I got back in to my old account, don't ask me how, I just kept pushing buttons...but there are still issues. Sometimes when I hit quote and go to reply, all the things I quoted are not there. The pictures show as codes, so its hard to reply to more than one photo post at once, since I have no idea what is what. The italics comes on all by iteself and won't shut off.
We are losing people left and right, they are droppping like (excuse me JG) flies.
And yet, shoe sellers can still hop right in...and "Sybil" has no problem continuously posting derrogatory remarks.

Also, sometimes the whole damn screen freezes up and shuts me out of the internet entirely...hey, the sites gone quirky all of a sudden...maybe we should start calling it a "whack-job"?

I just had to play with the darned log in thing as well. Now I'm Culen instead of Cmulen. They said the'd merge the accounts and gave me a password not of my choosing. I'm going to go in and see if I can change it because I'll NEVER remember this one. This is apparently just the start of my journey down the ole porcelain facility. Wish me luck. Holding my nose and going in.......

I had to login for the first time since 'the turn' and other than having to request a new password, to one that is completely un-rememberable, everything seems fine so far... <fingers crossing>

When I spent the night at my mother's this weekend, I had been logged out on her computer. I tried logging on with my e-mail address and requested a new password, but it said there was no record of my e-mail address. So I just lurked while I was there. I'm still logged on here at home and it'll be OK as long as I stay logged on. Don't know what I'll do if I get logged off. I'm not sure if I'll go through all the trouble of getting a new identity. Losing my posting history would be bad enough, but losing all the PMs I've saved would REALLY upset me.

But at least we know where to find cheap Nikes and fake designer handbags--it would be terrible if we lost that information.

My friend who had 7,000 post counts lost her account last two weeks ago. Then the other day, she was able to open her old account with 7,000 posts, but couldn’t post. She tried changing her account’s email address into Yahoo Account. Then, after getting an email from USA, she clicked the validation link to activate the new email address, and finally got her old account back, but her display name had changed. At least, her 7,000 post counts remain.

every so often I log out of this acct and try my old acct. It says my email to my old acct is valid, but I don't get email from USA network, when I request a password. It says my email addy is valid but the password combination isn't. I know its my password, because basically I use the same password everywhere. So I request a new password, but since I can't get email, I can't get the new password.

You know, I was just sitting here wondering, "Where could I possibly find fake Nike Dunk High-Tops", and voila! There is a thread for that very thing. Must be magic. That's why the down...I mean upgrade hasn't slowed down the spammers. They're magic!

Another thing that I have noticed is that when I googled "USA Network", several shows were listed including Criminal Intent. There were direct links to the show pages.

Now Criminal Intent no longer appears. Why? Maybe they are just trying to plug new shows.

It's OK. I can be random at times. I forget people aren't in my head, following my train of thought. I just didn't want to make my comment on the spam thread itself and bump it to the top. It just frustrates me every time I see one. I was checking out the Psych forum yesterday and there were 13 threads in a row advertising different drugs you can buy online. All posted on the same day. Maddening.

I knew it was only a matter of time and I was dreading it. Well, today was the day! The notorious USA forum so called "upgrade" finally caught up with me.

I unexpectedly got logged out and couldn't get back in with my usual e-mail address and password. I got an error message that said I had been registered at MyNBC. I did try to register there but as far as I knew it didn't work. I never received an acknowledgement. In any case, it was around the same time I joined the USA forum so I would have used the same e-mail address and password. I read through this thread and tried all the advice provided with no success. I finally gave in and registered again with a new e-mail address and modified username. I am now "NLfann" instead of "NLfan".

Like everyone else trapped in this fiasco, losing my history was the worst part. I was only a dozen or so posts away from 500 and I was proud of my history!!! If there's any positive side to it, at least now I don't have to dread it any more.

Aw man, that really sucks!!! I didn't think that would still happen now. Glad you're back anyway and didn't lose that many posts. It's called the "downgrade" remember ?

When I was at my mother's for lunch yesterday I decided to go ahead and start a new account so that I can post at her house and use it if I ever get logged out at home. I created a new e-mail address, then signed up as a new member. It all worked great UNTIL it said to wait for a confirmation e-mail. I can't log on with my new ID until I get that confirmation. It's now the next day and NO e-mail. I can't use the new "alter-ego" that I created without it. So if I do ever get logged out of this account I guess I'll be gone for good like Bug and Laurengoren. Just the thought is making me sad. I'll keep my fingers crossed that I never get logged out.

You have to find a email client that will allow usa to send emails. try other email clients. Yahoo. hotmail. I don't know who else there is. but do a search.

Thanks also, hullbound. I was in a panic for a while because I didn't think the new registration was going to work. I got a few messages about my e-mail addresses not matching but I finally figured out what I was doing wrong. I still haven't given up hope of getting my old identity back. I plan to keep trying it.

There's an amusing reason why I got logged out of the forum. I don't know if I should admit to it because it was sooooo stupid, but I'm going to anyway because now I find it funny. I am technologically challenged and also really paranoid about picking up viruses and the potential for hackers to "spy" into my computer so I have a lot of security features installed and I'm pretty cautious about downloading. Earlier this week I spent a lot of time going through 'the reel" archives and I downloaded some stuff. Later, back on the forum I clicked into a pop-up about taking part in a survey. I thought the survey was related to USA or the forum but it wasn't. Later I noticed something like a fly buzzing around inside the screen when I was reading posts on the forum. I tried to click on it with no success. I then became concerned that I had picked up some type of "spying" device (a bug!!!) so I decided to "restore" my computer to a point before I did the downloading and clicked on the pop-up. I also deleted my cookies. In the process, I got logged out. I have since realized that the "bug" I was so concerned about is part of an advertisement "Be Part Of The BUZZ" that is still showing on the right side of my screen and every now and then one of the bees strays onto the rest of the screen. Dense or what??? I didn't even notice the ad before. I did give some serious thought to adopting "BUZZ" as my new username.

I wonder if I could use USA-Admin as a new name?

That's funny well except for losing your original username. I'm laughing with you not at you because I am the same way. Whenever my computer starts taking what I perceive to be a slower than usual amount of time to load I start worrying even though it is probably only because the site or my server is very busy or I need to delete my temp files. I don't like to upload anything or click on any ads-I'm a little paranoid to especially because my husband has to use this comp for his work.

Hi, all. I'm still the same. I had login trouble, but the way that I combatted it was to say that I forgot my password and then have it e-mail me a new one, and then log in with the new password.

No the problem is some of our email addys can't get email from USA anymore, don't know why, so we had to change email providers and create new names. Some people can't even get in with new email providers, like Bug. She can get new name, but can't post.
