Bret Hart wins the WCW U.S. Heavyweight Championship for the very 1st time.
Here's what happend:
Goldberg, the previous United States Heavyweight Champion, gave up the title after winning the WCW World Heavyweight Championship from Hollywood Hulk Hogan.
2 weeks later, Bret Hart and Diamond Dallas Page, the two top contenders for the U.S. Gold, competed to crown a new champion on Monday Nitro.
But @ the end, it was Bret Hart who made DDP tapout w/the Sharpshooter and won his 1st WCW Championship-the U.S. Heavyweight Championship for the very 1st time.
and now, 10 years later, Bret Hart is retired and is keeping himself active in other things.
as for the U.S. Heavyweight Title, it is now in the WWE and today, it is in the hands of Shelton Benjamin who just defeated Matt Hardy tonight @ The Great American Bash.
