing the Forgot Password thing but it says my email doesn't exist, and I'm sure that is the right one. I even tried to register with that email and it says I'm already a member. My email account is gmail so I don't have the AT&T problem, though I did run into the problem when I tried to register with my sbcglobal.net address. I can't log in or register with the email that I used for the NBC forums either. That email is a hotmail address, different from the one I used for USA. I get the same "communications error" message as NatashaFatale.
I can still edit my posts and I do show up on "active users" section. Still, I'd like my old account back. I want my post count and old "date joined" date back. Plus, I had to create a new email address just to log in here and I'd like to be able to use my real one.

Somewhere on the SVU board, the OT thread I think, has directions on how to fix your problem. Good luck.
TexasScaper
Jul 25 2008, 12:14 PM
OK I'm really supposed to be 707 but:
I couldn't login the way they said I should with email address and password. When clicked on the forgot my password link I received an error message of email address not on file (the same address they had sent the upgrade notification to).
Well then I tried to just register as though I was a new user and it stated that email address was registered on the SciFi boards. So what happened then is that it put my SciFi handle on my USA login.
So now on the USA boards it displays my SciFi handle of TexasScaper, instead of the USA handle of 707, eventhough it does have my post history of what I've done on the USA boards. This all happened even though I did not click on save when doing the registration thing.
I wish it would have at least let me select which of the handles I wanted to use. Is there anyway to fix this so that it displays my original USA handle on these boards?

I had to request a new password be emailed to me to get back in. I got a numerical PW which worked. I changed it and the system lets me in but will not remember me so I have to put in both my email address and PW every time I want to log in.
My problem is minor compared to my friend DanJ who is a huge BN fan. He has tried everything and still can't get in.
Fans are getting fed up.

I had to resort to getting a Yahoo email account and registering under this new handle just to get back in here. What I would really like is to use my original account (DanJ) and delete this one. To do that, it seems that I have to reset the email address on the original account, since this board apparently doesn't talk to bellsouth.net
System Administrator, PLEASE help me!

I can't log in - I'm only logged in now because this computer automatically logs me in. I don't know what e-mail address this site has for my account and I tried to get the information sent to my e-mail address (
Corneliuser@yahoo.com) but it was no go. I have received nothing yet and it has been 2 days.
So . . . what should I do to keep this account active? Help please thx.

Just adding Jolly to the list....I tried everything everyone has posted. I couldn't get to the forgotten password link until after I tried to make a post without being logged in. I had to use my user name instead of email address to get a password sent to me, but the passwords I received did not work..I tried it twice. Sigh....I hate glitches.

My name is Munchkin25 and I am a member here. However, my problem is, I cannot login. I have tried for two weeks straight, using the method the e-mail that was sent to me @ Munchkin2589@yahoo.com. When I went to use the Forgot Password, it did not recognize my e-mail. And I have replied to the message that was sent to my yahoo e-mail, but no one has got back with me and it's been two weeks.
Ummm, some help would be greatly appreciate and I'm sorry to have register again, but I couldn't find another way of contacting someone to address this problem to. I would really like to keep my account active.

NLfann

I recently got caught in this mess when I was logged out unexpectedly and now I can't get back in using my old e-mail address and password. I would like to have my old "NLfan" account back. Here are the facts of my situation:
- Sometime in Feb. or March 2008 I tried to join the NBC Message Board with no success. My request was accepted but I never did get a message back from NBC with a link to validate my account. I am certain I would have used the same e-mail address and password as when I joined USA
- Shortly before the "upgrade" I received an e-mail message from USA Admin at my correct e-mail address with info about the upgrade so I know they have the correct one
- When I got logged out and tried to log back in I received an error message stating "Your e-mail, password combination is incorrect".
- When I put in a request to change my password I always get an error message stating "Your e-mail address was not found".
- Many times I have tried to register again using my old e-mail address. I keep getting an error message stating "You appear to have already registered an account with this e-mail address. If you would like to continue we will merge your existing information with this new registration. When I click "Yes, continue to register this account" I get another message stating that "This e-mail address is already registered. If you forgot your password, click here". When I click on that link I am flicked to MyNBC. That site asks for my e-mail address which I input and then I am told to check my e-mail to change my password. Only problem is I never do get any message back from MyNBC.
- I have since registered a new account using a different e-mail address and a modified username. My new username is "NLfann" as opposed to "NLfan". However, I want my old account back.
Admin, please rectify this mess.

I don't know if this is related to problems or not, but I cannot edit my profile. It takes me to a page where I have to confirm my email address and password, but I can't do anything beyond that. If anyone knows how I can edit my profile or if this is a problem with the whole site, it would be appreciated. =)
However, I don't know anything about the logging in thing, because I haven't logged out yet. Heh.
