This came on LATE?!?!?!?!?!? You mean it wasn't up the very second last week's was OVER!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Just kidding, Bubba, you're great putting all these up laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Little skiddish about pulling up links at the office (I'm on this site more than I should be to begin with!), but I'm sure it will be great, though, with the "gossip" about Brodrick that I heard this am (and I really do hope it is ONLY gossip!!!), the (mild as it is) association may have had better timing dry.gif ....

NTL, hoping for one fantastic epi....does this group do a Chat room during, or is that just BN and Monk?

Yes! I don't get that at all. I was thinking maybe it's their tenth but Gus had been working on it before they graduated or something.

nooo...that can't be it because in the begining the pineapple in the punch said 1995...

and there was another pineapple in the background on the tabel when maddie & henry were at the reunion and henry said something like "i haven't roamed around these halls in forever"
DeepPoet117
That is the second time in a row that Psych has made me jump. I'd better not get freaked out next week. I don't like scary things.

Has there been a flashback yet? They always have a flashback. Maybe this whole episode is considered a flashback?

but let me just say that shawn was adorable this episode! i mean really, the speech about gus, and the whole 'i choked' thing...

Or maybe it was supposed to be a 10 year reunion and he was 3 years late. Anyway OMG, what a fantastic episode, loved it!!! POOEY to anyone who bashed the season opener, they are great. The end was great cause Shawn is totally crushing on Juliet. Psych rocks, James is such an amazing actor, as they all are. THe psych out had me laughing too, our peenies were like mushroom caps. God I love, love love this show!!! The breakfast club stuff was great too.

Great episode, great closure with Shawn's personal HS life, and especially the Gus speech (it would've been amazing if they included the psych-out in the speech: amazing). I also liked how they pushed Shawn and Jules closer with the end scene. Great plot and good suspense and everything. A great bounce back from last week for sure. Only thing is, can they go back to showing the Psych office agian? That place is classic and shows many good scenes.
psychfan93
yea, that was a great eppy. i lovedlovedloved the end, especially! i can't wait for future episodes! this one was one of my favs fo sho! smile.gif

Does anyone know the name of that song that was playing at the end when Shawn was on the dance floor with that girl...I think it goes something like "time goes on, you know I'll never do you wrong" I googled it, but I can't find it....I remember it from when I was in high school and love it. Thanks
xxSHAWNandGUSxx
the only thing is that there was NO flahback!!! i was a bit remiss but...?...idk

AMAZING! Tonight was awesome dude. Great episode. Kudos with all the 80s movie references, dude those had me cracking up. This was really really a good episode though. I really enjoyed it all.

Highlights...besides everything...

James perfoming the Breakfast Club dance on the roof.

Shawn giving the speech at the end about Gus.

Shawn and Gus doubling back with the mascot while there was a dead body inside. Great Ferris Bueller homage.

Shawn being so sincere with Abby, but then looking over at Jules when he was mentioning being perfect.

So many...

The song is by the the group Longpigs on their album The Sun Is Often Out. It is called "On and On". I went to iTunes and the clip they have of it there, it sounds like a different arrangement. I'm tempted to buy it and see if it picks up later in the song and that's what was on the show.

But I'd rather find out first, from somewhere more official (like the website, if they list songs used in the episode, which I didn't see) if it is off that 1996 album or if they re-arranged the song just for the show.

At the end Abigale says "Our second date will be at our 20th reunion"...Shawn says "well 23 if we are on Gus's schedule"

What I find weird all the movies ...Breakfest Club, Pretty in Pink etc... are from 1985 not 1995.

Awesome episode. Probably my favorite one yet. smile.gif

Also, the actress that played Abigail was quite lovely. wink.gif

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tonights episode was one of the best episodes of the entire series!!!!!!!!!!! I loved the fact that everyone was working together as a team! Shawn was amazing in this episode! Shawn's dance on the roof was priceless, his speech about Gus was the cutes thing ever rolleyes.gif , him saying he was nervous to go up to Abagail was adorable, and when he looked at Juliet while he was with Abagail was the highlight of the scene biggrin.gif . This episode is the reason I watch the show. If every episode is like this then this is my favorite season. The minute it was over I wanted to scream! There is so much more but I should stop! I can't wait till next week's episode. One week feels like three now.
AngelsTales
This episode was the best. I didn't even realize that Shawn kept making 80's references at his high school reunion from the year '95. This just shows how obsessed he is with the 80's movies. This episode was fantastic and funny and just perfect. I loved all the jokes and everything. Henry is just too cute! He always stutters when he talks to his ex. Its just so sad sometimes. I know this is only the second episode, but it very well may be the best episode ever written.
denrex
The actress' name is Rachel Leigh Cook. She was great in this episode, i hope they bring her back.

Ok, originally, I was Babyspice, but because of this entire new log in thing, I'm babyspice2 now.

