Hi, the same kind of thing happened to me, but in my case it's my user name from the SciFi boards. This "upgrade" appears to be a way for them to merge all accounts on the various NBC Universal boards that use the same email account. They did the "upgrade" to the SciFi boards back in February, and if you visit that site on the BSG board you can find a thread discussing the problems they've been having, and the list of people not able to get back in with their old logins continues to grow.

This makes me so sad. We miss you, Bug.

Hey, I just had a thought. I have reported EVERY spam thread that Little Miss Spammer has started on EVERY board. And all the other spam threads on this one. Yet they seem to be free to continue starting new threads. Is it possible that USA Admin has been murdered and there is no one manning the computer?

You should put something in your signature like I did mine saying what your old name was but people should know. It is obvious to me. Mine is a little harder. Without me being able to edit my profile, everything is going in my signature.

Mostly I am trying to keep this thread at the top, and open. I think it is terrible that all the fantastic members have lost their original identities and ranks with posts and everything else included.

Eames: We didn't find anything in USA Admin's office. No prints, no personal items. It's almost as though USA Admin has never been in that office. But I did get something off of his computer. The last message he posted was about some sort of upgrade on a message board. The message says that there will be a different log-in procedure, but that there should be no problems and that this upgrade will prevent spammers.

Goren: Yeah, except it doesn't seem to have worked that way. There are a lot of complaints on that message board about problems logging in. It looks like some posters cant' get back in at all and some had to change their identities and they lost all their previous information. We could be looking at some kind of retaliation. There is one poster named Bubba Bridges who lost 34,000 posts when this upgrade took place. I think we should take a closer look at him. You know, there is a profile in the literature---it's always the quiet ones that you have to watch.


Logan: Wow, Goren, that's deep.

Eames: He got that from his fortune cookie at lunch.


Wheeler: USA Admin's wife says there were no problems in the marriage. Actually she says that it was kind of like he didn't really exist.

I thought, wouldn't it be funny if Administration is having the same problem. Maybe they can log on and can't post either. What if the Upgrade backfired on them too, and they can't get in! That's why their PM is full and they can't read them. Maybe they are trying desperately to log on and can't. Wouldn't that be funny!

ooohhh scary thought! Might even be a bit true. . . .

I am PISSED. So far I haven't had to test my ability to relog in here, but I know that's only a matter of time. What I'm pissed about is the fact that both USA and SciFi Channel have the same parent, but we get NO response on any of the issues here and no extra mods for our boards. Granted, on the mods issue, our board is probably an order of magnitude smaller, but I was visting over on SciFI and THIS is what I saw:

Also I just registered for their forum over there and it said my email address was already a registered NBCU addy, and to enter my password if I had registered there before. It worked so I think I'll be OK here.

So I just tried logging in under my original user name. It said my password and email didn't match up. (I knew I had the correct ones).

So then I decided to try registering using the original email address. It says you may already be registered at NBCU (no sh!t Sherlock).

The thing is I tried this when I first couldn't get in and it didn't work so I don't know if they are making progress and that is why I could get in this time or not. Just as long as it isn't A t and T or bellsouth. But then Bug can't get in on Yahoo, but I did. But then maybe it's because we are so intelligent they think we are a threat,

but oops they ended up letting me in with another nic, so they realized I wasn't a threat and Bug was the real smart one,

It never asked me to merge crap.

I got the same thing, to merge my NBC account with this one and I put in my password but it said my email and password didn't match or weren't right or something (I know it was right) so I asked for a forgotten password which I cannot get due to my email address being with AT&T/SBC. That is the issue, I think.

what goes around, comes around---would serve them right. Too bad about Bug, and has anyone heard from Bubba?

Hey 'jryan' good to see you again, I used to be here a lot until The 4400 got canceled and I started to help with the campaign from Dec or b 4 till last month, now we are starting up again, wish us well.

I remember you and ''k rodgers' SP? I was 'oceanheart' then, I remember the two of you were so nice we would talk about all kinds of things ie' mental health' and of course the wonderful VDO.

So how did you manage to keep your post's? I lost 500 Hope I can get them back. I know others lost a bunch too like Bubba I'd go crazy if I lost that many. Anyway just dropped in to say hi. Our New 4400 campaign starts again in Aug.

