Ratings down a little from S2 premiere, but that's kind of typical of most shows, isn't it? Hope the overall rating for BN moves back up.
Catsandcrafts
Well, now that Nickelodeon's Avatar series is done (the final episodes re: Sozen's comet ROCKED, and a fine way to end the series, I thought), maybe that will help. tongue.gif wink.gif

Glad to see you back Bubba!! And with your sense of humor intact (loved the quote in your signature). Thanks again for ratings -- I always want to know

Thanks for cap of the season 2 ratings. Still doesn't detract from watching the show. Just depends on demographics and age ranges which should pick up.

Yup, I think that's how most shows go, too. Lucikly, episode 2.2. still topped the ratings from all season 1 epis, including the finale. So Burn Notice, as always, still rocks!

Just for comparison to S1:
6/28, Pilot, 3.99 mil
7/5, Identity, 3.94 mil
7/12, Fight or Flight, 3.24 mil
7/19 Old Friends, 3.33 mil
7/26, Family Business, 3.51
8/2, Unpaid Debts, 4.406 mil
8/9, Broken Rules, 4.1 mil
8/16, Wanted Man, 4.23 mil
8/23, Hard Bargain, 4.1 mil
9/13, False Flag, 4.02 mil
9/20, Drop Dead/Loose Ends, 4.78 mil
S2
7/10/08 Breaking & Entering, 5.4
7/17 Turn & Burn, 4.87

ps-glad to see you back Bubba, too!

I don't have cable, but watch it online (Hulu.com), is this taken into account in the ratings?

Thanks, Bubba! and hope you are recuperating nicely. Hello from sunny Florida (yep, it's raining).

I worry a little when professional wrestling and a show about a man with a mental illness rank higher than BN, blink.gif but I am not surprised. Tony Shalhoub is a great actor but the show makes my skin crawl. Also stumped about the popularity of Miley Cyrus. I used to play Alvin & the Chipmunks doing "Achy Breaky Heart" at 5:30 a.m. on the AM country station where I worked to punish listeners when I was in a bad mood. tongue.gif

Omigod! One of the local DJs used to play "Achy Breaky Heart" by the Chipmunks every day! Too funny.

hey I like Monk as well. Used to love the show WINGS back in the 80's. And I even liked Billy Ray Cyrus back in the early 90's too. I can do without all the Hanna Montana fanfare but it's for the preteen set like Burn Notice is for those 30+.

BN in the top 10 along with my other favorites The Closer & Saving Grace. Great! I love the summer programs much better then anything that's on in the fall (I'll take any Law & Order any season - aong with BN, of course)! Thanks for keeping us up the the ratings!

Great news about BN being in the top tier of cable show ratings this past week! Thanks for posting this info, Bubba, it's appreciated muchly! smile.gif

Hey Bubba - I know you said you'd be busy these weeks of August - but it's more fun with you here! come back soon! smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

Anyway, here's the updated ratings for the last couple August episodes:

BN Season 2 Ratings
7/10/08 Breaking & Entering, 5.385 mil
7/17 Turn & Burn, 4.87 mil
7/24 Trust Me, 4.76 mil
7/31 Comrades, 4.863 mil
8/7 Scatter Point, 4.558 mil
8/14 Bad Blood, 3.881 mil
8/21 Rough Seas, 3.864 mil

Sources: Zap2It tv ratings & Nielsen cable ratings

The massive Olympic ratings during the 8/14 & 8/21 nights effected us, methinks. Interesting that USA chose to keep airing during the Olympics, but not during the upcoming US Open tennis.

I think you are quite right about the Olympics impacting the ratings. Still - those look like pretty good numbers!

That IS an interesting distinction, but I believe USA is pretty exclusive for being the only network to carry full coverage of the US Open, where the Olympics was on several networks (all NBC related). Also it would have been he!! waiting nearly 4-5 weeks for BN to return (ACK!!).

If I was in my teens, I would still love burn notice. Just turned 50 this month, but still love the TV shows of the 60's, which still has the best cartoons of all time, such as Johnny Quest, Herculoids, Thunderbirds, etc. etc. etc. They inspired back then, as opposed to the mind-numbing cartoons, and shows on TV and in film today. Sad.

I am so glad that Burn Notice is as it is--clever and resourceful in its story unfolding elements.

If some stupid TV exec. ever cancels the show, we can tell Variety Magazine to run an article: Burn Notice fans put a burn notice on (name here)....

Just a thought.........Technical

I'm glad it is on cable b/c it would not stand a chance on network tv. I just pray it does not get canceled for a few years.

Congrats Technical, I too became a quinquagenarian this year, so [*clink glasses*] and lets have a salute to turning 50!! (I hear it's the new 40 laugh.gif )

Anyway, I couldn't agree more... Herculoids and Johnny Quest are two of my ALL TIME favorite cartoon hero shows and that was back when they were a ton of fun to watch. Johnny Quest was even on Prime Time, when it first debuted (for those who are too young to remember), a pretty good feat for a Cartoon back in the 60's.

It was a fun time to be a kid, there was a bunch of great entertainment back yonder.

Cheers,
-Mac

Yes. I loved that show. Jonny, Hadji and Bandit. I liked their adventures. My 4 year old nephew loves it too. I'm not quite old enough to have seen the debut but I watched it when I was a kid and a whole new generation is enjoying it.