The episode last night was FABULOUS!!!!!!!! One of the best (or the best) yet!!!!!!!! I loved it when Shawn danced on the roof, that made me laugh sooo hard, and when he and Gus carried the mascot down the hall was just perfect. But the best scene for me was when Shawn was talking to Abigail and looked at Jules and said she was "pretty much perfect"! THat absolutely made my day!!

Fantastic episode all around!!
Bigkitty75
How about Judd Nelson's picture from the "Breakfast Club" as Shawn's graduation picture? laugh.gif Or how excited Lassie was when he arrested his date! laugh.gif Lassie even covered for Juliet when she was really looking for information on Peter for Shawn and Gus. biggrin.gif That was cute, but not as cute as Shawn's speach about his best friend since age five, Gus, and both Henry and Madeline being so proud. "We must have done something right," Madeline said. "That was you," Henry declared. How awesome is that! All the John Hughes references were awesome! And the mystery itself was great! And of course, "No body; no crime." laugh.gif All in all, much better episode than last week. Of course, I can't wait for next week where they both scream when they see fire!
MarthanotGeorge
TV Guide was indeed correct about this being an episode not to miss!

I don't think I could express any better than the previous posts how enjoyable this one was. It's amazing to me how completely compelling this show is becoming.

It was so good that I dreamed a new episode last night. Not nearly as clever, of course, but Gus and Shawn buy a house, there is murder at a gym and because it's a dream...a bizarre radio commercial with a Barry White-ish announcer selling adult diapers! Apparently to the legions of retirees in the San Barbara area who may or may not have issues with incontinence but still want to make sweet, sweet love. blink.gif
xxSHAWNandGUSxx
i know ive already said how much i loved this episode but eh who cares...this was amazing!!! idk why but i felt like it was a season finale...idk it was like they really pulled out all the stops...on the second episode!!! just another reason psych is such a rare breed of tv...the balance between serious and funny and scary was awesome i went from laughing hysterically to screaming to almost crying all within 5 minutes...maybe less...all in all...it was a GREAT episode =) i cant wait to see how they top this one =)
tracycutie
It's definitely a great episode!
especially when Shawn was talking to Abby but looking at Jules during 'pretty much perfect'
Too bad I didn't get much of the 80's movies references because I haven't seen much of them because I'm a 90's kid...
maybe you guys could list some of those movies so that I could watch them biggrin.gif

Yeah, that was nice, but I was going, "No, it was YOU!" Henry's not the one who ran off, after all! I think both of them cut her way too much slack. I know they care about her, and I know she did the right thing by finally telling Shawn the truth, but the fact remains that she treated them badly. "The writing was on the wall" doesn't cut it with me, sorry. But I'm rambling, so I'll stop.

Getting back to the new episode, I'm really glad they ended it the way they did, with "closure" (even though that word is overused sometimes smile.gif ). So many shows get someone started with a new love interest and then in the next episode the person is gone and you never hear from them again. I was so afraid they were going to do that here. Instead, they ended it nicely and pointed the way toward Jules! YAY! biggrin.gif I did feel a little sorry for Abigail, though, since that kiss pretty effectively signaled that there were still some feelings there.

Oh, by the way, did Juliet go brunette? Her hair looked very dark. I don't remember it being that way the week before.
Corgi
Great epidsode! Hands down my favorite part was Shawn's little dance from the Breakfast Club (one of my all time favorite movies) He's just too darn cute smile.gif

That's why this episode was kinda lame. The episode started out being not funny, like the premiere, until Shawn told Carlton's date that "she won the bitchiest banana award." The whole mood of the show was a LOT better than the season premiere. Shawn made too many references to 1985 movies when his character's prime years were in the 1990s. 1985 would make Shawn & Gus about 8 years old!!! BTW, I never saw the Breakfast Club or Pretty in Pink and I was 14 in 1985. Did they like change writers for this season with older girlie men?!?!? I did like Abigail. She seemed to match wits with Shawn. It would be kinda nice for Gus & Shawn to have a gal pal that kinda made fun of them and Jules is too wrapped-up in her police work to do it. BTW, how can they call Jules' dress "poofy" when it was a tight mini-dress? It's like these new writers are in some other world with some of these lines, or is there a communication problem with wardrobe? I'm back to wanting to get Jules & Shawn together, because it seemed kinda weird seeing Shawn kiss Abigail knowing that James & Maggie are together. I give the episode a 5 out of 10. It was better than the premiere for sure, but it could have definitely been a lot better.

I was happy to see a different side of Shawn in this episode, but I'm sorry, all this Abigail stuff was all the set up for Shawn and Juliet's relationship/feelings for one another. The producers have said it in interviews as well as James and Maggie stating it numerous times in recent interviews. The whole Shawn and Abigail thing caused an uproar on another board, and I'm glad it's not happening here lol.