I must be one of about a dozen Americans who actually like brussel sprouts (lol!!); in fact, I list them among my favorite vegetables. So let me suggest that I'll take the brussel sprouts and some green beans, broccoli, and cauliflower; but, someone else can have the avocados and peas. (And, don't get liver near me. The smell makes me gag--I couldn't even feed it to my grandmothers dog and cat.)

That way we will all enjoy our meal and not waste; better for us and better for the environment. (Not to mention: "the starving kids in China" -- if you are old enough to understand the reference.) lol

And "kiddies"; when we have all eaten our "healthy stuff"; we can all sit down on the sofa and watch LOCI; while drowning our troubles and frustrations in ice cream, cheesecake, chocolate and all that "gooey, sweet stuff." (Which of course will be calorie-free!). lol

Darn, I was hoping that me finally being able to log on with my old username would mean that other people could too.

(I like brussel sprouts too.)

To get the color to work the text you want to change has to be inbetween the tags. Same with font. So if you see this: [color="#4B0082".][/color.] Move that second tag (the thing in brackets) to the end of your text. Ignore the periods inside the brackets too, I had to add those so the tags wouldn't vanish.


Maybe I don't have trouble like this because I use yahoo and gmail instead of Bellsouth mail?

I get the reference, only we heard etheopia kids were starving...I always thought: "Then send them MY liver and onions, and peas, and tuna cassarole!"

USA Administration, the more people who click here, the more you earn from the sponsors. When the original NBC LOCI forum updated and blocked my login, even though it was repaired in a few weeks, I moved here. I assume others simply left for good, along with their persentage of your advertising revenue. Please restore their logging histories and former screen names to our members. It is important to us personally, but important to you financially.

But I have no trouble with colors, lol.

I have noticed something about logging on these days. I have managed to get on every time I've tried; but it isn't a quick process. If you are type "A" and too anxious/quick pushing keys and buttons you might not make it. YOU NEED TO GO SLOWLY AND HAVE SOME PATIENCE; LOOK AT THINGS BEFORE GIVING UP.

This is what frequently happens to me:

1. I hit log-on at the top of the opening page.

2. This takes me to a log-on screen that has two fields
a. Asks for "UserName" -- I type in my "E-Mail Address"
b. Asks for "Password" -- I type in my "Password"
I press enter (or return)

3. This takes me to another log-in screen. But with some odd error message (I don't know whether this is something about my username/password; or it is the one that says "this is a read-only" screen. I ignore both messages.

This screen also has two log-in fields:
a. Asks for "e-mail address" -- I type in my E-Mail Address (the same one used on the previous screen)
b. Asks for "Password" -- Again I use the same Password as on the previous screen

4. Enter/Return now gives me what looks like an unsuccessful log-in screen with a message that says something about being a "read-only screen." It's lying!!

Here I scroll up, and look at the top of the page where it says something like "logged-in as:"
and it shows my ScreenName in the first small space.

5. I put my cursor on USA Forums, click the mouse button; and, I'm on the Board.

(It seems that one part of this program doesn't know what the other part is doing; and, the user has to manually move from one screen to the next.)

Hope this helps. Remember to slow down, look, don't necessarily believe the error messages you get, and, above all don't assume you are finished too soon; you may not have completed all the necessary steps.

I don't have Bell South but was still locked out and had to start again as a newbie.

But, we're glad you're still here! Only your post count says you're a newbie, and post count doesn't really mean much of anything, now does it? Really? NO!

If you want to build your count back up, go read fanfics and leave comments; go play games -- those are addicting and can REALLY build up your posts. Go to the character lounge and wish everyone there a happy birthday, whether you know them or not! (Sep. threads for each birthday person, at least, used to be when Bubba was here all the time.....) There are also fun games you can play as well. If you watch SVU, go visit there. Lots of boards here with lots of threads where you can leave posts and build up your count very quickly. That's how I got mine up so high.

Hey. Now, now; a lady at all times!! LOL My dad always told my sister that as we were growing up. She got sick of hearing it.

My beautiful young wife is a very frustrated lady right now. At first, after the up/downgrade, she wasn't getting notified from USA that she had PM's. So if she didn't log on she didn't know she had any. Now she has been trying to email GoddessDivine some scrapbooking tips. TGD isn't getting Angie's emails, although Angie got hers. So, TGD if you are reading this, Angie sent your email to you from mine. She has a very bad headache and is sleeping right now.