Although addressing the last part of your statement, I feel as though the kiss really was closure, because there was so much emotion in Shawn's voices when he said "pretty much perfect" as he looked at Juliet, then at the end where he just stared in Juliet's direction, that really spoke volumes. It was Shawn finally vocalizing and realizing that he truly does have feelings for Juliet, even though it was pretty evident to begin with, but he consciously became aware of it. I viewed it as a pretty important step in Shawn and Juliet's relationship, because he finally found closure with something that he'd wondered about rather than not addressing the situation and bailing out on it, he faced it head on. It really showed Shawn's maturity especially since his mother is back and now that he realizes Juliet is the one, it's only right for him to clear the air with Abigail before he can pursue Juliet. And kudos to James, because he is absolutely amazing, not that he wasn't before but the way in which he is developing Shawn's character even more this season is wonderful. Again, I adore James, he's so amazing...and the Breakfast Club dance on the roof basically made my life lol.

WHat??? You have got to be kidding me!!! This episode was fabulous. This show is the type of show where you need to read between the lines. It was incredibly written. The fact that James and Maggie are together in real life should have no bearing on their characters. I know the 80's references don't always fit their age but I guess I love em because I am 40 so I was a senior in HS in 1985. But Shawn is like 8 years younger but who cares. The poofy comment was Shawn's term for the dress being too fancy. I have watched this show since day one and it has only gotten better, it's too bad you don't see it the way a lot of us do. I only say this because you haven't seemed happy with the show. But I love it.

Ok, I'm going to start off with the things that I didn't like about this eppie: No flashback and Shawn's Gus Speech. I'm sorry, but I really LOVE the flashbacks. I hope that the writers don't take them out again, because... I love them... Shawn's speech at the end was a little over the top for me. I'm all for cutesy friend moments, but the long, drawn out, I'm-so-lucky-to-have-you-man thing was to much. I gagged a little. Way too cheesy for me.
Other than that, I LOVED THIS EPISODE!!! Abigail was cute. Henry was so funny with Madeline. Shawn was adorable with the little Shules line at the end... so great... And I loved all of the references. I seriously went out and rented The Breakfast Club just so that I could rewatch it. In conclusion, this was a freaking amazing episode. I will cherish it.

Yeah, I know. I've read some of those interviews, so I knew they were heading toward Shawn/Juliet. And that's what I want. I just meant that I'm glad that they did it the way they did it: Kiss --> winding things up between them --> moving toward Shawn/Juliet, instead of kiss --> things starting to look serious --> Abigail suddenly disappears and is never heard of again --> moving toward Shawn/Juliet. A lot of shows would have done it that way. Like a James Bond movie -- a different girl in every one and you never find out what happened to the last one. I hate that.

I am a big Psych fan and I guess I look for different things from Psych than most people. So far, I haven't seen what I look for in Psych in the season premier and this episode. This episode was a little better than the premier, but it wasn't a 10 in my book. It was not a laughable show to me and yes, I have seen the movies they were referring too. I love to watch Psych, especially when it makes me laugh. I hope that the next show is better. The preview for next week's show made me laugh. I hope the whole episode is funny.

I hope that Shawn and Jules don't hook up, but hey they might before the series finale, which I hope the series finale never happens. Anyway, just because James and Maggie are a couple in real life, I don't need to see them as a couple on screen. I am not hoping this, but James and Maggie might break up and I don't think that the "Shawn and Jules" relationship would be lively, if that ever happens. It might be hard to work with after not only a breakup, but a public breakup, because the fans will find out about it.

I hope that Henry moves on and stop trying to go after Shawn's mother. She left him. Yes, he may still have feelings for her, but come on! Henry is retired now and the mother still works. She will chose her job over Henry. Henry needs better. He doesn't need his heart to be broken twice.

I am almost finished. One thing that I didn't get and that was, why did Shawn asked his father for his underpants in the car? Anthony Michael Hall's character asked Molly Ringwald character for her panties. He wanted to prove to his friends that he slept with her. What was Shawn going to prove with his father's underwear? I found that scene to be out of place. Maybe, I have missed something from The Breakfast Club or Ferris Bueller's Day off.

Gus has done a great job with the class reunion. I don't understand why he gave a 13 years High School Reunion, instead of a 10, then again, Psych wasn't around in 2005.

It's my understanding that it took Gus 3 years to make all the reunion plans. He was suppose to plan their 10th but since it took him so long, the celebration actually fell on their 13th year reunion. Psych not being around in 2005 has nothing to do with it. They can always use flashbacks.
1987hsgrad
This timing made no sense, especially since the references were all to 80's movies and music. Uh Bueller was an 80's movie that makes this their 20th year reunion. That's my generation and by the way Corbin Bernson was on LA Law then and Cybil S was on Moonlighting. They could have made something of that. They should have had boy bands and pearl jam for their reunion not Pat Benatar and John Hughes references. Otherwise I still love the show I just had to suspend serious disbelief and ignore anachronisms to get through this one.

i totally agree with you...especially about the flashback, what was up with that?!?!?!
but i thought the speech was adorable, mainly because this is really the 1st time shawn actually said how much gus ment to him, and letting him take total credit for the case. the only other time i can remember is in mira, when shawn kept on asking lassie/jules for a gun.

but, please, correct me if i'm wrong!
